Vintage SpaceJet tabletop pinball game made by Spear Works in Enfield, England is a blast from the past. The retro game has bold graphics and would make an amazing wall hanging suitable for the man cave, child's room, media room, office, and workshop. The old bagatelle game is sure to be a conversation piece.

The game's marble plunger is in working order but the original marbles are not present. As this is a genuine vintage game from the 1950s that was played with in its time, the pressboard game surface and metal components show signs of wear and age including dings, scratches, and dust soiling. The game comes with its original cardboard box which is torn and crushed at one end. The box is marked:

Vintage hand-sewn Muslim kufi cap has a hand embroidered design stitched in metallic thread and faux pearls. Also referred to as a taquiyah or topi, this beautiful vintage hat can be worn or displayed.

From the estate of a textile collector, the velvet hat is from the early 20th century and was gently worn. There are a few stray threads and light wear to the velvet.

The velvet cap is lined with a mauve taffeta fabric. You can see the hand stitching. The embroidery motif is a series of leaves alternating with trees.

Hat has an 8" diameter and 22 1/2" circumference.

Sometime back in the late 1800s, a small boy boy holding a lion tamer's whip prop stared with a tentative, almost frightened gaze at a Berlin, Germany studio photographer's camera. Over one hundred years later, his image survives on three antique carte de visite.

These carte de visite are part of a treasure trove of photographs from one Berlin family. I have other photographs of this child as well as his parents and sibling. The collection is an interesting visual glimpse into the life of a wealthy German family in the late 1800s into the early part of the 20th century.


Carte de visite were invented in Paris by André Adolphe Eugène Disdéri in 1854. He also developed a method of producing eight separate negatives on one plate making it easier to produce multiple cards of an identical image. In the mid to late 1800s, carte de visite became all the rage and were traded among friends and relatives.

Cards are in good condition for their age showing typical wear including scratches, edge wear, rubbing, fading, and spotting. Each card has the number "3225" written on the back in pencil and as well as the gold gilt stamp of Samson & Co Berlin. The back of one card is obviously darkened with age.

Framed together, these striking carte de visite would make an unusual and unique piece of nursery or boy's room decor.

Adorable, chippy, and old, this small vintage pig figurine is big on personality.

She appears to be cast out of plaster or some sort of composite material. She has nice detailing and an expressive face.

Through the centuries and in various cultures, the pig symbolizes abundance, fertility, strength, determination, and honesty.

This is an a very old plaster composite figure. She has some surfaces cracks and the paint is chipping.

A beautiful example of Victorian era gutta percha, this antique stamp box has a scrolling border design and floral accent on the lid. The vintage stamp box has an attached hinged lid and four small compartments.

Well over 100-years old, the antique box is a fine decorative object which will give a unique Victorian touch to a modern office desk.

The antique Victorian box is in good condition showing patina and age appropriate wear. There is an old chip on the back corner which does not detract from the decorative box's display or use (see photographs 6 & 7).

Gutta percha is a type of tree that produces a natural thermoplastic-like sap. Used for centuries by the islanders of the Malaysian archipelago, gutta percha became a popular manufacturing substance in the mid to late 19th century used in such diverse items as insulating material in undersea telegraph cables, Victorian mourning jewelry, and furniture.

This vintage Norwegian wood carving figure of a Lapland man in full traditional costume is a charming piece of folk art. Hand carved and hand painted, the vintage wooden figure is carved in the early Henning style. The wooden figurine is not marked.

True vintage circa 1960s, this proud Lapland fellow was brought home as a souvenir from a Scandinavian vacation. The vintage wood carved figure shows typical wear for a piece that was on display for many years, including some fading and chipping to the paint particularly on the shoulders.

The carved wooden figurine's wood spear is removable and is splitting towards the tip as shown in the photographs.

Fun decorative metal tray with a Chinese motif has images of various games & sports activities including jumping rope, billiards, tug of war, and other playground scenes. The images look as if they were reproduced from a set of cards. Each image has a number in the upper corner of the picture.

From an old Lionel Train set, this vintage floodlight tower has eight lights and will cast a cool look on your office decor, man cave, or any other spot you'd like a fun decor accent.

This Lionel's No. 195-15 Railroad Yard Floodlight Tower model was manufactured from 1957 to 1969. The floodlight tower is made from plastic and has eight spotlights at the top. The model has all eight lightbulbs. The spotlight tower is untested.

The vintage Lionel Train accessory is in good condition for a used train toy. It shows evidence of the passage of time including dings, scratches, and soiling.

