The Chain of Command is a humorous satire on the inner workings of army procedure. Told in a light manner and illustrated with cartoons, the story exposes the hilarious and unexpected consequences associated with the attempt to ration toilet paper.
This is a vintage, first edition copy of the book published in 1945. The dustcover shows wear with chipping and tearing along the edges. Hardcover boards have some spotting and the edges and spine are worn. There is a gift inscription written in ink on the inside from end paper.

Made for General Motors by Pinehouse Toys, this vintage wooden toy truck has operational wheels and two slots in the back bumper to hold pens or pencils.
Advertising a GM automotive insurance protection plan, the collectible vintage wood truck can be used as decor in a boy's room, mancave, or office desk.
Genuine circa 1970s vintage, the toy truck was played with in its time and shows it, with wear to the wood tires, dings, scratches, and pencil and pen markings as shown in the photographs.
The toy advertising truck is completely made from wood and is marked "Pinehouse Toys, Inc, Burnsville, MN" on the bottom.

This vintage booklet is part of a series of anti-Communist pamphlets distributed by the Catholic Information Society which advertised itself as "The most fearless and factual exposé of Communism ever published."
Without a shred of irony, the vintage pamphlet outlines the Soviet imperialistic "Red Drive" against the colonies of the former imperialistic Europe countries.

Published in 1946, this vintage television technology book gives an overview of the technical side of the industry and the development of color TV. The book is illustrated with drawings by James MacDonald and with black & white photographs. The book has a decorative cover that would make an interesting office decor accent.

The lucite globe comes in its original mailing box and packing slip dated 12/15/89 from Rand McNally. The vintage globe and gold-tone stand are in excellent condition having never been displayed.

This wonderful vintage tartan plaid fabric comes with a curious "Wizardry of Oz” and "Oz Maren" label. I couldn't find any information about the textile company — the tag indicates their business address was 180 Madison Avenue in New York City. Maren is the last name of one of the Wizard of Oz Lollipop Guild Munchkins from the 1939 film. Could there possibly be a link?
From the estate sale of woman who did a lot of sewing back in the late 1950s to early 1970s, this wonderful fabric is in "as new" vintage condition.

Vintage Grace Holmes Club Plan mail order catalog for fall winter 1958 - 1959 contains a treasure trove of information on mid-century clothing for men, women, & children, underwear, toys, electronics, housewares, furniture, lamps, bedding,and general household and personal items.
The glossy magazine-type catalog has 318 pages and includes a handy index.
The catalog is in remarkable condition, but it does show wear mostly around the edges and at the top and bottom of the spine. The cover has a few small tears most notably on the front cover bottom edge. The pages are clean.

Vintage Eagle Poise 1256 pen holder counter display from the 1930s has its original calligraphy nib pens intact. The bright array of colorful painted wood penholders makes an amazing display.
The advertising counter display was never used, and is in amazing condition for its age. There are some age spots, soiling, and minor creasing, but the colors are vibrant. The die cut cardboard display has an easel hinge in the back for standing on a counter. The display holds its original dozen (12) Eagle Poise 1256 pens -- four red, four blue, four green, & four yellow. The pens are new old stock. Each pen has prong fitting at the end for the insertion of a nib, and is marked "1256 Eagle Poise U.S.A."
Display measures 12 inches x 8 inches.

This transfer painted metal steel globe published by the J. Chein & Company, Burlington N.J. has very good detail for a "tin" child's desk globe. The world globe has a plastic half meridian, time dial at the North Pole, and a gold metal octagon base.
The globe shows the world as is was in 1960-1961. Egypt & Syria are united as the United Arab Republic (1958 - 1961), French Equatorial Africa is not present (1908 - 1959), Germany is broken apart into East and West. "Belgian" has been dropped from the Congo (1960).
In very good condition for a 50+ year-old metal globe, the colors are bright and there are minimal signs of wear.
The globe has a 9" diameter, stands approximately 12" tall, measures 7" across the base, and has approximately a 28" circumference not including the meridian.
Globes make great gifts!

An incredible find, this circa 1930s Max Factor Hollywood Society Makeup powder box is completely intact including its advertising and make-up hints brochure featuring Myrna Loy.
The vintage powder box has a metal lid top over heavy cardboard. The box base is covered with gold paper. The powder is cased in its original factory wrapping. The box is marked with the Good Housekeeping Magazine's "Tested and Approved" seal.
As this is genuine vintage makeup produced circa 1930s, it is being sold as a collectible item not as a useable make-up product.
The vintage cosmetic box is in excellent condition with just a few light scratches on the lid as shown in the photographs.
