This vintage miniature Halloween pumpkin head scarecrow is frightfully cute. Made in Hong Kong, add this Halloween decoration to a fall display, use it as a prop, or adopt him as your desk mascot.

This tiny charmer is molded from plastic and is in good condition for a figurine made in Hong Kong in the 1960s. He shows typical wear including some paint loss. The miniature figure is marked "Hong Kong" on the back.

Faux black lacquer Japanese tray with a playful fish design can be used for serving food and drinks, but could also be used as wall decor.

The blue fish has hints of green, gold & silver and really pops against the gold foil and black background. The fish has a red signature stamp near the bottom right-hand side.

Vintage beauty salon display poster shows a pretty strawberry blond with a modern 1960s hairdo. Dressed in what looks to be a wedding gown, the lovely model holds a bouquet of flowers.

Meant to be displayed in a hair salon window, the double-sided poster is printed on sturdy plastic coated paper.

The poster was stored rolled up for many years. It shows signs of use and wear. One side (see second photo) is faded. There are tears and chips as well as some scotch tape residue and soiling. A good picture framer could transfer this vintage poster art into an amazing walling hanging for your home or business.


Poster measures 20" x 16".

An intriguing photograph and photo postcard set of the same image, this striking photo of a family standing in a woodland setting was taken in Germany in the early 1900s.

The photograph postcard was sent to Franz Jasick residing in Berlin, Germany. The postcard has a 2 mark Deutsches Reich stamp canceled on 22 - 10 - 0?. This stamp first came into circulation in 1902. Photograph postcard has an undivided back, and is marked "O.R.G.M 141228" & C.E. & C. Reg." The postcard appears to be signed on the front with two signatures, possibly those of the man and woman in the photograph. The address is handwritten in beautiful calligraphy.

The sepia photograph and photograph postcard each have beautiful border details. The photograph and postcard show wear. The postcard has some soiling.

Jesick is one of the family names associated with a treasure trove of antique photographs I recently acquired from an estate sale. Most of the photographs in the lot were taken in and around Berlin, Germany in the late 1800s and early 1900s. I'll be listing the photographs in my shop over time. Inquiries about purchasing the entire lot are welcome.

I love old photographs. When I see them at estate and garage sales, I wonder how family members can let go of such interesting and revealing family artifacts.

New old stock Bridge for One pop-up playing card games by Milton C. Work, The International Authority, are a rare find. Each set of four (4) folded paper game sheets gives instructions on how to play bridge in three ways -- quoting from the back the game's description:

(a) As a contest with any number participating
(b) As a solitaire to test your own ability
(c) As a solitaire for educational purposes

Dating from the early 1930s, these games sheets were stashed away for many years and are in unused condition. Some of them showing soiling and creasing from storage, the paper is tanning from age, but they are so cool, and useable. Give them away as party favors at your next bridge game.

Each set contains four (4) game packets. Fourteen (14) packets are available.

Made in West Germany, these vintage magnetic toys are the ultimate in potty humor. Each miniature plastic little boy has a magnetized bottom and a magnetized pot. The lone original box bears the instruction, in English, German, & French, "Make the boy sit on the Pot."

Instructions:
"This is how it works. It will be found that the figure will, or will not, sit on the pot depending on which way up it is standing. A loose, false bottom is magnetically attached, and this bottom will remain in position at either the top or bottom end of the pot.

When your friend has seen the boy sitting on the post, pass the figure to him. While he is exam the figure quickly change the false bottom to the other end of the pot. When you have done this pass your friend the pot also and he will of course find that the boy refuses to sit in spite of all his efforts."

These are vintage magic trick toys and are being sold as one lot, and for display not for play.
There is a crumbling instruction sheet in German as well as one in English which is in good condition. All the figures show varying degrees of wear including paint loss and discoloration. A few of the pots are have small chips. The lot comes with only two false bottoms.

This fine American edition of the Peeps at Many Lands England and Wales has its original dust jacket illustrated with a girl and boy riding a magic carpet through the sky. The book contains sixteen beautiful color illustrations of English and Welsh landscapes.

The dust jacket is worn with chips, tears, and paper loss at the corners and at the top and base of the spine, as well as soiling. But, the dust jacket has served to beautifully preserve the decorative red cloth cover and paste-down illustration of an English cottage and garden. Pages show light browning from age but are supple. Pages are clean. Binding is tight.

This circa 1940s Dixie Lid Ice Cream Premium poster shows a young and handsome Richard Greene, best known for his role as Robin Hood in the 1950s British TV series.

Dixie produced these collectible movie star poster sheets in conjunction with 20th Century Fox movie studio. Dixie Ice Cream offered specially designed scrapbook looseleaf binders for fans to store their Hollywood star premium collections.

In exceptionally good condition, the card stock sheet has two punch holes for insertion in a binder. There is some light wear around the punched holes which have been reinforced around the edges. Colors are vibrant. Back printed with additional photographs and description of the star.

An interesting historical document, this illustrated guide gives an in-depth description of the museum's collections and their locations within the historic building. The advertisements in the back of the book add a charming touch. Photograph 5 shows my favorite, "Visit the Tchecoslovaquia."

The cover shows wear and there is some peeling as shown in the photographs. Pages show aging typical of a book from the 1960s. Binding is tight.

Burke's Speeches at Bristol Previous to the Election and Declining the Poll are considered masterworks of oratory.

This book was much loved and reviewed by its former owner who wrote his name and a date in ink on the front end paper -- Joseph W. Howe A.B. 1931. The book is heavily annotated throughout and there are old paper clips holding pages 55 through 78 & pages 85 through 92 together.

The most curious personal touch found on this vintage book, is the notation inked on the page edges " Open Only On Dec. 25 Santa Claws."

Exquisite Japanese obi sash, this smaller version of a formal maru obi has an elaborate peony and butterfly design in shades of orange, a traditional color for a child's obi sash, with accents of gold and blue.

Woven from silk, the obi belt is heavy weight and rather stiff. This beautiful vintage textile would make an amazing wall hanging. This early 20th century child's kimono obi belt could also be used as a table runner.
