3-D hand-painted windmill wood plate from Holland, this vintage travel souvenir is so cool. A fabulous piece of Netherlands folk art, the windmill blades turn, and the cottage scene is so charming.

The piece is signed by the artist and has a hook on the back. In excellent vintage condition, the picture back is stamped "Hand Painted Made in Holland G.P.J." and "No. 7." Someone penciled "1954" on the back of the plate and "1. 47."

Approximately 6 3/4" diameter.

Santa Claus holds up a honeycomb tissue paper Christmas tree in this vintage Danish Amscan greeting card.

Once part of a salesman's sample book, the card is marked "Made in Denmark" on the back of the tree. The accompanying hand tag card has a red printing sample in lettering style no. 640 and is marked "Henri Fayette Chicago U.S.A." on the back. The card has its original metal clip to hold the honeycomb tree open.

Measurements: Santa is approximately 6 1/4" tall x 4"; The tree has a 4" diameter when fully open.

The card is in good condition. The piece has wear along the edges. Santa's foot has a crease and the edge of his coat is peeling up. Please see photographs for more information about condition.

To quote from these awesome vintage typeface visualizers from the Colton Press:

"Many factors enter into the choice of a type face besides legibility. One of the most important is weight or color. Some faces print light and some print dark; between the extremes of very light and very dark there are infinite variations of tone."

These type face visualizers are dated 1948 and 1950 and were included in the Eighth & Ninth Graphic Arts Production Yearbooks published by the Colton Press. The cards were meant to be used with the "Composite Type Face Directory" included in each year book.

Listing is for four four-page visualizers.

The visualizers are printed on heavy paper card stock. They are in good condition showing typical wear and signs of aging including some soiling and yellowing particularly around the edges.

Each card measures 8" x 10" and has 72 different type possibilities. Some of the type faces include:

Six miniature gray bunnies with red eyes, these tiny charmers can be used in terrariums, shadowboxes, art & crafts projects, or in an Easter display.

Molded from hard plastic, the rabbits are in five different positions and each one is imprint "West Germany" on the bottom. The bunnies range in size from 3/4" tall to 1/2" short.

This vintage coal thermostat would be the coolest way keep track of your indoor room temperature. Made from brass colored metal (but I don't think it is brass), and in a classic industrial art deco style, it would look awesome hanging alone or with a group of vintage thermostats and dials. And, a handy person might be able to figure out how to rewire it for modern use. Note the fabulous "K" for Koppers detailing on each side of the piece.

The thermostat came out of a house that had not been touch since the 1930s. I've cleaned it up a bit so it's not grimy, but you may want to give it a deeper cleaning if you don't care for the aged patina. Thermometer works. There are two wires attached to the back which were cut to take the piece off the wall.

Measurements: Approximately 5" long x 1 3/4" wide x 1 1/4" deep.

Turn the hurdy gurdy crank on this music box pendant and the cat charm plays a little tune. Dating from the 1950s, this adorable charm is on a gold-tone chain link bracelet marked "Germany."

Would make a perfect gift for a cat lover.

The charm music box works and plays a few soft notes when cracked. It's not a recognizable melody, but its a very sweet touch.

Condition: The gold-tone metal shows wear. The cat has a nice patina of age. Please see photographs for more details.

These 4 gold glass Christmas ornament clusters on florist sticks have a total of 12 shiny bright orbs. Use these vintage floral decorations in wreath making, holiday crafts, or for a simple Christmas centerpiece.

A curious piece of American college history, this fraternity and sorority "scrapbook" fan has scraps from various universities and Greek letter societies.

Acquired from the estate of an 103 year-old woman, the scrap fan documents some of the academic institutions, sororities, and fraternities where she socialized during her college years in the 1920s.

This fan is a rare piece of ephemera and is in very good condition. There are several places on the paper fan where scraps have fallen or been torn off. The wood fan sticks are in excellent condition. The fan has a metal loop for hanging.

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, ladies would sometimes make scrap fans as mementos of the various places they visited. The few fans I've seen have always had mostly a college university focus.

The fan features a scrap from Simmons College, an all women's college founded in 1899. Scraps include:

Kappa Alpha Fraternity Epsilon Chapter
Theta Epsilon
The University of Maine

Two treasure troves of folk dancings, these instructional textbooks dating from 1913 & 1944 are filled with dances and traditional songs from around the globe.

Designed to be used by teachers in high schools and colleges as part of a well-rounded physical education curriculum, the books provide step-by-step dancing instructions as well as musical arrangements.

This ear flap hat in flannel gray with knitted black band is a sophisticated version of a classic hunter's cap. High-quality and beautifully finished, this cap can be worn by a man or a woman.

The tan quilted lining is in good condition for a vintage hat showing some minor wear and soiling. The cap has a "Flip-It" hat brand label.

Sizing: The hat does not have a size label. It fits my husband who wears a man's medium hat. Its a big on me and I wear a woman's small. It has approximately a 22" circumference, 2 1/2" brim, & 3" earflaps.

Large Hummel knockoff figurine of a boy in oversized shoes with a pipe, this young hobo lad wears a hat, blue jeans, detailed printed kerchief, and has a smudge of his nose. He has a red number, 2843/44, on the sole of one of his shoes, but no other markings.

This fine fellow was among a treasure trove of circa 1960s Japan figurines from an estate sale in Paterson, NJ. He is in very good condition. No chips, no cracks, no crazing. There is a little bit of paint loss on his sleeve and belly.

Rare vintage Raymond Peynet Rosenthal "Ponytail Girl" brandy snifters, these crystal glasses from the 1960s are truly hard to find. Listing is for a set of 6 glasses.

Raymond Peynet (1908 - 1999) was a French illustrator and designer most famously known for his beloved "Les Amoureux de Peynet" characters.

In near mint condition, each one of these Rosenthal crystal glasses is etched with Peynet's iconic "Ponytail Girl" with two birds undoing her corset.

Each glass has an etched "Peynet" signature and the Rosenthal marked on the bottom.

This is a very beautiful, high-quality scarf, not kitschy or garish. The finely drawn poinsettia, pinecones and holly are outlined in gold and are set on a black background.

Oblong and easy to wear, this sheer scarf is in excellent vintage condition. The previous owner removed the content tag, but from the feel of it, I'd say the scarf is polyester. It's feels very soft and silky. Can be worn as a scarf or a shoulder wrap.

Sweet vintage flower bud ceramic espresso demitasse cup looks like a tulip about to burst into bloom. This small cup can be used for espresso or tea or any other hot or cold beverage when you just want a sip or two. It's a really pretty piece and would look lovely on display.

Sculpted to evoke the shape of a flower bud, the cup has a green base blending into yellow with gold rim. It is very old--at least 70 years or so. I bought it 25 years ago and at that time I was told it was about 50 years old. It has no markings and no saucer.

The cup is in very good condition. I detect one tiny tiny spot on the rim where the gold leaf has chipped away.
