Molded from plastic, this awesome vintage toy bank model of a NASA Mercury spacecraft capsule commemorates the historic spaceflights of Freedom 7 piloted by astronaut Alan Shepard, and Friendship 7 piloted by astronaut John Glenn, the first person to orbit the earth.

The Mercury space capsule model is marked "United States" on the side "Astronaut Capsule," "Project Mercury," &"Redstone Atlas" along the base. The bottom of the space capsule model shows an astronaut in the cabin with information on Shepard's sub orbital flight and Glenn's orbital flight. The vintage bank has a slit on the top marked "Have Save."

Rare to find in such good condition as these spaceship banks where designed to be broken open once filled with coins, the plastic bank shows signs of typical wear for a vintage toy with some scratches and discoloration on the bottom.

Made by Sell Rite Gifts (SRG) in the 1940s, this vintage cast metal dinosaur has a bronze coating and a wonderful patina. He was made as a toy and sold, along with SRG's full line of metal dinosaurs, at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.

The miniature dinosaur model shows signs of wear with some chipping to the the bronze coating. He is marked "SRG" on the bottom.

Approximate Measurements:
3 inches long by 1 1/2 inches tall

The miniature dinosaur comes in a gift box.

Keith Johnston's Historical Atlas, also known as The Half-Crown Atlas of British History is a small atlas containing 31 beautiful colored maps.

The antique maps begin with England (Britannia Under the Romans) and continue through history up to Europe during the late Continental Wars (1848-1870). The slim map collection concludes with an overview of the world showing British possessions and dependencies. The atlas includes an index of all place names shown on the maps.

The antique book has a beautiful cover with tooling and gold gilt lettering and decoration. All maps are present but the sewn binding is weak. The front right hand-side endpaper has come loose and has the name of the previous owner in ink along with the date and other notations. The antique maps could easily be separated and framed individually for home decor.

The book measures 7 1/2" by 5 1/4".

Exquisite Japanese obi sash, this smaller version of a formal maru obi has an elaborate peony and butterfly design in shades of orange, a traditional color for a child's obi sash, with accents of gold and blue.

The Motor Boys Across the Plains is the fourth volume in the Stratemeyer Synidcate's popular early 20th-century adventure book series. Published in 1907, the antique book has a charming decorative cover worthy of display.

The vintage book would make a fun gift for a car lover or an interesting man cave decor accent.

The antique book is in very good condition for its age. The cover is bright showing some light soiling and wear. There is some dust soiling on the page edges. The book sat on a shelf untouched for many many years. Pages are lightly tanned with age but supple. Overall, a good, clean copy of a scarce title.

Made by Edward Marshall Boehm for the Schering Pharmaceutical Company, this vintage porcelain head bust advertising the antipsychotic prescription drug Etrafon, was given away to psychiatric medical doctors in the 1950s.

A striking piece of vintage medical decor, the white ceramic bust would make a curious accent piece in the home or office, and would make a great gift for a psychology professor, psychiatrist, or psychologist.

The vintage pharmaceutical advertising collectible is marked "Etrafon" on the back. The porcelain bust is in good condition with no chips and no cracks.

This beautiful vintage metal lamp base has a lovely verdigris patina and lovely Art Nouveau styling. The quality cast metal accent lamp base has detailing reminiscent of lily pad.

This is a very old lamp with an old electric cord that is not up to current codes. The lamp should be rewired before use. The vintage lamp's switch is marked "Excelsior" and the socket is marked "Leviton Made in U.S.A."

Sealed in its original packaging, this vintage educational card game is a rare find from the space age era. The box lid has an amazing outer space graphic with two rocket ships orbiting around the earth. The space age graphic is repeated on the back of each game card.

It's the perfect gift for the collector of outer space toys and games!

The box shows shelf wear with some rubbing and scratches to the cover graphic. Three of the corners are split, but the heavy cardboard box holds together well. The original cellophane wrap is beginning to tear at the bottom right hand-side corner.

The glossy magazine-type catalog has 318 pages and includes a handy index.

The catalog is in remarkable condition, but it does show wear mostly around the edges and at the top and bottom of the spine. The cover has a few small tears most notably on the front cover bottom edge. The pages are clean.

This transfer painted metal steel globe published by the J. Chein & Company, Burlington N.J. has very good detail for a "tin" child's desk globe. The world globe has a plastic half meridian, time dial at the North Pole, and a gold metal octagon base.

The globe shows the world as is was in 1960-1961. Egypt & Syria are united as the United Arab Republic (1958 - 1961), French Equatorial Africa is not present (1908 - 1959), Germany is broken apart into East and West. "Belgian" has been dropped from the Congo (1960).

In very good condition for a 50+ year-old metal globe, the colors are bright and there are minimal signs of wear.

The globe has a 9" diameter, stands approximately 12" tall, measures 7" across the base, and has approximately a 28" circumference not including the meridian.

Globes make great gifts!

This vintage metal SRG caveman statue would make the ultimate man cave gift for your husband, boyfriend, brother, or any other special man on your holiday gift list.

Made from metal coated with bronze, this awesome vintage caveman statue is in good condition showing minimal wear. The caveman figure is 2 3/4" tall and is clearly marked "SRG47" on the back.

SRG (Sell Rite Gifts) made a full line of cast metal dinosaur and prehistoric toy figurines from 1947 until about 1955. The miniature metal figurines were sold at the American Museum of Natural History in New York and other natural history museum across the United States.

Originally made as children's toys, the SRG dinosaurs in my shop are being sold as display pieces and collectibles for adults as the vintage toys most likely do not meet current toy safety standards.

Vintage Eagle Poise 1256 pen holder counter display from the 1930s has its original calligraphy nib pens intact. The bright array of colorful painted wood penholders makes an amazing display.

The advertising counter display was never used, and is in amazing condition for its age. There are some age spots, soiling, and minor creasing, but the colors are vibrant. The die cut cardboard display has an easel hinge in the back for standing on a counter. The display holds its original dozen (12) Eagle Poise 1256 pens -- four red, four blue, four green, & four yellow. The pens are new old stock. Each pen has prong fitting at the end for the insertion of a nib, and is marked "1256 Eagle Poise U.S.A."

Display measures 12 inches x 8 inches.

Sweet peas, a long-time garden favorite, are the star of this antique gardening book. The slender volume has a decorative cover with a beautiful lithograph print of sweet peas. The cover is so pretty, you'll want to put it on display.

Modern Life Speller is a vintage children's school book with a charming decorative cover showing airplanes flying over a cityscape with radio towers emitting radio waves into the sky. The cool cover would make a fun display in a classroom, nursery, or kid's room.

Published in 1936 by the World Book Company, this is the teacher examination version not the student edition. The book shows some dust soiling on the cover, light shelf wear, and paper tanning from age, but does not appear to have been used in a classroom.
