No serious library would be complete without a copy of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. This vintage edition of the classic Middle English verse and prose work has illustrations by Rockwell Kent. The hefty book has decorative endpapers, an introduction by Gordon Hall Gerould, and typography by Robert Josephy.

This is a vintage book published in 1934. It has been enjoyed and read over the years. The mustard colored cloth binding has a paper paste down illustration of a Medieval crusader by Rockwell Kent and another paper paste down on the spine with the book's title. The cover shows light soiling. The book has a gift inscription on the front endpaper "With Love to Robin and Dick on their first Christmas from Marjorie and Frank on their eighth." Front webbing is slightly exposed. Pages are clean. Binding is tight.

Vintage Bell Labs glass paperweight reminded its owner to "Safeguard Classified Information." This super cool industrial paperweight would make a unique gift for a digital-age tech geek or executive.

The glass dome paperweight is in very good vintage condition. There are a few manufacturing imperfections in the glass. The paper weight has a green felt bottom onto which someone affixed a paper label with the initials "T.I.L." The paperweight has a stylized American flag design with the phrase "Safeguard Classified Information" and "Bell Telephone Laboratories" under the glass.

Published in 1910 by the British Museum, this collection of three portfolio volumes contains high-quailty collotype art reproduction plates from medieval illuminated manuscripts including book of hours, psalters, breviaries, missals, and a variety of additional sources.

The plates are loose, not bound into their hard covers. Each folder has fifty black & white art reproductions along with a preface section with a list of plates. The reproductions are in good condition showing some light tanning of the paper around the edges. The hardcover portfolio covers show wear including fading to the blue cover paper, chipping of the paper title spine labels, light dust soiling, and some marking. One cover has several ink scribbles on it. Each volume has a pencil notation on the Preface cover indicating that it belongs to a 3 - volume art set costing at the time 15 British pounds. Overall, this is good set of a scarce British Museum publication.

Three volumes from Britain in Pictures book series have decorative covers, color art plates, and numerous black and white illustrations. The attractive book set would make a great gift for an Anglophile, or unique decor accent in an English themed interior design scheme.

Launched in 1941 by Collins (now HarperCollins) when Europe was in the throes of World War II and the battle against the Germans was looking pretty grim, the Britain in Pictures series was a morale booster and reminder of what England was fighting for. Contributors to the series included George Orwell, Graham Greene, and Edith Sitwell. The series proved so popular that volumes continued to be published into 1949, with many volumes going into multiple printings. Book topics included such diverse subjects as boxing, birds, engineering, English farming, and British scientists.

The books are in overall good condition. The dust jackets are torn and worn around the edges with chipping on the spines, but they served their purpose and protected the decorative hardcover bindings. Pages are lightly tanned with age. The English Bible has a previous owner's name (Roland Edwards) and the date "F 16/2/45" written in blue ink on the front right-handside endpaper, "F 16/2/45" written in red on the front dust jacket flap, and some notations in red pencil.

The book is in good condition for its age. The volume has some dust soiling and the front cover shows some wear and rubbing. The back cover is stained (see photograph 3). I bought two wood-handled horse hair brushes at an estate sale recently and have discovered that a horsehair brush is the ideal tool to dust off a laptop computer. As I only need one brush, I am offering the other for sale. The brush has nice patina of age and cool industrial look. Hang it on the wall as a decor element when not in use.

The brush was once owned by a professional draftsman. The horse hair is in excellent and clean condition. The wood handle shows wear and has dings and scratches typical for a used tool. The handle is marked "Sterilized Hair Made in U.S. A.," & has a hole in it for a rope, making it easy to hang the brush near your desk for easy access.

Wood handle is approximately 14 1/4" long x 1" at its widest point. Horse hair brush area is approximately 9" long x 1 3/4" at this widest point.

Beautiful high-quality vintage Jay Yang fabric has an Asian inspired silk screened floral print in shades of brown, gold & rust. The fabric remnant is almost 4 yards long and suitable for a variety of sewing and craft projects.

The fabric content is not marked but is feels like cotton. The piece was unevenly cut along the selvedge on one side but the "Jay Yang" label is present.

This lovely little porcelain Limoges dish can be used as a trinket tray or hung in a grouping with other antique plates. Marked "Oscar Gutherz Limoges" and "Pat. Aug. 21. 83" (that's as in 1883), the dish has an unusual triangular shape and a beautiful hand painted floral design. You can see the brush strokes.

