Two Boy Scout membership registration cards for the years 1933 & 1934 are contained in a "This Boy's Life" envelope advertising the classic scout magazine. Issued to "George Bowen" who resided in Ridgewood, N.J., the cards are in very good condition and bear the signature of his local Scout Executive, Henry ? Schreiber, Jr.

George wrote his full name "George Hertz Bowen" and his Ridgewood address -- 426 Wastena Ter. -- on the envelope. According to real estate records, 426 Wastena was built in 1933. George's family must have been the first owners.

The envelope is in good shape. In addition to George's notes, there are some ink stains on the front. The top front corners are dog eared.

Envelope measures 4" x 2 3/4" and the cards are slightly smaller.

This copy of The New Fun With Dick and Jane, Children's Book is in remarkable condition for a 1950s learn-to-read school book. Published by Scott, Foresman, the Dick and Jane reading series taught the baby boomer generation to read. The book is packed with beautiful illustrations depicting the post-war American family experience.

The collectible vintage book can be used as cool retro nursery or children's room decor. And, you can also use the book to get the young ones started with reading.

The book was used in a classroom and shows typical wear. There is a "Caldwell School" property stamp on the front endpaper. A child wrote and then crossed out the word "and" twice in pencil on the back endpaper. Some of the pages have soiling and a few stray pencil marks. The cover shows wear including rubbing & bumping at the corners, fraying at the base of the spine and soiling. Overall, this is a good copy of this collectible classroom school book.

Old clock face charm with Roman numerals has a funky retro feel. The vintage pendant has a red rhinestone front and center & various colored rhinestones on the back. Use this clock face jewelry on a charm bracelet or wear it as a necklace on a chain.

This is an old charm dating from the 1950s and it shows its age. The gold-metal shows wear with the base metal peeking through in spots.

Measures 1" in diameter.

This lovely vintage chalkware gloria creche angel figurine wears a white robe, has gold wings & blonde hair. She holds a "Gloria" inscription and appears to hover above the earth.

She is not self standing. There is a very small metal loop on her back which was plastered over during the manufacturing process. It looks like someone tried to remove this plaster but failed. The angel looks quite lovely leaning up against a support or display.

This nativity angel is old and shows wear but is in overall very good condition. She has a chip at the base on the back which does not show from the front and a few dings.

Measurements: Approximately 4" tall x 4 1/4" wide x 1" deep.

The Girl Proposition, A Bunch of He and She Fables by George Ade --

Referred to as the first modern American humorist, George Ade was a literary and commercial success in his time with a career spanning from the late Victorian era through the 1930s. This volume of fables captures the transformation of America from a rural to an urban based society. The book gives an interesting glimpse into a changing society providing humorous character sketches of men and women and their relationships.

The charming book is illustrated with wood cuts by John Tinney McCutcheon among others.

The book is in good condition. Its tan cloth covers have a pictorial label on the front cover. Covers are soiled and rubbed with some fraying at the corners and spine edges. Previous owners name is written in pencil on the front endpaper along with the word "Humor" and the numbers "09992." Binding is tight. Pages are clean.

Classic vintage embroidered Christmas handkerchief was given as a gift one holiday long ago and was never used by the recipient. In pristine condition, the white cotton Desco Switerzland hanky will be sent to you in its original Bamberger's department store gift box. The delicate handkerchief has a lovely hand embroidered Christmas candle and holly motif.

Included in the gift box is small cotton sachet in the shape of a Christmas ornament embroidered with the same holiday motif as the handkerchief. This is a sweet hanky & sachet set and would make an ideal gift for a handkerchief collector.

Handkerchief is approximately 13" square and is in unused condition.

The Bamberger's box show some shelf wear around the edges. Box measures 10 1/8" x 7 1/4".

Vintage Symphony Scarf with it's original Village Vogue Chicago department store price tag is a true rare find. The mid-century modern art fish mobile motif is simply fantastic. The scarf also has its signature Symphony Scarf metal violin hang tag as well as a cloth tag stating "Hand Rolled Pure Silk Made in Japan."

This scarf is a work of art! You can certainly wear it, but the scarf could also be framed and used as a wall hanging.

Scarf is in excellent vintage condition.

Ten tiny birds molded from plaster chalkware, these colorful rare birds can be used as cake toppers, in arts & crafts projects such as shadowboxes, or simply displayed on a library shelf or your office desk.

Each miniature bird is hand painted, has wire legs, and stands on a chalkware base.

These delicate birds are in remarkable condition for their age, eight of which are in very good to excellent vintage condition. One blue bird is missing its wing, and one wing tip on the white crane has broken off (see photograph three).

The birds stand approximately 1 1/4 - 1 3/4" tall.

Vintage Gossard Loungeware hostess caftan gown, this retro 1960s maxi-length house dress is a stunner. Take a close look at the fabric. Vibrant squares of yellow, orange, green, turquoise & white form an amazing geometric pattern across the fabric.

