Vintage Hair Style of the Month poster captures the essence of 1960s chic in this gorgeous portrait of a stylish woman. The interesting vintage poster would make an amazing wall decoration in a modern beauty salon.

Published in Chicago by Hair Style of the Month, this original poster was produced for display in hair and beauty salons across the United States. The poster is printed on sturdy coated paper and has an image on both sides.

This poster was displayed in a Chicago salon and remarkably shows very little wear. One side of the double-sided poster is slightly faded from the sun (see photographs 2 & 4). The edges are in good condition showing minor wear. There is type residue on the each side of the poster near the top. The poster was stored rolled up for many years. A professional picture framer should be able to transform this poster into a beautiful wall hanging.

Poster is marked "Hair Style of the Month, Chicago, Illinois."

Measurements: 20" x 16".

This pair of beautiful antique gesso picture frames are the perfect accessories for shabby chic decor style.

These are genuine antique frames circa 1910. Each wooden oval frame looks to have been carved out of a single piece of wood.

The frames are in very good condition. The painted gesso finished has a few small chips, most notably on the wider frame. There is an old wire hanger attached to the wider frame. Neither frame includes glass.

Outside measurements are approximately 10 inches x 8 inches.

Gustavsberg Argenta art pottery made in Sweden has a pleasing form and a lovely turquoise color with silver overlay details. This small dish from the famous Swedish pottery house would make a nice addition to any decorative pottery collection.

The small pottery dish has a 4 1/8 inch diameter and is in good condition having no chips and no cracks. There is noticeable wear to the silver overlay around the rim. The dish has the Gustavsberg hallmark on the bottom along with the number 939, "Made in Sweden," and a partial paper label.

Vintage Ballantine Beer tray can be used as bar decor, man cave decor, or as intended as a serving tray.

Dating from the 1960s, the tray was used in its time and shows typical wear including dings, chipped and worn paint and scratches. The front of the tray is in much better condition than the back of the tray. There are several dents along the outer rim.

Primary known as a pulp and paper company, Georgia-Pacific started out in 1927 as a lumber company.

Listing is for a set of five (5) pencils. Multiple sets are available.

Found in an overlooked corner at an estate sale, I couldn't resist the sight of the vintage blue pencils in a bright yellow box. Pencils are circa late 1960s early 1970s and are in excellent unused condition.

Examining a celestial globe is a fun way to learn about the night sky. This small metal Replogle globe shows the stars and constellations in the night sky in great detail. The globe shows the Milky Way, has a scale guide indicating the magnitudes of the stars represented on the globe, and a series of red dots marking the path of the sun throughout the year.

The vintage star globe would make a cool gift for just about anyone, but particularly the astronomy or science enthusiast.

This is a vintage globe from the early 1970s. As such, the globe and its base shows wear consistent with its age including a few light scrapes, soiling, and spotting.

Vintage candle holder vase in the shape of a pitcher is an interesting mid-century glass piece made by L.E. Smith for their Fayette line of decorative glassware.

Designed in the late 1950s and manufactured into the 1970s, the glass vase has mid-century modern look. The vintage glass vase has a candle holder inside giving the piece a dual purpose. It can be used as a traditional vase or with a candle taper as a lantern.

The glass is a lovely, classic mid-century shade of blue turquoise.

The vintage glass vase candle holder is in good vintage condition. The piece has no chips and no cracks. There are a few bubbles in the glass from the manufacturing process.

This Florenza jeweled vanity pen is a rare and beautiful find. The jeweled pen is made up of individual gold beads separated by faux turquoise and faux ruby rings. Vintage pen is topped with a fleur de lis embedded with a faux ruby. The highly decorative pen comes with its original gold-tone stand.

Founded by Dan Kasoff, the legendary Florenza Jewelry Company was an expert designer and producer of high-quality costume jewelry, decorative vanity items and purse accessories. Florenza designed jewelry for many major 20th-century jewelry companies including Hattie Carnegie, Weiss, and Coro.

This is a genuine vintage Florenza piece circa 1960s. The pen and stand are in very good condition. The pen's ink cartridge has dried out and the pen does not write. It might be possible to find a replacement cartridge. The pen is made up of individual beads and which can be unscrewed and taken apart to change the cartridge.

