Vintage custom-made little black dress is big on style. This striking cocktail dress has a beaded and sequined bodice, peplum shirt and back zipper.

The dress was tailor-made for its previous owner and does not have maker's, sizing, and fiber content labels. The fabric feels like wool crepe. The dress fits like a small. Zipper begins at the middle of the back not at the neckline. This is a beautifully made dress!

The dress is in very good vintage condition. It has a few missing beads & sequins in a small spot near the underarm on the left-hand side. Dress was attic stored & would benefit from a professional dry cleaning. Garment is priced accordingly.

Dress is shown on a 36 1/2" bust, 25" waist, 35" hip dress model.

Antique German Bible published by the American Bible Society in 1896 has a beautiful decorative cloth binding depicting a cathedral window. Measuring 5 3/4" x 4", the small book fits comfortably in the hand.

What makes this bible extra special is the previous owner's beautiful calligraphy nameplate (Mary C. Hollenback) on the front inside endpaper and a small inserted scrap of paper. There is also the inscription "Easter Sunday 1962" on the page opposite the title page.

The scrap of paper states:
1900 January 14 Rev J. Bartholomew preach his first text in Freidnes (sp?) church 1 Mose, 28, chapter 12 verse. Stony Run. Pa.

The bible is in very good condition. There is typical wear on the binding for an 100+ year-old cloth covered book. Wear is mostly at the corners and the bottom of the spine. Binding is tight. Pages are clean.

This Victorian fleur de lis watch fob pin has great antique charm. The green enamel over textured brass give the pin a very rich look. Also referred to as a watch chatelaine, this piece of Victorian jewelry was used in its day to decoratively hang a small pocket watch on ones apparel.

A true antique, this watch fob shows its age. The green enamel is chipped in several places and also shows rubbing and wear. The brass has an aged patina and some verdigris on the back. Please look closely at the photographs for more information about condition, and please do not hesitate to ask questions.

The small pin measures approximately 1 1/8" x 1".

An incredible example of crewel embroidery, this vintage textile needlework piece can be transformed into a wall hanging or pillow.

Worked on a white linen background with wool thread in a vibrant 1970s flower design, the crewel embroidery is complete and in very good condition. The linen fabric, measuring 35 inches x 17 inches, has been folded in half and has a crease line. There are a few spots that should come out with washing. Note the word "top" below the crease line above the crewel work. Black basting stitches outline the pillow cover back dimension. There is a dry cleaners tag pinned to one corner.

Ready for finishing, you can make a pillow cover, frame it for a wall hanging, or use it in another craft project.

"Seve Nouvelle Vie Meilleure" or "New Sap, Better Life" by artist Andre Golven won a fifth place prize in the European Recovery Program (ERP) - Marshall Plan's Intra-European Cooperation for a Better Standard of Living poster contest in 1950. This French poster entry shows a sapling rooted in a unified base of European flags uplifted by a strong hand.

A panel of graphic artists from the countries benefiting from the Marshall Plan selected 25 winning posters from over 10,000 entries. The posters are graphically stunning pieces of political propaganda and historically interesting bits of ephemera from the early Cold War era.

The poster is in very good condition. It has only minor edge wear. The poster will come to you encased in a removable archival sleeve (acid free Krystal Seal).

This Coro world globe charm bracelet with an orbiting moon is a very special piece of vintage jewelry. Rare to find, and unusual in design, the charm depicts the earth as an old world globe with a full meridian. Look closely and you'll see a small gold moon suspended in orbit around the earth.

The heavy gold-tone charm bracelet is marked "Coro" on the clasp and is in very good vintage condition. The charm is in good condition. There is some wear to the old world map imprint on the plastic globe. The piece dates to the 1950s.

Charm measures approximately 1 1/4".
Bracelet measures 7 1/2" long.

You child is unlikely to want to be a telephone operator, but as an adult of a certain age, you'll get a kick out of this children's book detailing a now antiquated job. The illustrations were very modern for the time.

Written by Carla Greene and designed by Mary Gehr, this child's career book is part of a series published in the late 1950s and early 1960s by the Children's Press. The green cloth binding has yellow graphics of children dressed in the clothing for various careers, such as a fireman, doctor, teacher, cowboy, seamstress, baker, and football player.

Would make a great gift for someone who works in today's fast paced telecommunications industry.

Book is in good condition for a 50+ year-old children's book that was used in a public school system. The cloth binding is fraying at the edges and has worn away completely at the top and base of the spine. Binding is tight. One page has a small tear at the top ( see photograph four). Book has a date (May 29, 1961) and Cedar Grove, N.J. Board of Education stamp on the front right-hand side endpaper.

Vintage burgundy velvet hand-sewn Muslim kufi cap has a hand embroidered design rendered in metallic thread and faux pearls. Also referred to as a taquiyah or topi, this beautiful vintage hat can be worn or displayed.

From the estate of a textile collector, the hat is from the early to mid-20th century and was gently worn. There are a few stray threads and light wear to the velvet.

The velvet cap is lined with a mauve taffeta fabric. You can see the hand stitching. The embroidery motif is a series of leaves alternating with trees.

Hat has an 8" diameter and 22 1/2" circumference.

