This grouping of vintage toys features women career figures from Guidecraft's first line of Wedgies wooden toys from the 1960s, as well as pieces from the 1970s. Cleverly crafted from wood wedges, these colorful women figures stand on their own and have detailed overlays depicting various occupations and pastimes.

The vintage toy collection would make a cool display on an office shelf or in a child's nursery.

Rare Park & Pollard advertising booklet, Lay or Bust Year Book and Almanac for 1919, is packed with information on raising chickens, along with a bit about hogs and cows.

Historically interesting, the farm booklet's introduction asks the reader if "You are a good American," and refers to the World War I defeat of Germany, and rising demand for foodstuffs.

The illustrated booklet takes the farmer through the year providing detailed information on what to do to raise healthy chickens.

The antique almanac is in good condition with typical wear around the edges. The back cover top corner is missing (see photograph two). The color cover is bright and in very good condition. The booklet has a hole in the upper left-hand corner for ease of hanging in a convenient spot for easy reference.

Vintage deck of playing cards given away by Baltusrol Golf Club at the 1961 U.S. Women's Open are a rare find. This vintage golf collectible would make a fun gift for the golfer in your life.

The poker-size playing cards are crisp and appear to have only been played with once or twice. The box shows wear particularly at the corners and has some scuffing and nicks.

Cards were produced by Miller Golf, Randolph, MA, and printed in Brazil.

I Want To Be A Train Engineer captures the job of train engineer as it was back in the 1950s. Times have surely changed, but this charming book will still delight children and adults. The illustrations were very modern for the time.

Written by Carla Greene and illustrated by Victor Havel, this child's career book is part of a series published in the late 1950s and early 1960s by the Children's Press. The light green cloth binding has red graphics of children dressed in the clothing for various careers, such as a fireman, doctor, teacher, cowboy, seamstress, baker, and football player.

The book is not in good condition. It is a nearly 60 year-old children's book that was used in a public school system. The cloth binding is fraying at the edges and has worn away completely on the spine. Binding is tight. Some pages have small tears and light soiling. Book has a date (May 29, 1961) and Cedar Grove, N.J. Board of Education stamp on the front right-hand side endpaper. Some might consider this book a cutter. The illustrations are fabulous and worthy of framing.

Written for the landsman not the professional seaman, the book covers shipping language, ship anatomy, boating signals and rules, boat engines and engineering, navigation, time at sea, anchoring, and other pertinent boating topics.

Published in 1949, the vintage nautical book has illustration by P.A. Jobson as well as color plates of nautical flags and ship markings. The book includes a glossary of terms.

The vintage book is in good condition showing typical wear on the cover most notably at the corners and at the top and bottom of the spine. The book does not have a dust jacket. Paper edges and endpapers are tanned with age. Pages are clean. Binding is tight.

Rare 9-inch diameter vintage world globe is a bit of an oddity. It has a stepped Art Deco glass base used by Rand McNally during the World War II era, but the vintage globe also has a decorative cast metal support arm typically seen on globes from the 1920s.

This Rand McNally Indexed Terrestrial Art Globe shows the world in the early stages of World War II. Austria has been consumed by Germany (Anschluss, March 1938), Czechoslovakia does not exist, Poland's border is perforated indicating occupation by Nazi Germany.

The globe has an interesting mix of political designations indicating that it was made very late in 1941 (Marshall Islands are under Japan occupation but the Gilbert Island are marked as British) or early 1942 (Italian East Africa dissolved in early 1942).

This is a beautiful old globe with a deep and warm patina of age. The oceans are a turquoise blue with nautical distance indicators. There are eight masted ships scattered through the seven seas. The political boundary colors are muted shades of pink, green, and yellow.

The globe shows wear including general dust, soiling, spots, and areas of paper loss. The Equator line is missing revealing the globe's center seam. There is a metal plate and cork disk at Antarctica where the globe connects to the cast iron mount. The glass Art Deco base is in beautiful condition.

This miniature world globe pencil sharpener would make a special gift or unique office decor. Made in Germany circa 1905, the miniature steel globe has a simplified version of the World's political boundaries.

An incredible example of crewel embroidery, this vintage textile needlework piece can be transformed into a wall hanging or pillow cover.

Worked on a white linen background with wool thread in a vibrant 1970s flower design, the crewel embroidery is complete and in very good condition. The linen fabric, measuring 35 inches x 17 inches, has been folded in half and has a crease line. There are a few spots that should come out with washing. Note the word "top" below the crease line above the crewel work. Black basting stitches outline the pillow cover back dimension. There is a dry cleaners tag pinned to one corner.

Ready for finishing, you can make a pillow cover, frame it for a wall hanging, or use it in another craft project.

Night Haunts of Paris by Roland Vane (pseudonym of Ernest L. McKeag) is just what you would expect from a pulp fiction novel from the early 1950s. Written in an exposé style (pun intended), the back cover informs that "These exposures may shock you; they will certainly thrill you and hold your interest until the very last line."

Picked up at an estate sale, I just couldn't resist the title and cover. The slim work of pulp fiction came in a protective plastic wrapper which I will send along with the book. The wrapper has two stickers on it, one says "Night Haunts," and the other "Heade GGA Cover," referring to cover art by Reginald Heade. GGA is an an acronym for "good girl art," a pulp fiction art style term coined by the American Comic Book Company for cover art depicting sexy women in improbable poses.

Pulp fiction by definition refers to books printed on cheap pulp paper which ages quickly. The book is in good condition with typical tanned paper. The cover graphic is bright but has a chip off the edge and some soiling. There is sticker residue from a price tag and light soiling on the cover.

Sweet trio of vintage pottery chalkware figurines includes two angels and a little boy with his dog. The miniature figures make a very appealing display grouped together. The figures are reminiscent of Jean Manley's pottery and Hermione Palmer's early work. The boy reminds me of Tintin and his dog Milou (aka Snowy).

Found in a box of vintage miscellaneous pieces of California pottery, one of the figures, the angel with black wings with gold polka dots has a curious makers mark, ""Four Star Lines Hollywood Calif. Hand Made."

Solid copy of Jean Paul Sartre's classic Existential novel, The Age of Reason is the first book in his The Roads to Freedom trilogy. Concerned with the Existentialist concept of what it means to be free, the book is set in 1930s Paris and is considered a fictional presentation of the ideas found in Sartre's Nothingness and Being.

This circa 1940s Modern Library Book edition of Sartre's work has an intriguing cover design, decorative endpapers, and an attractive blue cloth binding with silver lettering.

The dust jacket shows wear most notably along the edges with small tears and paper loss at the top and bottom of the spine. The pages are clean. Binding is tight. The front right hand-side end paper has been torn out and the page preceding the title page has been carefully taped into the book.

Not a recent reprint, this is a genuine first edition copy of Sick in Bed With Stocks. The book was read and carefully examined showing signs of wear and age including some pencil notations, dog-earred pages, bumped corners and wear at the top and base of the spine. The book's pages are tanned with age. Paste down publisher's correction on page 25. Overall, a good sound copy of a rare title on the stock market. Binding is tight.
