Dating from 1925, this vintage Berlitz Italian language instruction book would make a fun gift for a language instructor or interesting travel-themed decor accent. The vintage book has a list of there Berlitz titles at the front as well as several advertising pages at the back.

Genuine vintage from 1925, not a recent reprint, the book was used by its previous owner who made extensive pencil notations throughout the volume. The book shows typical wear along the spine and the pages are toned from age.

Lovely antique art nouveau era brass expandable bookends have detailed reliefs of the ancient Greek physician Hippocrates on each end along with his famous quote from the Aphorismi, "Ars Long Vita Brevis," or as we say in English, "Art is Long Life is Short."

Cast in brass, the metal bookends have a nice patina of age including some light rust and corrosion spots.

The vintage bookends are marked 9865 at each end but do not have any other maker's hallmark.

A striking example of an iconic Akua'ba fertility doll from the Akan tribe in Ashanti region of Ghana, this vintage hand-carved wooden sculpture has brass triangle inlays around her head and intricate micro bead detailing on her face.

Brought back in the 1970s from an African trip, the vintage wood figure shows signs of age from being on display. She is missing a few micro beads most notably on one of the salamander's back legs.

This beautiful carved wood figure stands approximately 9 1/4" tall and is about 3 1/4" wide and 3" deep.

Vintage lot of calligraphy nib holders can be displayed or used to write old-fashioned lettering.

Two of the nib holders are marked "Esterbrook #35 Made in U.S.A." These vintage calligraphy pen nib holders are made from wood and have a heavy coating of black lacquer. One of these lettering pens comes with a Hunt Artist nib.

The third nib holder is marked "Speedball." It is molded from plastic and comes with a Joseph Gillott's 404 nib.

The vintage calligraphy pen nib holders and the nibs are used and show wear with some nicks to the lacquer and dried ink on the nib tips.

Esterbrook nib holders are approximately 5 1/8" long without a nib.
The Speedball nib holder is approximately 7" long without a nib.

This antique bible has a decorative brass clasp and brass edges around the front and back leather covers. Published in 1867, this vintage bible has beautiful detailing on the leather covers, gold gilt title lettering, gold gilt page edges, and hand-marbled endpapers.

A small gem, the antique bible would make a special gift for a collector or unique decor accent in your home.

This antique bible shows typical wear from use and the passage of time. The pages are tones with age, the brass edges have a nice patina. A piece of the brass edge from along the top cover edge is beginning to separate from the volume but is secure. The brass clasp is in good working order. The leather cover is quite beautiful and shabby chic.

A striking and artful depiction of the Temptation of Christ on the Mountain, this wood panel appears to be some sort of antique printing block. The vintage biblical artwork is rendered in great detail showing Satan tempting Christ on the summit of a mountain.

Made by Vanderburgh Wells & Company, a 19th-century manufacturer of wood type, borders, and rules, the wood panel is stamped "V.W. & Co 18 Dutch St N.Y." on the back. Vanderburgh Wells was in business in New York from 1867 - 1890.

The wood panel art work is made up of three individual printing blocks bolted together. Overall, the wood printing block art is in good condition showing typical wear with scuffing and scratching, and spotting. There is a small chip along the edge of the top panel piece, and the bottom piece has a separation along a seam. The surfaces of the wooden blocks are smooth and not carved like typical wood blocks. The artwork is signed "Mettais" on the bottom corner as shown in photograph nine along with a second name that is very hard to read.

This vintage pencil lot features a wide array of quality writing and drawing tools including five Eagle Pencil Company Diagraph 817 No 2 pencils, three Dixon Thinex colored pencils, a Kor-i-Noor Flixicolor, an A.W. Faber "Castell" 2H and an Eagle Verithin all housed in a vintage Dixon Ticonderoga pencil box.

All twelve vintage pencils have been sharped and are in overall good condition. The pencils in the vintage lot range from 5 1/4" to almost 7 1/2" inches (the Eagle Diagraphs). The vintage Dixon Ticonderoga cardboard pencil box shows typical wear with some paper loss at the corners.

One box of antique Bay State Thread Works Seamsew thread would be a fabulous find. Finding two boxes of this rare vintage thread is beyond awesome.

In amazing condition for their age, the boxes are in beautiful condition with some small tears on the top box lids. Made by the Bay State Thread Works in Springfield, Massachusetts, the vintage black thread is unused and complete on their wooden spools. The spool labels are a bright red. The boxes have a wonderful graphic of "Susanna Seamsew" at her sewing machine while a little girl holding a doll observes her as she sews. Each box has a price (5¢) lightly marked in pencil on the top.

The thread box carton is designed to fit directly onto a sewing machine spindle.

Made by the Eagle Lock Company, this is a curious antique key. It could be an antique Edison phonograph key, as the brass dolphin head casting was used by the Eagle Lock Company for phonograph cabinet keys. It could be an antique truck key. It could be an antique cabinet key.

What is sure by the markings is that it was made by the Eagle Lock Company in Terryville Connecticut. Similar keys were made circa 1917 for Edison phonograph cabinets.

The antique brass key is in remarkably good condition for its age with some patina to the metal. The dolphin casting is well defined and quite lovely. The vintage brass key has a nice heft to it for its size.

The antique key could be repurposed as a unique pendant.