The Lionel train scenery model is marked "PT. NO. 195-15 MADE IN U.S. OF AMERICA" and "195 RAILROAD YARD FLOODLIGHT THE LIONEL CORPORATION NEW YORK, N.Y." on the bottom and has two metal clips for connecting into a train set power grid.

This Lionel Train Railroad Yard Floodlight is untested and there is no guarantee that it will work. The unit is being sold "as is" as a fun decor prop.

This beautiful lacquer box once belonged to Walter T. Steves, a colonel in the U.S. Air Force. The lacquer cigarette box was a gift to Col. Steves from Col. Nguyen Duc De, Chief Adjunct General, Joint General State of the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces.

The lacquer box has four beautiful Vietnamese women on the lid and hinges open to reveal three tiered cigarette shelves.

The shelves are made of wood and have metal hinges. The top shelf has slots for 15 thin cigarettes. The middle shelf has slots for 15 thicker cigarettes, and the bottom shelf has 8 slots that look as though they could accommodate small cigars.

The box was used in its time and shows wear. There are scuffs and scratches on the lacquer as well as a few small chips along front edge. The presentation box has a blue plaque on the side which reads:

I found a reference to Col. Walter T. Steves. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He is buried in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas. His grave stone indicates that he served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.

"Look for the union label..."

Vintage Lucite bookends proudly displays The International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union (ILGWU) label. This rare bookend set dates from the early 1980s and is a very cool piece of industrial history.

Founded in 1900, and at its peak one of largest labor unions in the United States, the ILGWU was a major influence in American labor history. In 1995, the ILGWU merged with the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union forming Union of Needletrades, Industrial and Textile Employees (UNITE), which in turn merged in 2004 with the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Union (HERE) creating a new union known as UNITE HERE.

These are genuine vintage acrylic bookends from the 1980s. The Lucite blocks are mounted on a metal base which have rubber bottoms to protect furniture surfaces. The acrylic has a patina of age and some light scratches.

Jess Stearn, a sceptic reporter, was totally transformed in body and soul after a four month regimen of yoga and mediation. Written way back in 1965 before yoga became mainstream in America, this is an insightful and collectable book.

Impressive tall green glass vase has a dramatic black parrot & floral transfer design reminiscent of silver overlay designs found on glass Rockwell vases of the Art Deco period. This is a beautiful and unusual vintage vase.

I'm not sure exactly when this vase was made, as it does not have a markers mark, but its styling and manufacturing clues indicate that is was most likely made in the 1930s - 1940s.

The glass is not actually green. It has a paint transfer coating giving it the effect of cased glass. There are seams on each side of the green paint transfer but the seams are not evident inside the vase.

The vase shows wear including scratches, paint loss, and soiling.

Approximately 10" tall, 5" at its widest point, 3" base diameter.

This fantastic set of antique Jennings Brothers bookends depicts a stern Dante and his beautiful Beatrice. A rare Jennings Brothers find with a green polychrome paint finish, these vintage bookends would make a super gift for the literature buff or a dramatic statement on your library shelf.

Founded in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1890, the Jennings Brothers foundry was known for high-quality, hand-finished castings. The bookends are finely made with detailed, expressive faces.

This Dante and Beatrice bookend set is very rare to find with a polychrome finish. The bookends are very heavy. Each one has the Jennings Brothers "J.B." hallmark along with a casting number on the back -- 2484 on Dante and 2485 on Beatrice. The bookends are old and show typical signs of wear and a patina of age. The green polychrome paint is scratched off and worn in places, most notably on the figures's noses and on the back of Dante. The tip of Beatrice's nose is flatten. The bookends have been dusted but have not been given a deep cleaning.

This circa 1900 copy of Jules Verne's Among the Cannibals includes The Mysterious Document and On The Track which together are an English translation of Les Enfants du Capitaine Grant. An illustrated edition of this Verne work, the book has green cloth covered boards, a graphic cover with gold gilt lettering, and chapter title drawings by Henry Austin.

The highly decorative book cover would make a terrific decor accent in a library, office, or man cave.

The cover has noticeable wear particularly on the top and base of the spine including some loss and chipping. The pages are tanned with age.

I've noted an irregularity in the pagination of the book. Each story in the volume begins with an unpaginated page and then the next page is numbered "10" instead of "2."

In the Among The Cannibals section the chapter illustration and the first page (the unpaginated page and page 10) are detached from the book. Pages 10, 11, and 12 have residue of tape at the tops and bottom (see photograph four).

Originally published in France as Les Enfants du Capitaine Grant, this set of stories was then published in England by George Routledge and Sons as a three volume set titled A Voyage Around the World. It has also been published in English as In Search of the Castaways; or the Children of Captain Grant.
