This circa 1930s Koh I Noor L & C Hardtmuth dip pen holders set is an amazing find. The nib holders are in excellent condition on their original cardboard display board. The set includes a nice selection of wood pen holders perfect for calligraphy work or displaying as a unique decor element in your office or studio.

The set includes six (6) vintage pen holders. One pen has a cork holder. One pen has a decorative marbled paper accent. Pens are in amazing condition. All are unused. The cardboard display board shows light shelf wear and has a crease on the upper left-hand side. The elastic stays have lost their elasticity and the pens slid out easily.

Rare and interesting anthology book edited by Alice Dunbar Nelson, The Dunbar Speaker and Entertainer contains poetry, drama, and prose specifically for an African American audience.

Published in 1920, the book includes selections by Paul Lawrence Dunbar, W.E.B. DuBois, Frederick Douglass, and Phyllis Wheatley, as well as line drawing and intriguing photographs of a young girl in various postures.

Alice Dunbar Nelson was an American writer and political activist, and prominent member of the Harlem Renaissance.

This is a genuine first edition copy of this rare title not a recent reprint. The book is nearing 100-years old and shows wear from age and use. The cover shows wear with light fraying at the corners, a few black ink spots on the front cover, white spots on the spine, and general soiling from age. The front hinge is weakened but intact, pages are tanned with age, there is some very light soiling on a few pages. Overall this is a good copy of a rare book.

These carte de visite are part of a collection of photographs from one Berlin family. The collection is an interesting visual glimpse into the life of a wealthy German family in the late 1800s into the early part of the 20th century.


Carte de visite were invented in Paris by André Adolphe Eugène Disdéri in 1854. He also developed a method of producing eight separate negatives on one plate making it easier to produce multiple cards of an identical image. In the mid to late 1800s, carte de visite became all the rage and were traded among friends and relatives.

Cards are in good condition for their age showing typical wear including scratches, edge wear, rubbing, fading, and spotting. Each card has the number "3226" written on the back in pencil and as well as the gold gilt stamp of Samson & Co Berlin.

Cards measure approximate 4 1/8" x 2 1/2".

Confession of a Neurasthenic by Horace Hazeltine is a rare piece of antique pharmaceutical advertising. Published in 1911 by Bauer Chemical, the illustrated autobiographical story recounts the author's suffering with the symptoms of neurasthenia until he was saved by the drug Sanatogen.

Billed as a brain tonic, Sanatogen was heavily marketed by Bauer Chemical as a nerve revitalizer and remedy for neurasthenia, a condition coined in 1869 with symptoms including fatigue, nervousness, and anxiety.

The small illustrated advertising pamphlet has a decorative cover and a binding sewn with red thread. The cover shows wear particularly around the edges with creases and minor paper loss. The pages are clean and in good condition. The advertising booklet includes a fold-out sheet of "Letters from Famous People" including comments by Lady Henry Somerset, George Ade, David Belasco, John Burroughs, Sir Gilbert Parker, and others notables of the time.

Miniature Mid Century owl figurine trio will add a charming touch to your home or office decor. Made in Denmark, the vintage pottery owls are super cute and would make a great gift for a new mom and dad or owl lover.

The vintage owl figures are in very good condition having no chips or cracks and minimal wear to the glaze. Two of the owls are stamped "Denmark" on the bottom. The largest owl also has a marker stamp, but it is very hard to read.

Antique USA Department of Agriculture report for 1876 provides a good look at the nation's farming industry in the middle of the 19th century and the country's centennial anniversary. The vintage agricultural book includes an antique pull-out map of the United States's "Cotton Belt" showing the areas of heaviest production as well as "Indian" territory in what would eventually become Oklahoma. The vintage agriculture book also has illustrations of plants and insects and beautiful full-plate engravings of agricultural colleges in the United States.

Genuine antique, not a recent reprint of this title, the book shows age appropriate wear with some foxing to the pages, dust soiling on the page edges, and bumped cover corners.

Incredible set of antiquarian leather books, this collection of Antique Gems from the Latin and Greek was published by subscription in 1902 by George Barrie & Son, Philadelphia. Each custom printed set was bound according to the subscribers specifications. This antique book set is bound in three quarter Morocco leather, green with brown spine, and light green cloth. The spines have gold gilt designs and lettering.

Subscription number 685 of 1000 sets published, this collection belonged to Percy Chubb the founder of Chubb Insurance. Each volume has Chubb's personal bookplate pasted on the inside front endpaper.

Each book has the Latin or Greek text on one side with the English translation on the facing page. The books are beautifully illustrated and printed on high quality Japanese vellum paper.

Books are in good condition with rubbing and wear evident at the corners and along the edges. Pages are clean. The books were on a library shelf untouched for years and have some dust soiling along the top edges.

This impressive book set would be an amazing & very special gift for a book lover, Classics buff, or a lawyer or corporate executive who has been promoted to the corner office.

Rare Park & Pollard advertising booklet, Lay or Bust Year Book and Almanac for 1919, is packed with information on raising chickens, along with a bit about hogs and cows.

Historically interesting, the farm booklet's introduction asks the reader if "You are a good American," and refers to the World War I defeat of Germany, and rising demand for foodstuffs.

The illustrated booklet takes the farmer through the year providing detailed information on what to do to raise healthy chickens.

The antique almanac is in good condition with typical wear around the edges. The back cover top corner is missing (see photograph two). The color cover is bright and in very good condition. The booklet has a hole in the upper left-hand corner for ease of hanging in a convenient spot for easy reference.

The delightful illustrations in this antique children's book would look amazing on display in a child's room or nursery. The antique German children's board book was printed long ago in archaic Gothic German typeface. I believe the antique book is missing at least one board, as there is no title page with author and publisher information.

The book's binding has been reinforced with bookbinding tape. There are three double-sided boards present. The charming illustrations include a woodland scene with a deer, rabbit, and squirrels, a kitchen scene with quarreling siblings, children playing dress up, a summer boating scene, a winter scene with a snowman, and a scene with boys stealing apples from a tree.

Measures approximately 10 1/4 inches by 7 3/4 inches.

These vintage Jesus, Mary & Joseph figures would make a great nativity scene starter set. The plaster cast high-quality figurines are beautifully rendered with nice detailing. These are the larger size nativity with Joseph measuring 7" tall.

As these are genuine vintage, expect the nativity figures to show signs of age. Mary has a small chip on her hair. Joseph has some dark spots on his robe and a chip near the base. He has his original wire staff.

The Christmas figurines are marked "Italy" on the bottom.

Put away in an attic and forgotten for many years, this faded antique photograph came out of an estate in Paterson, N.J. The pretty woman in the old photo wears an intricate lace dress, earrings, and a pearl pin at her throat. Her name is lost to time, but you can claim her framed photograph as a work of art.

The photograph and frame show the passage of time. Most all the frame's original green paint has flaked off and its easel stand is missing. You can see some dust under the glass. The photograph is quite faded.
