This adorable vintage glass canister set with lids would make a great baby shower gift or practical baby nursery decor accent.

Each small glass container is marked "Baby All" with the image of a nurse on one side and a sweet baby animal on the other side along with labels for cotton, baby aids, baby oil, and boric acid. This is a genuine vintage glass canister set from the 1940s. The glass containers are in good vintage condition showing typical signs of wear and age. The kitten graphic is a bit yellowed with age. One glass canister has a flea bit around the lip, one lid has a small chip around the edge, and one lid has a larger chip as shown in photograph five.

Each glass canister is approximately 3 3/4" tall including the lid with a 2 1/2" base diameter.

This colorful lot of antique embroidery thread would lend a beautiful and unique vintage touch to your office, workshop, or home decor. Display the vintage embroidery thread samples in a candy dish or vintage glass jar.

The antique thread and cardboard thread winders also have a historical significance as they are amazingly well preserved artifacts of the New York Society of Decorative Art founded in 1877 by Candace Wheeler. Considered the mother of American interior design and a prominent textile designer, Wheeler was an authority on American design and home decoration and was influential in the Aesthetic and Arts and Crafts Movements. She helped launch the New York Exchange for Women's Work supporting the manufacture and sale of products produced in the home including household linens, handicrafts, and baked goods.

This antique thread dates from the late 1800s. The thread is in good condition but is being sold for display and its historical interest as its tensile strength has not been tested. The antique cardboard thread winders are in good condition showing slight tanning from age. Each winder is stamped "N.Y. Society of Decorative Art." Several of the winders are numbered and have notations in pencil.

Lot includes nine small thread winders wound with small amounts of thread.

Each thread winder measures approximately 1 1/2" x 1 1/2".

This 8-inch Weber Costello New Peerless Terrestrial world globe is a beautiful decorative item with its bronze full ring meridian, full mount wooden table stand with horizon ring, and colorful paper map gores. But this vintage world globe is also a very rare find showing a number of interesting political designations which date the globe to circa 1924.

The world globe has a rare dual siting of Leningrad (Petrograd). Soviet Socialists Republics is indicated on the globe along with Russia, Union Russian, and Transcaucasia. Tangiers is marked neutral, a result of a 1923 treaty resolving a disagreement among France, Spain, and Britain over control of the area. Southern Rhodesia (established 1923) and Northern Rhodesia (established 1924) are present. There are designations in the area of South Africa which are representative of the turmoil in the region in the early half of the 20th century. The globe shows British Bechuana, Bechuanaland (Br.Prot.), Transvaal, South West Africa (Un. of S. Afr.), Union of South Africa, Swaziland, Nyasaland (Br. Prot.), and Orange Free State.

Other interesting political designations include Estonia, Latvia, & Lithuania prior to Soviet Occupation, Chose (Korea) and Taiwan as part of the Japanese Empire, Persia, Palestine, British Somaliland, French Somaliland, & Italian Somaliland, Fed. Malay States (Br.), Dutch East Indies, and British North Borneo. British territories, colonies, and commonwealth all shown in pink.

The vintage globe is in good condition for its age showing some dust soiling, a ding and a light pencil scribble in the North Atlantic Ocean, and creasing from Germany down into French West Africa. The Equatorial band tape is in good condition. The globe rests in a wood stand with cuts notches to fit the bronze full meridian. The stand has turned wood legs and stretchers. The stand shows typical wear with some scratches, dings, and wear to the wood.

The vintage globe has a circular cartouche branding it as a Terrestrial Globe Weber Costello Co. Manufacturers Chicago Heights, Ill. It is also marked "New Peerless 8 Inch Globe" and "W.C. Time Tested School Supplies," along with a legend, and analemma diagram showing the variation in the positioning of the sun throughout the calendar year.

Antique photograph carte de visite captured a little Berlin girl in her first holy communion finery. Rare to find three identical carte de visite, this beautiful antique photography trio has a lovely sepia tone, and would look amazing framed together. The charming child is holding typical photography studio props of the time period including a long white candle and pray book.


These carte de visite are part of a collection of photographs from one Berlin family. The collection is an interesting visual glimpse into the life of a wealthy German family in the late 1800s into the early part of the 20th century.

Carte de visite were invented in Paris by André Adolphe Eugène Disdéri in 1854. He also developed a method of producing eight separate negatives on one plate making it easier to produce multiple cards of an identical image. In the mid to late 1800s, carte de visite became all the rage and were traded among friends and relatives.

The CDVs are in remarkable condition for their age showing light edge wear and a few small dings. Each card has the gold gilt stamp of Samsond & Co Berlin.

Cards measure approximate 4 3/4" x 2".

Genuine 12kt gold filled half-rimmed Shuron eyeglasses come with their original velvet-lined eyewear case from an optometrist in Passaic, N.J. The vintage eyeglasses are in good condition showing age appropriate wear from use and storage. The eyeglasses have etching on the nose bridge, bakelite nose guards, flexible gold wire temples and temple tips that curl around the ears.

The original eyewear case appears to be metal covered with faux leather. The eyeglass case shows considerable wear particularly on the front edge and along the back hinge where the faux leather has completely worn away. There is some faux leather missing on the case lid as well. The eyeglasses have been lightly and gently cleaned and show a patina of age.

The prescription eyeglass lenses are thick and in good condition.

The inside of the nose bridge is marked "Shuron 1/10 12 K G.F." The inside of each temple arm is marked "1/10 12 K G.F."

Colorful vintage world globe attributed to J. Chein, the tin toy maker, has a full meridian with degree marks, a time dial at the top, and a base indicating the seasons, months, and the zodiac signs. The vintage globe shows the path of the Graf Zeppelin flight of 1929, and has mileage indicators along major trade routes.

This scarce metal globe dates from the early 1930s. The lithograph colors are bright. The globe is in good condition showing age appropriate wear including dings, scratches and some paint loss. There are two dents in the globe, a small one in the Pacific Ocean and a larger one (best seen in photograph five on the right-hand side) below Japan.

The toy globe has a 7 inch diameter, and is 9 inches wide including the meridian. The small globe stands approximately 12 inches tall including the meridian.
