This vintage C. S. Hammond world globe has a remarkable cast metal Art Deco era base with beautiful details and a lovely patina of age.

A rarity, the vintage terrestrial globe has a 9 inch diameter, paper map gores over a hollow steel orb, a finely wrought cast iron base with a half meridian finished in green, and a time dial at the North Pole. The vintage globes shows the principle steamship routes with distance in nautical miles, principle transcontinental railways circa 1930.

The world globe shows political boundaries as they stood in the late 1920s indicating the Chinese Republic (1912 - 1949), Persia, Palestine, French Indo-China, Japanese Empire, Indian Empire, Dutch East Indies, French Equatorial Africa, British Somaliland, Italian Somaliland, French West Africa, Belgian Congo, South Rhodesia, North Rhodesia, Bechuanaland, Portuguese East Africa, South West Africa (Damara Land), Orange Free State shown in the Union of South Africa (dissolved 1902?), Transjordan (1921 - 1946), Istanbul indicated with Constantinople in brackets, as well as other outdated political entities.

This is a very old world globe showing age appropriate wear with dulling to the paper gores, dings, marks, scratches, and paper loss most notably at the South Pole and in the North Atlantic Ocean off the coast of the United States where the steel orb is showing through (see photographs 4 & 5). The cast iron art deco case is clearly marked "C.S. Hammond & Co. Brooklyn, N.Y."

Blast off with Colonel Bleep!

This is no ordinary atomic age space travel guide advertising premium from the late 1950s, this is a rare bit of Colonel Bleep! ephemera.

Colonel Bleep was the first color cartoon made for television. Created by Robert D. Buchanan and illustrated by Joe Barbera, Colonel Bleep! aired as part of Uncle Bill's TV Club from 1957 to 1960.

Made of two pieces of cardboard, the vintage space age toy has an internal spinning wheel that rotates and reveals information on the planets in our solar system. The advertising premium has fabulous atomic era graphics including rocket ships, sputnik, outer space, as well as a graphic showing the relative size and diameter of space bodies compared to the earth.

The advertising toy was a premium for Table Queen Bread, a sponsor of Colonel Bleep! on WBRE-TV Channel 28 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The space travel guide is in good condition for its age showing typical age and use related wear. The cardboard is tanned with age with light soiling. The corners are not sharp. The most notable wear is on the "Table Queen Bread" side of the piece on the bottom right-hand corner where the guide was most likely held when in use. There is light pencil shading on Mars.

The space travel guide is marked "SA-132 Corp 1958 Specialty Advertising Service Inc. N.Y."

Arranged by flower color, How To Know the Wildflowers by Mrs. William Starr Dana (Frances Theodora Parsons) is as handy today as it was back when it was first published in 1893. This lovely 1914 edition of the botany classic has a beautiful decorative cover by illustrator Margaret Armstrong. Indices include Latin names, English names, and technical terms.

This is a genuine vintage book not a recent reprint. The book is in good condition showing typical wear for its age. Paper toned from age. Front hinge is weakening but the binding is tight. Cover has wear around the edges and on spine. Previous owner wrote his name and date in ink on the front right-handside endpaper.

Cram's 12 inch celestial globe is a scarce find, and this one is in fine condition for its age. This beautiful star globe shows the night sky against a heavenly blue background. The constellation globe has a celestial equator, ecliptic, autumnal and vernal equinoctial colures as well as summer and winter solstitial colures.

The globe is made up of coated paper gores over a plastic sphere. Major and familiar constellations such as the Great Dipper, the Sickle, and Orion are highlighted in yellow outline.

This outstanding vintage celestial globe is one of the last made before the space race and NASA's modern astronomy technology changed what we knew about the night sky and our universe. The globe has a full metal meridian with degree marks and a time dial at the top.

The globe sits in a full-ring gold-tone metal wire frame cradle with a metal horizontal ring with a printed table of the time, months, zodiac signs, degrees, and compass marks.

This is a genuine vintage globe not a reproduction. The globe is in remarkably good condition for its age showing light evidence of wear and the passage of time including spots on the printed table label on the horizontal ring, wear on the gold-tone wire frame and the metal meridian.

Made by Dodge, Inc, circa 1930s, the company that made the Oscar statues from the beginning of the award's history until the mid-1980s, the heavy metal bookends were cast from base metal, and have Dodge's signature bronze finish with rich copper highlights.

The vintage bookends are in good condition showing minimal wear. The bookends have a nice patina of age with one bookend retaining more of the shinier original finish. Each bookend has a small oval plague on the base marked "Miami Beach Florida."

The book should be handled carefully to prevent the cover from breaking from the book. The pages are tanned with age and there is some spotting and water stains at the edges of some pages. There are some small tears on the pages from page 447 - 451 that does not effect the readability of the text. Otherwise, the pages are clean. The binding is tight.

This vintage subminiature camera made in Japan circa 1950s is big on fun. Marketed as a spy camera during the Cold War era, the vintage miniature camera comes in its original box with its original film roll which is most likely no longer viable.

The original cardboard box is quite decorative with red & white candy stripe lines, an image of the camera on the front, and operation instructions on the sides. Camera and box are marked "Regent " and "Made in Japan."

Vintage choir angel Christmas decorations circa 1960 made in Italy, use these beauties as tree ornaments, in a manger display, or as part of a table centerpiece. The angels are playing instruments, a lute, cymbals, and lyre.

Molded from a high-quality hard plastic resin, these angels are in very good vintage condition. Each angel base is marked "Italy" and has a small loop in the back above the wings for a hang cord and an old metallic hanging string. Two of the strings are broken but could be retied or replaced.

Delicate and beautiful vintage Japanese Kutani bowl has a charming geisha scene with a bridge in the background. The vintage decorative bowl has a scalloped edge with a red border, red leaf design on the outside of the bowl, and contrasting cobalt blue and gold highlights on the geisha kimonos and background scenery.

The vintage Japanese bowl is hallmarked on the bottom in kanji characters.

Exhibiting a touch of the Japanese concept of wabi sabi, the Kutani ware bowl has some imperfections. There is a bit of wear on the red paint around the scalloped rim as show in photograph two, and there is a small chip on the underside of rim as shown in photograph three. The beautiful hand-painted bowl was just too lovely to pass up at a recent estate sale, and despite these flaws shows well. The bowl is priced accordingly.
