This classic marble composition notebook from the late 1920s contains handwritten notes and recipes from Miss Keeler's cooking and home economics class taught at New York City P.S. 226 in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn.
The handwritten notebook has housekeeping tips, health rules, recipes, table setting guidelines, baby care instructions, a typed poem, colorful magazine clippings of food and household products, and more. Approximately 1/4 of the notebook is written in at the front. The student wrote a table of contents for the notebook at the back. The remainder of the notebook is blank.
