Very old vintage hand blown glass Christmas ornament would make a great gift for a collector.

The vintage glass ornament has a metal cap with no marker identifiers. The ornament's dark pink, red, orangey gold, and red stripes appear to be hand painted.

This is a genuine circa 1930s or earlier hand blown glass ornament. It shows typical signs of age including scratches and oxidation marks.

3 1/2 inches long

An interesting handwritten accounting journal chronicles a French household's expenses from January 1912 through April 1914. There are references and expense logs for many accoutrements of daily life including allumettes (matches), cadeau fête (festival gifts), costume de bain (bathing suit), eau de cologne, livres (books), fleurs (flowers), blouses, savon (soap) and more. There are numerous notations for "washing" which appears to be a reference for laundry. There are also many personal names noted in the journal.

The diary is bound in burgundy leather with hand-marbled endpapers and page edges and is in good condition for its age. There is a shop sticker on the back endpaper from Boyard-Obert a fournitures de bureau (office supply shop) in Le Harve.

Signed by the author, this vintage copy of New York City Folklore by B.A. Botkin is a treasure trove of stories about the world's most popular city. Illustrated with print and photograph reproductions, the book also has decorative endpapers depicting New York City scenes.

This is a genuine vintage, first edition signed copy of Botkin's classic book about New York City folklore. The book is not a recent reprint. The dust jacket shows signs of wear with tears and some paper loss, but it has done its job keeping the red cloth hardcover book in good condition. There is some wear at the corners. Paper is toning from age.

Vintage laboratory glassware has a industrial science look and may be used equally well by a mad scientist geek or a florist arranging flowers for a wedding.

This trio of vintage laboratory glass measuring beakers would look great on display by themselves or as part of larger grouping of chemistry glassware. Vintage glass beakers make interesting vases for wedding centerpieces.

Glass beakers are in good vintage condition. No chips. No cracks. Someone wrote the number "9" in black indelible ink on the smaller 125 ml beaker.

Made by Idealite, in Jersey City, N.J. back in the 1930s, this rare vintage globe light fixture features a steel transfer painted orb set in a cast metal meridian lamp. The vintage world globe has gold oceans, a time dial at the top, and spins freely in its full meridian frame.

The metal globe is unmarked, but was most likely made by J. Chein, the toy manufacturer, who produced globes for various lamp companies from the 1920s to the 1960s. The early 1930s globe shows British Somaliland, Italian Somaliland (dissolved in 1936 upon the formation of Italian East Africa), French West Africa, Belgian Congo, Rhodesia, Persia, and Chosen.

The vintage lamp has its original cloth electrical cord and light bulb socket. The plastic electrical plug is damaged -- a bit of plastic has crumbled away. The light fixture works, but is not up to current electrical codes. The electrical wiring and plug need to be replace before using the lamp.

Globe has a 6 inch diameter.
Light fixture is approximately 11 1/2 inches tall.
Marked Idealite Inc. Jersey City, N.J. on top of metal meridian.
Globe and metal base show age approximate wear including some paint loss, soiling, dings, and general wear.


Note Bene: As with all vintage lamps, have the electrical works upgraded to current standards before use in your home.

Vintage William Rogers silver plate jelly serving spoon in the hard-to-find San Diego pattern would make a nice accent on any holiday table.

The antique silver-plate spoon has a scalloped shell bowl and is in good condition for its age. The vintage silver spoon comes to you unpolished as shown in the photographs.

The antique silverplate spoon is fully hallmarked with an eagle, Wm Rogers, a star, the number "4", and the letter "m."

The vintage serving spoon is approximately 7" long.

This slim circa 1960s booklet presents Chairman Mao Tse Tung's article "Combat Liberalism" originally published in 1937. Printed in the People's Republic of China by the Foreign Languages Press, this vintage Communist propaganda booklet was created for export to English-speaking countries.

Genuine vintage propaganda pamphlet from the 1960s shows typical age-related wear with toning to the cover and pages and some creasing and marks on the back cover.

Vintage biology textbook written for the non-scientist is filled science illustrations, including charming anthropomorphic depiction of cells and biological processes.

Written by the prominent neuroscientist Ralph Waldo Gerard, Unresting Cells is a classic science book and would make a wonderful gift for the biology major or teacher.

This is a genuine vintage book published in 1940 not a recent reprint. The book shows age-appropriate wear with some scuffs on the decorative cover, several very neat underlinings in pencil, and a comment written in pencil on page 209. Front hinge is beginning to weaken but is not broken. Binding is tight.

Circa 1955 Bertram Bewi Automat A light meter is a cool looking vintage photography gadget. Made in Germany, the vintage photography light meter comes with its original leather case.

The vintage selenium light meter is in very good cosmetic shape but it has not been tested and is being sold as a display item not a working meter. The vintage leather case shows wear with a tear at back. The zip is in working order.

The vintage light meter measures approximately 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 1 1/18".

Two vintage Catholic scapulars made from traditional brown wool have white paper panels with art reproductions of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and St. Simon Stock sewn on the reverse side. One scapular has a white ribbon with plastic protective cases and one scapular has a brown ribbon.

The scapular were stored in a drawer for many years and have never been worn.

Brown wool felt scapulars have a long history in the Catholic Church. Scapulare propter opera, were originally work clothes worn by monks, which developed into the Benedictine habit, then burial garments for privileged members of Third Orders such as confraternities, and over time into small brown wool sacramental scapulars worn in modern times.

White scapular is approximately 17" long.
Brown scapular is approximately 19 1/2" long.

Circa 1913 London Underground map, this rare antique subway map folds out at the back of an undated Alphabetical Pocket Guide to London issued by the Kingsley & Thackeray Hotels.

Measuring approximately 13 1/2 inches by 10 3/4 inches, the color map is in very good condition showing wear mostly around the edges, most notably on the bottom left-hand side with a small tear and a tiny bit of paper peal (please see photographs), as well as typical fold lines for a map found within a book.

The small tourist guide contains photographs of many popular London destinations and points of historic interest. The travel guide offers detailed descriptions of the Kingsley and Thackeray Hotels including room rates and meal prices. The small booklet also contains a chart of comparative international exchange rate values for English, American, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, & Russian currencies.

This decorative bundle of vintage books is a treasure trove of information on the art, history, culture, and stories of Native American Indians.

The books are illustrated with maps, line drawings, and art reproductions. The J. Frank Dobie book includes color illustration by Tom Lea and is an former library book. It has a Dewey Decimal number on its spine, an embossed stamp from the Glen Ridge, N.J. library on the title page, and library card envelope at the back.

The books are in good condition with typical shelf wear on the covers and spines. Pages are clean. Bindings are tight.

Antique skittle nine pins game has a primitive look and a wonderful patina of age. Display this awesome vintage game in your office, workshop, game room or studio for a cool look. And, you can play a game at lunchtime!

This is a very old wooden bowling pin game from the early 20th century. It was played with and enjoyed in its time, but has lots of life left. The small game pins have a handmade look and painted red stripes. The palm-size bowling balls have one small flat area which allow the balls to sit on a table top without rolling away.

The skittle pins stand approximately 6 3/4" tall.
Balls have approximately 2 1/2" diameter.
