This is a first edition copy of this classic study of Soviet culture. The vintage book is in good condition. The dust jacket is bright with some small tears around the edges and some paper loss at the base of the spine. Pages are clean. Binding is tight. The book comes with a publicity insert written by John P. Marquand.

Rare vintage Raymond Peynet Rosenthal "Ponytail Girl" brandy snifters, these crystal glasses from the 1960s are truly hard to find. The vintage crystal glasses are perfect for cognac, brandy, or an apéritif.

Raymond Peynet (1908 - 1999) was a French illustrator and designer most famously known for his beloved "Les Amoureux de Peynet" characters.

In near mint condition, each one of these Rosenthal crystal glasses is etched with Peynet's iconic "Ponytail Girl" with two birds undoing her corset.

Each glass has an etched "Peynet" signature and the Rosenthal marked on the bottom.

Vintage hardcover edition of Miss Pickerell Goes To Mars has wonderful art work on the dust jacket of Miss Pickerell, a cow, and a spaceship. Published in 1951 at the beginning of the space race, this vintage science fiction book for children was an instant hit. The author, Ellen MacGregor, used true scientific facts of the time in her Miss Pickerell series including such concepts as weightlessness in space, atomic energy, and the carbon-14 dating method.

This is a genuine circa 1950s copy of Miss Pickerell Goes to Mars not a recent reprint. The book has its original bright yellow dust jacket which shows typical wear around the edges including small tears and some paper loss. The red cloth covered hardcover is in good condition. Pages are clean. Binding is tight.

Antique May 1901 Ladies Home Journal has cover art by Anna Whelan Betts. The vintage magazines is filled with ads and articles from the late Victorian era including a piece on beekeeping, women photographers, plans for a $5,000 Dutch Colonial home, articles on flowers and gardening, a centerfold of "Picturesque Canada," summer salads, summer fashion, and so much more.

This is a genuine vintage magazine published in 1901 not a recent reprint. The antique periodical shows typical and age-appropriate wear from use and the passage of time. The paper is lightly toned and there is some spotting here and there, moisture staining on the lower front cover, spine, and back cover, along with some red staining on the back cover. There is approximately a two-inch tear on the bottom of page 17 - 18.

In Praise of Fathers by Daniel A. Lord, S.J., outlines the meaning and the purpose of being a good Catholic father to your children, offering advise and spiritual guidance to the faithful. The small Queen's Work pamphlet has bold cover graphics.


This is a genuine vintage religious pamphlet from the 1940s not a reproduction. As such, expect ordinary signs of aging including some wear to the cover, with a small chip on the right-hand side of the cover corner, wear and tanning at the edges of the pages. Previous owner's name (Carolyn Zickel) written in blue ink on inside cover.

Shiny Brite, the iconic American Christmas ornament company, produced a fantastic array of glass holiday baubles from the late 1930s into the 1960s. This set of lantern-shaped glass ornaments have red, green & white stripes. They came to me tied with the red ribbon you see in the photographs and I have kept the ornaments together.

The ornaments have lost most of their silvering. One of the ornaments has a replacement metal top which is marked "Poland" and doesn't quite fit the bulb. The other one has metal cap marked "Shiny Brite Made in U.S.A." The ornaments have typical signs of aging with spots, paint loss, & discoloration.

One ornament is approximately 2 3/4" long. The other one is about 3" long.

This divided serving dish with a handle is a beautiful piece of hand-painted porcelain. Most likely German or Bavarian in origin, the vintage gold-rimmed serving bowl has a delicate purple floral design as well as a gold gilt handle.

The antique serving bowl can be used for nuts or candies, or simply displayed for its beauty.

The circa early 1900s ceramic dish is in very good condition for its age. There are very light signs of wear on the floral design. The gold rim and handle are in very good condition. The beautiful porcelain piece has no chips and no cracks.

The vintage school book is filled with illustrations by Anna Gladys Peck. The art includes pictures of dogs, cats, children, clowns, the circus, winter, summer, spring, and fall. The book has decorative endpapers.

Genuine vintage, not a recent reprint of this old school book, the cover is in very good condition for its age. The pages are lightly toned from the passage of time and there is some spotting here and there as well as a few small tears at the tops & bottoms of pages. There is a discard notation on the front endpaper.
