Vintage Lancaster Sandland barware character mug "or Toby mug" depicting Sir Francis Drake, this miniature drinking vessel is sure to be a conversation starter. Drake looks a bit like a leprechaun to me. In fact, that's what I thought he was until I saw the "Drake" mark on his back.

Vintage Gossard Loungeware hostess caftan gown, this retro 1960s maxi-length house dress is a stunner. Take a close look at the fabric. Vibrant squares of yellow, orange, green, turquoise & white form an amazing geometric pattern across the fabric.

This very early piece of Higgins glass is a wonderful example of their fused and molded glass technique. The small ashtray or dish has a classic mid-century design, shape & color combination -- black, brown, sea foam green & gold color combination.

Initially created as an ashtray, you can use this small Higgins piece as intended (which I would not recommend -- bad for you and the art object), as a dish, or as part of an art glass display.

Founded in 1948, Frances & Michael Higgins began producing their now famous art glass in their Chicago apartment with kilns set up behind their sofa. Using the ancient art of glass fusing, the Higgins created the quintessential art glass of the Mid-Century Modern era.

This piece has an etched "Higgins" signature and dates to 1948 to the early 1950s. The dish is in very good vintage condition.

This is a "Pocket Rocket" badge, formally known as a Missile Badge, Missilier Badge, and the Missileman Badge. It was award to United States Air Force (USAF) personnel during the Cold War era to those trained to launch land-based nuclear weapons. It was also given to Air Force engineers.

The pin was manufactured by N.S. Meyer, Inc, in New York.

Condition: The pin is in very good condition. It has two clutch-back pin mounts but is missing their caps which can easily be replaced.

A tiny vintage German lusterware salt cellar basket makes a big home decor statement. Embellished with a detailed flower cluster, this finely made porcelain collectible is very similar to some Elfinware pottery I've seen from the same era. It's an interesting combination of lusterware and Elfinware technique. Truly special, it would make a lovely hostess gift or decorative accent in an Easter display

Lusterware porcelain is made with a metallic glaze that produces an iridescent finish. Lusterware has an ancient history and can be traced back to Roman and Coptic Egypt Copper luster is produced from gold.

Durwood wall hanging plaque made by John Walter and Sons of Canada has the look of carved wood. The piece has a lovely pinecone and branches motif rendered in faux wood plastic.

Popular in the 1930s & 1940s, the Durwood line of decorative items produced in Kitchener, Ontario, graced many homes throughout U.S. & Canada.

This wall plaque is in very good condition. It has the remnant of its original maple leaf shaped John Walter and Sons sticker on the back.

Vintage Eldorado 17 jewel purse watch has a cool sliding case design. Initially patented in France in 1930, this sliding case design was the hallmark of the Movado Ermeto purse watch which was copied by several high-end German & Swiss watch factories. Obviously, this "Eldorado" branded watch is one of those knock offs.

Designed as a travel watch that could be carried in your purse or pocket, the case has a built in easel stand that slides out so the watch can sit upright on a table or desk. The watch is stem set and wound. It has a sweeping red-tipped arrow second hand. It has a jump ring loop for a chain. The case opens by gently pulling the two sides apart. The case covering appears to be leather.

The watch is marked "Made in Germany" along with two U.S. patent numbers. The patent numbers date the watch to the 1950s.

The watch is in working condition and keeps fairly accurate time. After running for three hours, the watch gained one minute.

The watch's gold tone metal casing shows wear particularly around the wind-up stem. The case exterior shows wear. Please see the photographs for more information about condition. I'd be happy to send you additional photographs of this classic timepiece.

Watch measures 2 1/4" closed & 3" open. The case is 1 1/2" wide. The watch face is approximately 1 1/8" square. Case is approximately 3/8" deep at its widest point.

Vintage wood Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer planter, invite him to be the centerpiece at your Christmas dinner.

Kitchy and cute, Rudolf has goggly eyes and vintage fabric poinsettia secured in florist foam in his planter basket.

Rudolf was very possibly created from a built-it-yourself kit available in the 1960s - early 1970s.

Rudolf is in very good condition. His red cotton-ball nose has some dried glue on it.

Rudolf is approximately 13" from nose to tail, stands 15" tall, & is approximately 4" wide.

Vintage 1940s American Airline brochures harken back to the early days of commercial air travel. This awesome group of aviation advertising brochures comes in a nifty folder marked "The American Airlines System" &"Business," "Airfreight," &"Pleasure." The folder holds 7 brochures promoting American Airlines the new DC-6 & the Convair. American refers to them as their "5- Mile-A-Minute Flagship Fleet."

