Vintage Lancaster Sandland barware character mug depicting Sir Francis Drake, this miniature drinking vessel is sure to be a conversation starter. Drake looks a bit like a leprechaun to me. In fact, that's what I thought he was until I saw the "Drake" mark on his back.

A colorful character during the Elizabethan era (1558–1603), British naval commander Drake was a sea captain, navigator (the second person to circumnavigate the world), a hero to the British, but a privateer in the eyes of the Spanish.

In excellent vintage condition, this fine hand-painted mug has the Lancaster Sandland hallmark on the bottom. Display this charming little piece of vintage pottery or use it for shots.

First class Pan Am Airlines dishes made by Bauscher Weiden are simple, elegant, and collectible. The white wave pattern on this fine Bavarian china give it a very minimalist look.

This listing is for a three piece set -- dish/tray, bowl, and butter pat dish.

Pan American World Airways was the epitome of sophisticated world travel from it's inspection in 1937 to its bankruptcy in 1991. This set is from the 1980s.

The tray/dish measures 8 1/4" long x about 4 3/4" wide and is about 1 1/4" high. The bottom is imprinted "Pan Am 873 - 579142 TQT." The handles have the white wave pattern.

The bowl is edged with the white wave pattern and measures about 4 5/8" in diameter and is about 1 3/4" high. The bottom is marked "Designed for Pan Am Bauscher Weiden Bavaria Germany" in black. The bowl has a few very faint marks which may or may not come out with a good cleaning.

The butter pat dish does not have the wave pattern. It measures 3 1/8" in diameter x 5/8" high. It has the Bauscher Wieden logo on the bottom as well as "Bauscher Bavaria Germany Pan Am" in green.

Over all, this Pan Am plate set is in very good vintage condition.

Vintage set of Speedball Artist pens and nibs unused in their original box. This No. 5 Hunt Speedball drawing & lettering pen set was made in the U.S.A by Hunt Manufacturing & dates from the 1960s.

The set includes an advertising leaflet with a Earl Horter pen drawing of the Rouen Cathedral. The leaflet examines Horter's use of cross-hatch and texture and "loosening up" with a pen. Love the quote, "The drafting lines give a spiritual quality to this subject, which in itself suggests fineness of thought." The back page of the leaflet advertises Hunt pens, ink and pencil sharpeners.

The kit has a second advertising and instruction leaflet. The opened, the leaflet measures 12 1/4" x 9 1/2". This small lettering instruction poster is suitable for framing.

The set is in excellent unused condition. The original box shows some minor shelf wear. Box, pens holders, pen nibs and leaflets were all made in the U.S.A.

Box measures 7" x 3 1/2" x 3/4."

Christmas Scotch tape in round dispensers lithographed with the classic Scotch Brand tartan plaid would be cool additions to any holiday display.

The dispensers are marked "Minnesota Mining Co." which eventually came to be known as 3M.

Each dispenser is approximately 1/2" in diameter.

The dispensers are in excellent shape. It's amazing that after approximately 60 years, the tape remains sticky to the touch, although it does not hold well. The dispensers are for display as the tape integrity has degraded over the years.

The Egyptian goddess Isis graces the center of this small antique brass tri-footed trinket dish made by the Benedict Manufacturing Company. The plate has a beautiful repeat edging pattern reminiscent of the Arts & Craft style of the time.

Advertised to the gift trade in Geyer's Stationer 1909 catalog, the 'Karnak Brass' line was said to embody "the Egyptian idea of utility and art," and "A distinction and a uniqueness in quality that make it attractive to the best classes of trade." Each piece in the line was hand finished with "antique brass and Nile green decoration". You can see traces of the "Nile" green on the feet of this piece.

Based in East Syracuse, New York, the Benedict Manufacturing Company, founded in 1894, produced decorative metal household items from copper, brass, silver plate & pewter until they closed shop in 1953.

This lovely little dish is stamped "Benedict" along with the company hallmark, the number "573," and " Karnak Brass." The piece is in good vintage condition and shows a marvelous patina of age. The patina is not uniform over the entire piece and is lighter and darker in some spots. There is a "streaking" that almost looks as though light it is emanating from Isis's wing. My preference with antique pieces is not to polish them, as I believe the aging process enhances their appeal. I will leave polishing up to you. The dish has a few light scratches on the surface from wear.

Vintage 1940s Christmas carol sheet music booklet for piano has a bright and graphically interesting cover suitable for framing. Arranged by Mabel Besthoff, and published by Mills Music, the booklet contains classic Christmas song with charming illustrations and brief stories.

The cover is in amazing shape with very minimal signs of wear. There is an ad on the back for Rube Goldberg's Music in the Zoo. The music sheet pages are very yellowed but not brittle. There are a few red pencil marks on page 16 - "Silent Night."

The Rumidor Humidor created in the 1920s by Richard Zucker was said to keep cigars, cigarettes, and tobacco fresh by means of a "moistening agent" referred to as solidified rum. It's rumored that this 12-year aged "solidified rum" was actual rum and a clever way to get around the liquor Prohibition laws of the time.

