Designed for traveling, this antique inkwell has a clever barrel shape with a push button activated lid. The inkwell has a great patina of age and comes with its original glass ink pot insert. The non-magnetic metal inkwell has a worn brass finish on the outside and a silver tone metal inside.

The inkwell dates from the 19th century and is well over 100-years old. It shows considerable signs of use and age. The interior has ink residue and some corrosion. The glass ink pot insert has a few flea bits around the rim and blue ink residue inside. There is a small dent on the front of the barrel near the push button. The push button is in good working order. A previous owner etched the number "06" on the bottom.

Sweet Fenton Glass top hat can be used as a vase, planter, candy dish or general what-not organizer. The art glass has an interesting look with Fenton's French Opalescent white interspersed with clear glass giving the piece a striped look. I think the glass top hat would look nifty filled with red and green candies for the holiday season.

The glass vase dates from the late 1930s to early 1940s. It is missing its Fenton label. The piece is in very good condition. No chips. No cracks.

Piece is approximately 3" tall with a 2 3/4" base diameter. The top measures about 4 3/8" across by 3 5/8".

This copy of The New York Almanac from 1890 is in near mint condition. The advertising almanac produced by Castoria is new old stock and has never been used or fully opened.

The cover has an amazing lithograph print of New York harbor at night under a full moon showing the newly erected Statue of Liberty (1886). The bottom left-hand corner of the almanac pamphlet refers to the lithograph as "New York Harbor by Moonlight showing Statue of Liberty," but does not reference the artist. The print is suitable for framing.

Produced to promote Pitcher's Castoria oil (later renamed Fletcher's Castoria) The New York Almanac contains a calendar for 1890, astronomical information including the rising and setting of the sun and moon, and phases of the moon phases.

The antique almanac is filled with illustrations of healthy babies and testimonials from proud parents about the wonders of Pitcher's Castoria oil. The almanac's back cover has a lithograph of a beauty, healthy young girl. This copy of The New York Almanac was given away "Compliments of Geo. W. Smith, Mattawamkeag, Me. dealers in Dry Goods, Groceries and Crockery, Drugs, Medicines and Paints, Hats and Caps, Boots and Shoes, Hardware, Tinware and Stoneware, House and Farm, Utensils, & c., &c." -- in simpler terms, a general store. The George W. Smith house in Mattawamkeag, Maine is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The almanac has its original blue cord for hanging in a convenient place for easy consultation.

Made by Idealite, in Jersey City, N.J. back in the 1930s, this rare vintage globe light fixture features a steel transfer painted orb set in a cast metal meridian lamp. The vintage world globe has gold oceans, a time dial at the top, and spins freely in its full meridian frame.

The metal globe is unmarked, but was most likely made by J. Chein, the toy manufacturer, who produced globes for various lamp companies from the 1920s to the 1960s. The early 1930s globe shows British Somaliland, Italian Somaliland (dissolved in 1936 upon the formation of Italian East Africa), French West Africa, Belgian Congo, Rhodesia, Persia, and Chosen.

The vintage lamp has its original cloth electrical cord and light bulb socket. The light fixture works, but is not up to current electrical codes. It is suggested that the electrical wiring be upgraded to current standards before using the lamp as a light source.

Globe has a 6 inch diameter.
Light fixture is approximately 11 1/2 inches tall.
Marked Idealite Inc. Jersey City, N.J. on top of metal meridian.
Globe and metal base show age approximate wear including some paint loss, soiling, dings, and general wear.

Dating from the 1960s, this vintage hair style of the month poster would make a cool wall hanging in a hair salon, boutique, or anywhere you need a little retro flair.

Published in Chicago by Hair Style of the Month, this original poster was produced for display in hair and beauty salons across the United States. Printed on sturdy coated paper, the poster has an image on each side.

This poster was displayed in a Chicago hair salon and shows wear. One side of the double-sided poster is slightly faded from the sun. There is some wear around the edges and some tape residue at the top. A good framer would be able to straighten it out and make an amazing wall hanging.

This vintage school photo captured the promising young faces of Halsey Jr. High's class of 1935. Taken in Brooklyn, N.Y. on the school's sidewalk, the vintage photograph shows the girls in white shirt uniforms with dark neckerchiefs and the boys in suits and ties.

The vintage class photo has many charming details. I particularly like the girls who sport their neckerchiefs in untraditional ways. And those socks! Take a close look at the socks worn by the boys in the front seated rows.

The vintage panoramic class photo would make an interesting decor accent on its own or grouped with other photographs from the period.

This is a genuine photograph, not a reprint. As such is shows its age and the passage of time. The vintage photo is mounted on heavy photography cardboard that has a slight curvature, wear at the edges, spots and soiling. The bottom left-hand corner has torn off. The photograph itself is in very good condition.

Rare and wonderful antique children's book features very early Maud and Miska Petersham illustrations. One of the first book and records combinations for children, the set comes with its two original 78 rpm vinyl records and cardboard wrapper.

The antique 78 rpm records are in very good visual condition with no chips or cracks. There are a few light scratches on the vinyl and the paper labels. Beautiful facsimile edition of The Book of Hours of Jean, Duke of Berry published in 1971 by George Braziller captures the brilliance of this celebrated medieval illuminated manuscript.

Commission in 1407 by Jean, Duke of Berry, The Grandes Heures is a large Christian devotional book lavishly decorated with emblems, religious paintings, grotesque ornaments, elaborate initial letters, beautiful calligraphy, and other traditional illuminated manuscript motifs. The original copy of this medieval illuminated manuscript masterpiece is in the Bibliothèque Nationale de France.

The Braziller facsimile of The Grandes Heures is a great big heavy book printed in full color and true to scale of the original medieval manuscript.

Circa 1913 London Underground map, this rare antique subway map folds out at the back of an undated Alphabetical Pocket Guide to London issued by the Kingsley & Thackeray Hotels.

Measuring approximately 13 1/2 inches by 10 3/4 inches, the color map is in very good condition showing wear mostly around the edges, most notably on the bottom left-hand side with a small tear and a tiny bit of paper peal (please see photographs), as well as typical fold lines for a map found within a book.

The small tourist guide contains photographs of many popular London destinations and points of historic interest. The travel guide offers detailed descriptions of the Kingsley and Thackeray Hotels including room rates and meal prices.