In the late 1940s American Airlines had three branches, American Airlines Inc., American Overseas Airlines, Inc., & American Airlines De Mexico, S.A. In 1950, Pan American Airways bought the American Overseas Airlines division.

These colorful brochures were printed and lithographed in the U.S.A.

7 Brochures include:

1. Take Your Family with You For Only Half Fare -- This small format brochure measures 6" x 3" folded and 8 3/4" x 6" fully open.

2. American Airlines 5-Mile-A-Minute Flagship Fleet -- Measuring 9" x 4" closed, this brochure opens to a small poster size measuring 15 3/4" x 17 1/2". The brochure highlights American Airline's new flagship aircraft, the DC-6 & the Convair. It has a map of the current airline routes including American Airlines, "other airline," &"American Airline system - International routes not yet in operation." The map is dated 1948 and was drawn by the General Drafting Company. The brochure brags that the DC-6 will get you from New York to Los Angeles in 11 hrs 10 minutes in "Living Room Comfort."

3. Why Be An Ostrich About Wintertime Air Travel? 9" x 4" closed; 9" x 12" open. Brochure assures the potential winter air traveler that "American's Five-Mile-A-Minute Fleet is equipped with special devices, engineered specifically to meet seasonal conditions."

4. It's So Easy to go to Mexico - With a strapping matador on the cover this brochure measures 9" x 4" closed and 9" x 19 3/4" open. It includes an air traffic route map for the U.S.A. & Mexico.

5. Europe in Winter in Comfort by American Flagship - 9" x 4" closed; 9" x 12" open. Include American Airlines system map for USA and European routes. Boasts that it will get your to London from New York in 13 hours & 55 minutes.

6. The Sun Country - 9" x 4" closed; 9" x 19 3/4" open. Cover entices the traveler to "Give winter the go-by - find your place in the sun - go American to Arizona Texas California New Mexico." Has map showing the "Southern Sunshine Route."

7. American Airlines Maps - Routes of the Flagships. 9" x 4" closed; 9" x 12" open. One side of this brochure opens to a full page color lithographed American Airlines route map for the U.S.A. Mexico & Cuba with indicators to their international routes. The other side shows American Overseas Airlines, Inc. routes to Europe.

The envelope folder measures 9 3/4" x 5 3/4" closed & 9 3/4" x 14" open.

The folder and brochures are in very condition for their age. They show wear around the edges.

Vintage Vis-Ed Compact Facts American History I flash study cards in a cool turquoise box are so retro and yet so useful. Visual Education Association of Dayton, Ohio has supplied generations of students with high-quality study aids. This study card deck provides a concise review of American History from the Age of Discovery through the Civil War.

The cards in this set are printed on heavy card stock and can withstand a great deal of handling. Published in 1963, the set is in excellent condition and show every little evidence of wear. The sturdy bright turquoise box with the classic Rodin's Le Penseur (The Thinker) graphic has some rubbing and wear but is in very good shape for its age.

Instant collection of 7 sewing thread spools in fabulous shades of teals and blues, put them on display or use the thread in projects. Three (3) threads are on wooden spools and 4 are on heavy-duty card board spools, all have been used and have varying amounts of thread remaining. Please see the photographs. One wooden spool is marked "Star Mercerized 1200 yes" and another is marked "Dandy No. 00 1200 Yards."

It's hard to say exactly the age of each of these spools. The woman I got them from said she had had them for a long time. Some may be as old as 80 or as young as 40. Regardless, the colors are just wonderful and would make a beautiful display.

This vintage 1940s egg carton is just the right decorative touch for a retro country farmhouse kitchen. Graphically interesting, the hens on the blue box look as if they are crowing.

The box is in remarkable condition. There are a few purplish colored marks on the lid and someone colored in the dotted 'i" in "Strictly" with yellow giving it a very sun-like look. The carton's original closure sticker shows that the box once contained eggs from the Par-Troy Farm in Parsippany, N.J.

Vintage Beswick cat figurine, this seated gray tabby kitten has stripes and a sweet expression. The cat is marked "Beswick England," the British pottery company renown for their porcelain work.

This fabulous feline is in excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or crazing. Slight color variation on the nose, a whitish spot, that appears to be original to the piece. See photographs one and five.