This fabulous flamingo pink platonite glass sugar bowl with a gold rim is a bit of a mystery. It's the only Hazel Atlas Ovide piece I've come across in flamingo pink with a gold rim. There are no markings on the piece, but this shape sugar bowl was produced by Hazel Atlas from about 1920 to 1950.

Use it for sugar, condiments, flowers. Fits into any decor.

The piece has a few scratches with a little paint loss, but no chips or cracks.

Won't your pot luck dinner tuna casserole look delicious and cool in this shiny Buenilum aluminum covered serving dish with glass Pyrex insert?

Created by Frederick Buehner-Warner, a member of the German designer association Deutscher Werkbund, an important forerunner to the Bauhaus, Buenilum aluminum ware was produced from 1933 through the 1970s in the United States.

Bearing the Buenilum stamp and castle logo on the bottom, this serving casserole is in very good vintage condition, as is the glass 1 1/2 quart Pyrex insert. There are some minor scratches from normal use.

This Christian cross and holy spirit pendant necklace is the perfect gift for a Sunday school teacher. Designed and made by the Terra Sancta Guild, the beautiful enamel religious medal has the dove of the holy spirit within a cross on the front, and "Educator in Christ" (represented by the Chi Rho symbol) on the back.

Although vintage from the early 1970s, the cross necklace was never worn and comes in its original presentation box. The pendant necklace is on a silky navy blue cord that ties around the neck.

Pendant measure approximately 2 3/4" x 2 3/8". The cord is approximately 19" long.

Vintage crochet blue & white afghan blanket throw handmade in the 1970s is just the right touch for your retro decor.

I found this afghan in a bin with two others at an estate sale at a home that was frozen in time circa 1975. Everyone else was going crazy over the glassware but I realized right away that this blanket was an exceptional example of a simple crochet shell stitch pattern. Even more remarkable, it's in amazing condition. No holes, tears, pulls, or unraveling. In shades of blue and white, the colors bring the ocean to mind.

Handmade vintage textiles remind me of the continuity between generations. Forty years or so ago, someone took the time to make a blanket for her family. She most likely learned the stitch she used to make the afghan from her mother or grandmother, who learned the stitch from her mother, and on it goes back into history. Crochet is an ancient art and this afghan is a fine 1970s example of that art.

The afghan has been laundered and is ready for use.

Contents: 100% Acrylic Yarn
Care: Machine wash in delicate cycle with mild soap. When I washed it, I laid it flat and let it partially dry, then put it in the dryer on low.

Vintage 1940s romance novel by Carol Morris, Honeymoon in Bermuda is a classic formulaic love story. The book was published in 1948 by Arcadia House, a now defunct publisher of popular westerns and romance novels.

This first edition copy of Honeymoon in Bermuda is missing its dust jacket. The front & back endpapers have a library stamp from the Pilgrim Church S.S. Library in red. The front endpaper also has a hand written note "Given by Florence A Goodhue." The book has a library card pocket in the back along with the volume's Gaylord library due date loan card.

The cover shows wear including rubbing, bumping at the corners, spots and some glue residue on the back. The first few pages of the book have brown spots on the lower edge and a few pages have some smudges. Paper shows typical signs of aging.

Packed with color plate illustrations, black & white photographs, and drawings, this vintage German language cookbook contains 500 recipes as well as newspaper clipped and handwritten recipes.

Published in Leipzig, Germany in 1930, Illustriertes Kochbuch by Mary Hahn, covers cooking and ingredients from the simple to the complex. The book is printed in a gothic German font.

Whether or not you can read German, this is an interesting piece of culinary history.

The book is in acceptable to poor condition. It was obviously well used in its time. The spine is covered with silver duct tape, the front endpaper and title pages have separated from the volume as have the back endpapers. The pages show typical yellowing. Some pages have soiling.

These cute white & gold vintage angel candle climbers will add a touch of whimsy to your holiday table. Popular in the 1950s, candle huggers, or climbers, were made to fit on standard taper candles.

This set of angel candle huggers are unmarked but are identical to Howard Holt climbers that I've seen over the years.

Angel candle climbers are in very good vintage condition. No chips. No cracks. The figurines do have crazing typical of Japanese made ceramics of the period. Figurines show some wear on the bottom.

Vintage Ballantine Ale & Beer tray can be used as bar decor or as intended as a serving tray.

Dating from the 1960s, the tray was used in its time and shows typical wear including dings, chipped and worn paint and scratches. The front of the tray is in much better condition than the back of the tray. There are several dents along the outer rim.

Cool vintage Kentucky Derby advertising "Derby Day" puzzle has interlocking sliding square tiles printed with a scene of horses racing at Churchill Downs.

A vintage Kentucky Derby souvenir, the puzzle is in its original packaging and has never been opened or played with. The puzzle's black frame is marked "Hong Kong."

And the packaging is cool too! The name of the puzzle appears to be "Puzzle of Alphabet" as they are the most prominent words. The puzzle is billed as "a game of knowledge and skill for all ages." The packaging proclaims the game is "educational!" &"provides hours of entertainment!"

What a great gift for a Kentucky Derby or horse racing fan.
