This vintage owl Christmas card was once part of a Henri Fayette greeting card sample book. Use this wide-eyed owl as a holiday decoration or in a scrapbooking project. The owls arms open out and body lifts up revealing a blank space for writing a personalize holiday greeting.

The card does not have its original envelope, but I will sent the owl along with a complementary vintage envelope.


The owl is 7" tall and 5 1/8" at his widest point and is marked "Henri Fayette Chicago U.S.A." on his back. He has a spot on his back where he was once attached to a sample book page. Hallmark purchased the Henri Fayette company in 1957.

The mesh black hair net is unused and wrapped in its original paper. The paper envelope shows wear with creasing, tears, and some paper loss on the back flap.

Vintage Fred Sweney "Fins & Feathers" double playing card set in its original plastic case -- this is indeed a rare find.

Printed by Brown & Bigelow, an advertising speciality company founded in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1896, this double set of playing cards with bird and fish designs comes in a red plastic case with clear plastic cover with "Ell-Bee Chemical Co." printed in gold letters. The set includes a folded notecard with a deer in the woods illustration and a brief description of Sweney & his art.

Known for his detailed and accurate wildlife art, Fred Sweney's illustrations appeared in Field & Stream, National Geographic, among other publications. A graduate of the Cleveland School of Art, he taught illustration for over 25 years at the Ringling School of Art & Design.

The plastic case is in very good condition. It is marked "Remembrance Brown & Bigelow, St. Paul, Minn. U.S.A." The card decks are sealed in their original cellophane packages with tax stamps intact. There are several tears in the cellophane. Notecard is in very good condition.

Case measures 5" x 4 1/8" x 1 1/8"; Playing Card Decks measure 3 1/2" x 2 1/4" x 5/8".

Archer & swordmen warriors on horseback engaged in battle make for a dramatic scene on this vintage little black papier mache trinket box from India. The box is so colorful and pretty, it takes you a moment to realize there are several disembodied arms on the field.

This is a very old box. It is in very good condition for its age. There is a minor chip on the top along the edge which is barely noticeable (it is on the darker horse's back.) There is also some wear on the bottom of the box near the edge. This wear is on the box bottom and does not effect the design or show when the box is displayed.

Vintage 1930s German creche display has a rustic wood stable, chalkware baby Jesus, wooden manger, and paper mache Mary & Joseph figures. This set could be the start of your vintage Christmas nativity or putz village display.

Condition: The stable is in very good vintage condition. The manger is in good condition in that it is not missing any of its parts. The manger is constructed from 4 pieces of wood with slots that fit together. The glue that secures the side slots to the base has come apart on one side. The piece needs to be re-glued for stability. I will leave this repair up to you. Baby Jesus is in good condition with some chipping on his halo. Mary is in very good condition. There is some separation at her base and some crackling on her paint. Joseph has a chip on his nose but otherwise is in good condition. Mary & Joseph are marked "Germany" on the bottom

Meaurements:
The stable is large measuring approximately 8 1/4" tall x 9 3/4" wide x 6" deep. Mary and Joseph are about 4" tall. Baby Jesus is 2" long.

Party Time For Boys and Girls vintage vinyl LP record harks back to the days when most children's birthday parts consisted of cake, ice cream, a round of Hokey Pokey and Pin the Tail on the Donkey.

A bit of baby boomer nostalgia, this recording of classic children's music from the 1950s captures all the party favorites.

The cover graphic is just so retro and awesome. Frame it and hang it on the wall. It would make a great gag birthday gift for a baby boomer.

This record album is more for show than for play. There is a scratch which may effect the albums full playability. The album sleeve has separated along the bottom, but is otherwise in good shape.

The album sleeve includes instructions for playing the Hokey Pokey, Counting Song, Here We Go Looby-Loo, I'm a Little Tea-Pot and the Bunny Hop. The sleeve also has extensive "technical data" describing the recording process, frequency ranges and how to play the record.

This vintage illuminated 10 inch Replogle Precision globe designed by Gustav Brueckmann captures the world's political boundaries during a time of great transition. Israel has been established (1948), yet Korea has not yet been divided into North & South (1948). Jordan is marked as Transjordan (1946 - 1948). Germany has not been divided into East and West (1949).

What makes this vintage globe extra special is that it is glass. It is not made out of pasteboard. The glass orb is coated with paper gores which are in very good condition for a 65+ year-old globe. There is some minor paper loss which is most noticeable when the globe is illuminated.

The globe has a metal base and a half meridian which have a nice patina of age. The silver coating along the edge of the meridian has worn away. There is pitting on the base

The globe also has a night and day time dial at the North Pole.

I tested the light and it works. The cord appears to be original to the globe. You may want to have the electrical cord replaced as it is vintage any may not be up to current electrical standards. Please make sure you use a very very low wattage bulb in your globe.

Two vintage 1960s scatter pin bees are ready to bring a buzz to your spring wardrobe. These adorable little bees have interesting marbleized bead bodies with textured gold-tone metal wing and red enamel eyes.

Size 8 1/2 vintage woven ecru linen Bonwit Teller "Venus" t-straps are the perfect summer shoes for the office, special occasion, or whenever you want to wear sophisticated footwear. Fine handmade craftsmanship make this a pair of shoe that you will have for years to come.

The shoes are in remarkable condition. The fine leather soles are virtually new. The linen has "rusted" a bit in places, and there is a very small black mark on the left shoe. The spot is so close to the sole that it is barely noticeable when worn. The spot and rusting may come out with cleaning. I will leave this up to you and a good shoe marker. The size and department store code are hand written on the inside of the strap.

How could you not think "Happy Thoughts" looking at this sweet antique postcard? Kittens, a perennially favorite motif, as appealing today as they were in 1910. Add these cool 100-year old cats to your collection.

The postcard was the Twitter of it's time. A revolutionary idea that cropped up in several world locations in the mid-1800s, the concept of the postcard bears a remarkable similarity to our contemporary Twitter. Emanuel Herrmann, considered the person who championed the use of what was to become a popular method of communication, proposed his postcard idea to the Austrian postal service in 1869 through an article in the Neue Freie Presse, the leading Austrian newspaper (remember those?). These small plain cards without pictures or adornments were to have a 20-word limit including address and the sender's signature.

In 1861, U.S.A. postal service began allowing the posting of cards weighing an ounce or less for the cost of 1 cent within a 1000 mile delivery zone.

Postmarked on January 3, 1910 at 7 p.m. in Albion, Maine, this postcard was sent to Miss Eva Copeland from Ellen who wrote a note in pencil. The card is in excellent vintage condition. One corner is peeling up slightly.

Hang a piece of history on your wall. This dramatic Cold War era propaganda poster was a winner in the Marshall Plan European Recovery Program's 1950 poster contest promoting European unity and cooperation.

Designed by Swedish artist Erik Oelmebo, the art poster shows all the European countries involved with the Marshall Plan pulling together to accomplish "Samarbette for Fred, Frihet, Hogre Levnadsstandard" -- Co-operation for Peace, Freedom, and a Higher Standard of Living.

This poster is an original lithograph from 1950 and is in remarkable condition for its age. It was part of the estate of a graphic artist who collected all 25 winning posters in the Marshall Plan poster contest. The posters were all stored flat in a drawer in a climate-controled studio. The poster shows some wear around the edges with very small tears, but no paper loss. The colors are vibrant.