The lid of this ingenious tobacciana collectible, has a compartment into which you would insert a packet of the "moistening agent" and then turn "on." The hammered copper over tin gives the humidor a very rich look.

This is a very early model of the Rumidor Humidor. The lid is marked "Pat Applied for Reg U.S. Patent Office." Rumidor applied for the patent for this humidor in 1930 and received the patent in 1935.

The humidor has three pieces--
Top Compartment - designed to hold the packet of moistening agent
Lid - into which the top compartment fits snuggly
Bottom Section - compartment for your tobacco product.

The humidor is in good vintage condition and has all its parts including a sponge in the top compartment which I'm guessing would have been soaked in rum. The hammered copper finish is in descent shape for a 80+ year old metal container. The humidor has some worn areas, spotting, or as some would say -- a nice patina of age. Please look at all the photographs. I'd be happy to send you additional photos.

Humidor has a 6" base diameter and stands approximately 6 1/2" tall.

Beautiful example of California pottery made by Wade of California in the 1960s. The fabulous modern spiral shape is predominantly avocado green with swirls of mint green.

Originally intended as an ashtray, the dish can be used to serve tidbits or candies. Imagine it filled with orange goldfish crackers!

The bowl is in very good vintage condition. No cracks. No chips.

Wade Ceramics produced pottery in North Hollywood between 1965 and 1967. This piece is marked "Wade of Calif. U.S.A." along with the number "700."

Dish measures approximately 91/2" x 7 1/2" at its widest points and stands 1 1/2" high.

The hammered metal exterior on this marvelous antique inkwell has become distress over time giving this vintage writing accessory both a sophisticated and rustic feel. What a wonderful gift this inkwell would make for a home library or a curiosity piece on an executive's desk.

The big surprise -- despite the inkwell's distressed exterior, it has its original glass well.

The metal is not marked. My guess is that it is spelter, a zinc alloy commonly used during the Art Nouveau period from which the piece dates, and commonly used to make decorative and household items during that period. I have seen similar inkwells over the years in copper.

As mentioned above, the metal inkwell has a distressed look including an uneven patina, a few marks and dings, and small splits along the bottom rim that do not compromise the integrity of the piece. There are a few rust spots on the bottom. The lid hinge is in good, operating condition. The glass well insert is in good condition.

Inkwell an approximately 3 5/8" diameter and stands 2 1/4" tall with its lid closed.

This vintage crochet afghan was handmade by someone who understood color combinations and advanced crocheting techniques. Using a variety of crochet stitches in single and double color patterns, the maker expertly wove an amazing blanket. The colors include two shades of blue, red, black, beige, & gold. I love the blue and black border!

Handmade vintage textiles remind me of the continuity between generations. Forty years or so ago, someone took the time to make a blanket for her family. She most likely learned the stitches she used to make the afghan from her mother or grandmother, who learned the stitches from her mother, and on it goes back into history. Crochet is an ancient art and this afghan is a fine 1970s example of that art.

Made from sturdy and warm acrylic yarn, this blanket is in good vintage condition. No holes, tears or fading. The blanket has some pilling. Pilling may be removed with a sweater shaver.

Measurements: 66" long x 48" wide.

Antique hollow-cast metal figurine has two adorable cats under a pink umbrella. Made from spelter (a Zinc alloy) and cold painted, this type of statuary was popular during the Victorian era. The pink umbrella is stamped "Germany" underneath. The statue is very small, at approximately 3" tall.

This sweet cat sculpture would make a great gift for the cat lover on your holiday list.

The figurine is in good condition with no cracks, chips or repairs. The backs of the cats have a bronze cast but the fronts are silvery gray. I do not know if the statue was made this way or if the bronze paint wore off the front of the piece. Please look closely at the photographs. The pink umbrella has paint loss and some minor rusting underneath. The pink paint has worn off one cat's nose.

Measurements: 3" tall x 2" wide x 1 1/3" deep.

Amazing vintage panoramic photograph of Camp Mudjekeewis on the banks of Kezar Lake in Lovell, Maine. Taken in the early 1920s, the panorama photo shows girl campers in various activities across the landscape, some girls are posed on rocks, others on top of what looks to be a boat house, others lean against trees, a group of girls are on the lake shore and pier, others are out on the lake paddling in canoes.

This photograph came from the same estate as a panoramic group camp photograph taken at Mudjekeewis in 1923 which is currently in my shop:

I found the following quote from Camp Mudjekeewis's 1922 brochure on the Lovell Historical Society website. The camp open in 1919 and closed in the 1960s.

"Mudjekeewis offers to a limited number of girls the joy of a summer in the great out-of-doors, where they may store their minds with beauty, their bodies with strength and their hearts with the knowledge of real friendship born around the campfire and strengthened by common experience in discovering the secrets of the woods and the lure of the trail."

This panoramic photograph is super long, measuring approximately 44" with a height of 8". The photograph has been rolled up for many years and does not lay out flat. Over all, the photograph is in good condition. It has tears at each end, one about 2" long & one about 3" long. A good framer or conservator could correct these conditions.