The dress has a coordinating orange zipper that zips up the front, pockets on the side seams, and front darts.

Gown is in very good vintage condition.

Beautiful set of five (5) black lacquer nesting boxes, these Chinese boxes have gold speckled interiors and hand painted dragons on the lids. The largest box has two dragons -- one in the sky and one in the waves.

The boxes are old, yet in lovely condition. The boxes show typical wear including a few chips around the box edges, a few dings, and light scratches. The lid of the second largest box has a crack.

The largest box has a hand painted makers mark on the bottom as well as its original paper "Made in China" label.

Alleluia!

Rainbow-colored enamel alleluia pendant made by Terra Sancta Guild Israel harkens back to the age of aquarius and folk rock masses. A fabulous piece of religious jewelry, the piece is heavy and of very high quality.

The pendant necklace is on a silky navy blue cord that ties around the neck. Dating from the late 1960s - early 1970s, the pendant is in excellent vintage condition. I don't think it was ever worn. Pendant is hallmarked on the back "Terra Sancta Guild Israel Phila" along with a copyright symbol.

Pendant comes in a gift box ready for giving.

Pendant measures approximately 1 5/8" long by 1 1/2" wide. Cord is approximately 30" long.

Scarf is in excellent vintage condition showing very minimal signs of wear. The scarf drapes beautifully. It hooks in the back, is adjustable, and has a Whiting and Davis metal hang tag.

Scarf measures approximately 16" across the longest end of the triangle, and is adjustable up to approximately 18 1/2". The neck piece is approximate 8 1/2" long.

This is a "Pocket Rocket" badge, formally known as a Missile Badge, Missilier Badge, and the Missileman Badge. It was award to United States Air Force (USAF) personnel during the Cold War era to those trained to launch land-based nuclear weapons. It was also given to Air Force engineers.

The pin was manufactured by N.S. Meyer, Inc, in New York.

The pin is in very good condition. It has two clutch-back pin mounts but is missing their caps which can easily be replaced.

Measurements: 3/4" x 2 1/2"

Vintage Eldorado 17 jewel purse watch has a cool sliding case design. Initially patented in France in 1930, this sliding case design was the hallmark of the Movado Ermeto purse watch which was copied by several high-end German & Swiss watch factories. Obviously, this "Eldorado" branded watch is one of those knock offs.

Designed as a travel watch that could be carried in your purse or pocket, the case has a built in easel stand that slides out so the watch can sit upright on a table or desk. The watch is stem set and wound. It has a sweeping red-tipped arrow second hand. It has a jump ring loop for a chain. The case opens by gently pulling the two sides apart. The case covering appears to be leather.

The watch is marked "Made in Germany" along with two U.S. patent numbers. The patent numbers date the watch to the 1950s.

The watch is in working condition and keeps fairly accurate time. After running for three hours, the watch gained one minute.

The watch's gold tone metal casing shows wear particularly around the wind-up stem. The case exterior shows wear. Please see the photographs for more information about condition. I'd be happy to send you additional photographs of this classic timepiece.

Watch measures 2 1/4" closed & 3" open. The case is 1 1/2" wide. The watch face is approximately 1 1/8" square. Case is approximately 3/8" deep at its widest point.

This very early piece of Higgins glass is a wonderful example of their fused and molded glass technique. The small ashtray or dish has a classic mid-century design, shape & color combination -- black, brown, sea foam green & gold color combination.

Initially created as an ashtray, you can use this small Higgins piece as intended (which I would not recommend -- bad for you and the art object), as a dish, or as part of an art glass display.

Founded in 1948, Frances & Michael Higgins began producing their now famous art glass in their Chicago apartment with kilns set up behind their sofa. Using the ancient art of glass fusing, the Higgins created the quintessential art glass of the Mid-Century Modern era.

This piece has an etched "Higgins" signature and dates to 1948 to the early 1950s. The dish is in very good vintage condition.

Approximately 5 3/4" at its longest point & 4 1/2" at its widest point.

She bought it and then changed her mind, put it in the back of her drawer and forgot about it for almost 50 years. Now, you can complete your retro look with this new vintage bow tie scarf. In its original box, the red and black striped silk scarf still has an attached store tag.

This lovely scarf is in excellent condition having never been worn. It has a "Specialty House" label marked "Made in Japan" &"100% Silk." Has a faint perfume drawer smell.

Vintage wood Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer planter, invite him to be the centerpiece at your Christmas dinner.

Kitchy and cute, Rudolf has goggly eyes and vintage fabric poinsettia secured in florist foam in his planter basket.

Rudolf was very possibly created from a built-it-yourself kit available in the 1960s - early 1970s.

Rudolf is in very good condition. His red cotton-ball nose has some dried glue on it.

Rudolf is approximately 13" from nose to tail, stands 15" tall, & is approximately 4" wide.