The dish is in very good condition. No cracks. No chips. No crazing. There is some gold paint loss around the rim.

A vintage travel alarm clock makes a very cool retro desk accessory. The clock, in the shape of a world globe, hinges open to reveal the clock face, the setting buttons, and winding keys.

This is a genuine vintage alarm clock from the 1950s. The metal casing show wear particularly around the hinges where it was most likely held while being set and wound. Casing has a flat bottom to prevent the globe from rolling when closed.

The clock was tested and keeps time. The alarm works, but is not very loud. This is a mechanical clock, meaning you must wind it up for it to run (being careful not to over wind it). It does not run on a battery. The clock is currently in working condition, but please note that it is a vintage piece that may need need service from a professional at some point to continue keeping accurate time.

Made by Europa, the clock is marked "7 Jewels" on the clock face and "Germany" inside the bottom half of the globe

Globe has a 2 1/2 inch diameter.

This vintage science fiction book has a cool cover graphic worthy of display that would make a unique decor accent in an office, media room, or man cave.

Initially serialized in the magazine Imagination, George O. Smith's sci fi classic was first published in book form as Highways in Hiding, and then revised and published by Avon Books as Space Plague.

Printed on pulp paper, the vintage paperback has tanned pages typical for publications printed on cheap paper. The cover is bright and shows minimal wear. Spine shows some wear. Binding is tight. Overall, a good clean copy of a collectible science fiction title.

Arthur Edward Waite's The Pictorial Key to the Tarot is a classic guide to tarot symbolism and fortuning telling. Waite (1857-1942), a poet and mystic, was a prolific author on esoteric subjects from divination, Freemasonry, Kabbalism, alchemy, ceremonial magic as well as the co-creator of the Rider-Waite Tarot card deck.

This vintage paperback edition of Waite's tarot book is fully illustrated with 78 black & white art plates. Published in 1971, the book shows signs of wear and use including light soiling, paper loss on the cover, staining on the page edges, and a red mark on the title page. Other than the staining on the page fore edges (looks like some one splashed coffee or tea), the pages are clean.

Vintage Erector Set ferris wheel structure has a cool industrial look. Use the metal model as a decor element in a man cave, office, workshop, or anywhere you want a quirky vibe.

The ferris wheel model is old and incomplete. Look closely and you will see that it is missing several parts. I do not know exactly how many parts are missing, but the ferris wheel has missing rails on each side, along with some missing screws and missing gondolas. There may be other parts missing as well that are not as evident. The ferris wheel spins freely. The old toy was stored for many years and has a deep patina of age. It dates from at least 1960s and possibly earlier.

This vintage Erector set model is being sold "as is." Display it as is, use it for parts, or restore it.

The entire structure stands 21 1/2" tall. The base measures approximately 10 1/2" x 4 3/4." Ferris wheel has approximately an 18 1/2" diameter.

The metal lunar globe has a 6 inch diameter, shows great surface details including craters and seas, the landing sites of unmanned moon landings, as well as the first manned Apollo 11 landing on July 20, 1969.

The small moon globe has four dents ( the most noticeable ones near Mare Serenitatis, the Maxwell Crater, & Manzimus, and some light rusting at the center seam. The moon globe comes with its original plastic base, referred to as the Tranquility Base, made to look like the moon's surface. The base is in very good condition.

This rare set of Jenny Nystrom fairy tale art prints is simply extraordinary. Published in Christiania, Norway (modern Oslo), the set includes:

There is a tear at the top of the little red riding hood print. There is a small chip at the bottom of the Snow White print. The matting boards are not in good condition. They are torn and taped. A previous owner wrote the English translation of each image in pencil at the top and on the back of each matting card. The brown cloth-bound hardcover folio shows wear including rubbing, fraying, & soiling.

Prints measure approximately 5 3/8" x 4" on 8 1/4" x 6 1/2" matting cards.

Based in Watertown, N.Y., the Shaughnessy Knitting Co. produced their Olovnit knitted underwear and stockings during the flapper era. This collectable vintage tape measure has a white celluloid casing with a gold and blue transfer label.

Made in the 1920s, the cloth measuring tape is in good vintage condition. The retractable tape measure is in working order, but given its age, should be handled gently. The casing is in very good condition with slight signs of wear. The lovely vintage sewing tape measure would make a great gift for the collector.
