Vintage 1950s Playskool puzzles in their original packaging are a rare fine, and this set is just darling with images of Golden Book illustrations of children playing dress-up wedding and a little girl sitting on a big rocking chair knitting.

No. 90-12 in Playskool's Golden Book puzzle series, these vintage jigsaw puzzles are in very good condition showing very light wear. The original box is a bit flattened and has creases, small tears, and some paper loss.

Exquisite Japanese woodblock print depicts a calm winter scene with temple gate, temples, falling snow, evergreens and an adult with child strolling by. The child is wearing a red shirt and your eye is immediately drawn to it. The temples are outlined in red and gold. I found this charming print in an old box of correspondence dating from the late 1940s through the 1950s.

The paper stock is folded in half as if the owner meant to use it as a note card. The ink impression shows through on the reverse side. Suitable for framing either folded in half or fully opened, this lovely art work is in very good vintage condition. The paper is beginning to tear at the creases.

There is what looks to be a signature and a chop stamp on the lower left-hand side of the woodblock.

Found in a box of correspondence sent to the USA from Japan in the 1950s, this original silk fabric painting shows a lovely winter scene. Mounted between red-trimmed card stock and a delicate sheet of paper, the painting is in excellent condition.

The charming scene shows falling snow, pine tree boughs, snow-covered lanterns, with a view across water to a red gateway with snowy hills in the background. The red gates stands in sharp contrast to the gray winter sky.

Matting and backing paper are slightly yellowed. Right hand side of the matting (side without the red trim) appears to have been gently torn or cut out of a book or from a back matting board. The piece is not signed.

A beautiful and delicate work of art, it would be a lovely addition to any decor.

These Japanese vintage printing block panels would lend a unique decor accent to a living room, bedroom, hallway, or any other place you'd like to have an interesting focal point. Hand-carved on wooden panels, the vintage printer's block have beautiful floral designs.

One panel is thicker than the other and has carved patterns on both sides. Each wooden panel has three notches at the top and bottom.

These are very old wood printing the blocks. The wooden printing blocks have residue of ink and other signs of wear and the passing of time including scratches, chipping of the wood around the edges as well as a few chips from the designs, and some splitting of the wood at the tops and bottoms that does not effect the integrity of the pieces.

Sweet trio of vintage half-pint milk bottles can be displayed in a rustic country kitchen, used for beverages such as milkshakes, or filled with flowers.

The small vintage milk bottles include two with red pyroglaze and one with an embossed dairy cow.

The lot includes three 1/2 pint size vintage milk bottles from the following dairies:

Breau's Dairy - Red Pyroglaze with "Better Milk and Cream" on the front and "Milk that is Milk" with a horse-drawn milk cart and milkman on the back. Pyroglaze on the back shows noticeable wear. Bottle has a few small black scuffs on the front.

Land 'O Pines Dairy Products Company, Lufkin, Texas in red pyroglaze on the front and back. Bottle and pyroglaze are in good condition.

Speedwell Farms - Embossed dairy cow on front of the bottle. Embossed "Mass T Seal" and "Wash and Return Half Pint" on the back and "Retail" on the bottom. Bottle has a cardboard milk cap marked "Pure Milk." Bottle shows typical wear.

Bottles are approximately 5 1/2" tall.

Based in Watertown, N.Y., the Shaughnessy Knitting Co. produced their Olovnit knitted underwear and stockings during the flapper era. This collectable vintage tape measure has a white celluloid casing with a gold and blue transfer label.

Made in the 1920s, the cloth measuring tape is in good vintage condition. The retractable tape measure is in working order, but given its age, should be handled gently. The casing is in very good condition with slight signs of wear. The lovely vintage sewing tape measure would make a great gift for the collector.

This rare set of Jenny Nystrom fairy tale art prints is simply extraordinary. Published in Christiania, Norway (modern Oslo), the set includes:

The striking color illustrations are vibrant. The prints are in good condition with the exception of Cinderella which is torn in half but still attached to its matting board. There is a tear at the top of the little red riding hood print. There is a small chip at the bottom of the Snow White print. The matting boards are not in good condition. They are torn and taped. A previous owner wrote the English translation of each image in pencil at the top and on the back of each matting card. The brown cloth-bound hardcover folio shows wear including rubbing, fraying, & soiling.

Prints measure approximately 5 3/8" x 4" on 8 1/4" x 6 1/2" matting cards.

This metal Mars Staedtler pencil box was modified long ago by its owner who carefully pasted a Speedball Triple Reservoir Pen label on the lid as well as Speedball nib charts on the inside.

The vintage pencil box contains three vintage calligraphy dip pens along with a selection of pen nibs including Speedballs, Hunt, & Spencerian Gilt-Points made in England. There is also a Clix razor blade, a small plastic novelty trinket in the form of half a cup marked "For My 'Half-Ass' Friend," and an "Out to Lunch" sign.

Ethics for the Unbelievers presents a system of morality built on principles of rationality and science not on religious beliefs.

The author, Amber Blanco White, was a notable figure in her time. Born in New Zealand, and educated at Cambridge, she was a founding member of the University Fabian Society, a British Socialist organization, a lecturer in moral Science at Morley College, and a lover of H.G. Wells.

The vintage book is in good condition showing typical wear and tanning of the paper from age. The dust jacket is in tatters as shown in photograph one. The book has an interesting ex libris bookplate from the library of Edward W. Berman that has bust caricature, presumably of Berman, on a pedestal (see photograph three). The ex libris bookplate is signed by E. Schwartz and dated "1945" in blue ink.

Robert W. Service, often referred to as the Bard of the Yukon, was a popular and prolific British-Canadian poet and writer best known for the "The Shooting of Dan McGrew," and "The Cremation of Sam McGee."

This three volume set of Service's poems was published by Barse & Hopkins for the American market. The antique books have green cloth bindings with gold gilt lettering and decorative accents. The attractive vintage book bundle would make a great gift for the Robert Service fan. Each volume has the previous owner's name (Edwin Howe Halsted) written on the front endpaper. Books are in good condition showing typical wear around the cover edges, at the top and base of the spines, with paper tanned from age.

Vintage photographs make interesting wall decor in a home, office, or workshop. This black & white panoramic group shot shows the cast and supporting crew for the Montclair Operetta Club's Spring 1950 production of "The Student Prince."

This old photo is an original print not a reproduction. The panorama group picture measures approximately 19 1/4 inches long by 8 1/4 inches.

The vintage photo is in good condition. There is a crease on the left-hand side of the photograph, a few brown spots, and pin hole marks at the corners. There is a slight curling at the edge of the long photograph.

I have two other panoramic group photographs from the Montclair Operatta company, "The New Moon" produced November 1949 and "Song of Norway" produced November 1950. Condition is about the same for these photographs. Interested in all three vintage photos? Let me know and I'll put together a package deal.

Oh dear, this moose is so cute. I couldn't resist picking him up at an estate sale despite his flaws. Made by Copr Ornamental Arts & Crafts, this chalkware moose statue is amazingly detailed, and would be the perfect accent for your rustic home decor, lake cabin, or man cave retreat.

I couldn't find much information on Copr Ornamental. They were known for making chalkware TV lamps in the 1950s.

The moose is in fair vintage condition. It looks as if his head has been repaired. He is missing a portion of his surrounding forest vignette (please see photograph three). There is some paint loss and nicks. The back of the piece is flat and could easily be incorporated into a new work of moose art.

Piece measures approximately 9" long x 6 3/4" tall x 3 1/4" deep. It is impressed along the upper back edge "Copr Ornamental Arts & Crafts."
