In 1938, Cincinnati Red pitcher Johnny Vander Meer set the the baseball record considered the hardest to break for pitching the most consecutive no-hit innings against the Boston Bees at Crosley Field and the Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbets Field.

A beautiful specimen of Art Nouveau bronze work, this pin tray is also a fine example of a "naughty," a decorative dish with an image of a woman that when turned over reveals her naked derriere. Finely wrought, this footed bronze dish has great detail showing an array of flora and a lovely long haired lady peering through the leaves. She appears to be sticking out her tongue.
This rare & sassy Art Nouveau pin tray would make an amazing gift for the collector.
Tray measures approximately 6 1/2" x 5 1/2" and stands 1 1/4" tall and is in very good vintage condition. There are a few spots of age-related patina in the leaves, on one of her arms, on the back, and tray feet. The tray is very heavy for its size weighing 2 lbs.

A colorful trio of vintage glass Christmas ornaments, hang these small bell-shaped decorations on your tree for a traditional holiday look. The silver bell rings! The bells have spots and wear typical for glass ornaments of their age -- they are from the 1950s.

This is a very beautiful, high-quality scarf, not kitschy or garish. The finely drawn poinsettia, pinecones and holly are outlined in gold and are set on a black background.
Oblong and easy to wear, this sheer scarf is in excellent vintage condition. The previous owner removed the content tag, but from the feel of it, I'd say the scarf is polyester. It's feels very soft and silky. Can be worn as a scarf or a shoulder wrap.

Rare vintage Raymond Peynet Rosenthal "Ponytail Girl" brandy snifters, these crystal glasses from the 1960s are truly hard to find. Listing is for a set of 6 glasses.
Raymond Peynet (1908 - 1999) was a French illustrator and designer most famously known for his beloved "Les Amoureux de Peynet" characters.
In near mint condition, each one of these Rosenthal crystal glasses is etched with Peynet's iconic "Ponytail Girl" with two birds undoing her corset.
Each glass has an etched "Peynet" signature and the Rosenthal marked on the bottom.

This Western Publishing (W. P. Co) Racine, Wis, vintage playing card deck has a collectible double-ended joker. Cards are marked "Made in U.S.A. W. P. Co., Racine, Wis No. 1885 Champions." The deck is complete with one double joker and is in very good condition. There is some minor wear on the box. Would make a great gift for the dog lover in your life.

Large Hummel knockoff figurine of a boy in oversized shoes with a pipe, this young hobo lad wears a hat, blue jeans, detailed printed kerchief, and has a smudge of his nose. He has a red number, 2843/44, on the sole of one of his shoes, but no other markings.
This fine fellow was among a treasure trove of circa 1960s Japan figurines from an estate sale in Paterson, NJ. He is in very good condition. No chips, no cracks, no crazing. There is a little bit of paint loss on his sleeve and belly.

This collection of Sigma Pi fraternity initiation banquet booklets gives an interesting insight into the inside workings of a frat during the 1920s as well as a bit of culinary history.
Located on the campus of Cornell University, the Mu chapter of Sigma Pi held their initiation banquets at The Lodge in Ithaca, N.Y. This collection includes five (5) Sigma Pi booklets spanning from November 1923 to November 1926. Four of the booklets are bound in purple suede leather, and one has a folded card-stock cover. Each booklet includes the menu for the event, program, list of initiates, & a list of current fraternity brothers. The purple leather booklets each have an autograph section. Only the booklet from November 1923 has autographs of the fraternity brothers.
The booklets from 1923 to 1925 are more elaborate, from their genuine purple leather suede covers, to the parchment-like paper pages, to the full menu printed in French. The card-stock covered booklet from November 1926 is smaller, the paper is not as fancy, the menu is printed mostly in English, and it doesn't have an autograph section.
The booklets are overall in good condition showing age-appropriate wear including some fading to the suede, yellowing to paper, and some marks on the card-stock cover.
The lot also includes two (2) Pi Sigma Club of Gilbertville invitations to a hurdy gurdy social on November 6, 1908.

This adorable wooden doll measuring tape is as ingenious as it is practical. An Ann Fuller Design, the vintage sewing tool has a retractable fabric measuring tape, holds a thimble, as well as sewing needles revealed when you lift the doll's apron.
The doll has a wooden head, a floral print fabric dress embellished with ribbon, yarn hair, an apron lined with felt for keeping needles, a wire loop between her arms for holding a thimble, and a plastic base with a 40" Dean tape measure marked in inches on one side and centimeters on the other. The tape measure retracts with a push of a button on the bottom of the figure.
Made in England, the tape measure has its original Ann Fuller Design hallmark sticker as well as a sticker from Design Centre London.
This sweet figural tape measure would make a perfect gift for the seamstress on your holiday gift list.
The doll is in very good condition. Her facial paint has faded, but the fabric of her dress is in good shape. The tape measure is in good working order. The piece comes with four (4) steel needles, and a thimble marked "Germany." I am not sure if the needles and thimble are original to the doll.
Doll stands approximately 3 3/8" tall with about a 1 3/4" base diameter.

This Is The Christmas is a lovely little gift book published in 1945 by Horn Books. This brief Serbian folk tale would make a nice bedtime story to read to children on the evenings leading up to the holiday.
Written by Ruth Sawyer, the slender book has decorative front and back covers & pretty green endpapers. The book is in good condition. The covers have some soiling (please see photograph two which shows a mark on the back cover on the upper left-hand side) and wear mostly around the edges. The pages are clean. The binding is tight.
This small book measures approximately 7" x 5 3/4" x 1/4". It is unpaginated.

Vintage miniature king penguin figurine, this little charmer hails from a Britains hollow cast lead zoo series collection. This is the black backed penguin.

Published by Kofoed in 1945 and distributed by Conel Books, this treasure trove of hollywood movie star pictures includes brief biographies of the actors and actresses. Opposite each photograph is a page for fans to log in movies they're seen, where, when, stars, supporting casts, and comments.

Christmas tree candle clip ornaments, these reflective candleholders will bring an old-fashioned touch to your holiday decor. Used before the advent of electricity to illuminated Christmas trees, the ornaments are designed to hold a candle and clip onto the boughs of your Christmas tree.
Caution! Using these clips as intended can be very dangerous. Best to use them as a decorative element in a centerpiece arrangement or general holiday decor. I think they work great as place card holders -- see photograph four (4).
This listing is for a set of 12 clips and 19 candles. The clips are very old but in good condition. Each one shows a varying degrees of wear including some minor wax residue. One clip's candle holder disk is loose. The candles are mostly in good condition. Several of them are broken and a few of them have been previously used. Each clip is marked "Made in Sweden."