Pen measures approximately 5 1/2" long and stands approximately 6 inches tall including the stand.

This set of angel candle huggers are unmarked but are identical to Howard Holt climbers that I've seen over the years.

Angel candle climbers are in very good vintage condition. No chips. No cracks. The figurines do have crazing typical of Japanese made ceramics of the period. Figurines show some wear on the bottom.

Vintage hand-sewn Muslim kufi cap has a hand embroidered design stitched in metallic thread and faux pearls. Also referred to as a taquiyah or topi, this beautiful vintage hat can be worn or displayed.

From the estate of a textile collector, the hat is from the early 20th century and was gently worn. There are a few stray threads and light wear to the velvet.

The velvet cap is lined with a mauve taffeta fabric. You can see the hand stitching. The embroidery motif is a series of leaves alternating with trees.

Hat has an 8" diameter and 22 1/2" circumference.

This trio of vintage laboratory glass bottles would look great on display by themselves or as part of larger grouping of chemistry glass.


I gave the bottles a light cleaning, preserving the patina of age. The bottles have residue and soiling inside. Should you prefer, you could certainly give them deep cleaning and remove the labels.

The smallest bottle does not have a stopper. It is marked " T.C.W. Co. U.S.A. 4" on the bottom. The medium-size bottle has the number "91" on the front of it, a glass stopper, and is marked "Wheaton USA" on the bottom. The largest bottle has a glass stopper marked "Pyrex 24." The stopper is chipped around the base that inserts into the bottle. The bottle is marked "Trade Mark F-8 Pyrex R Made in U.S.A." on the bottom.

Large Bottle: 8 1/4" tall including stopper, 3 1/4" base diameter
Medium Bottle: 6" tall including stopper, 2 1/2" base diameter
Small Bottle: 5 3/4" tall, 2 1/2" base diameter.

These bottles are part of a collection I recently acquired from a chemist who worked for Fritzsche, a company that made essential oils and chemicals for the perfume industry, back in the 1960s.

Designed for the owner to keep track of birthdays, the small vintage book has the days of the year on one side with a blank spaces for names on the other. Each page has a lovely border design.

The book can be used as intended or as a journal.

This is an antique book from the 1800s. It shows typical wear with light soiling and spotting on the cover, tanning paper, a small chip on the cover on the back just behind the spine, some light crumbling at the bottom of a few pages. The pages are clean. The book has not been used as intended and has no markings other than an inscription on the front endpaper " Best Wishes, Fred Norton."

Lovely vintage peacock embroidery weaving can be framed and used as an art wall hanging or repurposed into a pillow cover.

The machine-woven embroidered peacock textile is light weight and reversible. The vintage textile came out of an Armenian estate and is approximately 50 years old. The textile shows light wear and has holes on the upper and lower corners on the left-hand side (close up of one of the holes shown in photograph 3).

The image of the peacock has deep symbolic roots dating back to the Ancient Greeks who viewed it as a symbol of immortality. The Persians and Babylonians associated the peacock with heavenly paradise and the Tree of Life. The peacock is a Christian symbol of eternal life.

Sometime back in the late 1800s, a small boy boy holding a lion tamer's whip prop stared with a tentative, almost frightened gaze at a Berlin, Germany studio photographer's camera. Over one hundred years later, his image survives on three antique carte de visite.

These carte de visite are part of a treasure trove of photographs from one Berlin family. I have other photographs of this child as well as his parents and sibling. The collection is an interesting visual glimpse into the life of a wealthy German family in the late 1800s into the early part of the 20th century.

Carte de visite were invented in Paris by André Adolphe Eugène Disdéri in 1854. He also developed a method of producing eight separate negatives on one plate making it easier to produce multiple cards of an identical image. In the mid to late 1800s, carte de visite became all the rage and were traded among friends and relatives.

Cards are in good condition for their age showing typical wear including scratches, edge wear, rubbing, fading, and spotting. Each card has the number "3225" written on the back in pencil and as well as the gold gilt stamp of Samson & Co Berlin. The back of one card is obviously darkened with age.

Framed together, these striking carte de visite would make an unusual and unique piece of nursery or boy's room decor.

Cards measure approximate 4 1/8" x 2 1/2".

She appears to be cast out of plaster or some sort of composite material. She has nice detailing and an expressive face.
