This antique library paste jar has a cool industrial chic look that would be equally at home in a vintage-themed office supply grouping or as an accent piece in a modern loft.

Although the jar has no makers marks, the design fits closely with patent No. 675,972 assigned to Carter's Ink Company in 1901. The paste jar has its original hard black plastic resin lid which has a brush attached to its underside. The antique paste jar is missing its glass paste pot insert.

Vintage photographs make interesting wall decor in a home, office, or workshop. This black & white panoramic group shot shows the cast and supporting crew for the Montclair Operetta Club's 1950 production of "The Song of Norway."

This old photo is an original print not a reproduction. The panorama group picture measures approximately 19 1/4 inches long by 8 1/4 inches.

The vintage photo is in good condition. There are few brown spots and pin holes at the corners. There is a slight curling at the edge of the long photograph.

I have another panoramic group photograph from the Montclair Operatta company, "The New Moon" produced November 1949. Interested in both vintage photos? Let me know and I'll put together a package deal.

Children Love Wonder Books!

Wonder Books with washable covers were mainstay reading for the baby boomer generation. They were found in schools, doctor and dentist offices, libraries, and local bookshops. This marvelous vintage store display sign advertises Wonder Books at their 1950s price -- a mere 25 cents per title.

This genuine vintage sign is perfect for any decor, hang it in the nursery, child's room, office, man cave, or library.

Constructed out of rigid pressboard, the sign is in good vintage condition. It has some nicks, mostly around the edges, a few scratches, and soiling from hanging in a book shop and being in storage for many years.

Sign measures 22 inches long x 6 inches high.

Depending on your perspective, this ceramic figurine could either be a sweet miniature white rabbit or a feisty March hare.

Rabbits are an ancient and widely found symbol of spring, renewal and fertility and are associated with the moon in Buddhist, Mayan and Mesopotamian cultures. The rabbit was sacred to Germanic fertility goddess Ostara or Eostre, and is closely linked to the celebration of the vernal equinox. The rabbit is the fourth sign on the Chinese astrological chart.

Rare old school book is slim in size yet packed with information on proper pronunciation and using the dictionary to determine correct English elocution. The antique textbook covers phonetics, accent, and frequently mispronounced words.

Published n 1915, this small vintage textbook is in good condition for its age. The cover shows sight wear at the corners. There is a library book plate from the Illinois State Normal University pasted to the front endpaper. Paper shows tanning from age. Pages are clean. Paper is supple. Binding is tight.

DMC Library Stitch Marking Series No.1 is filled with alphabet font letters suitable for monograming or other embroidery and needlework design ideas. The fold-out booklet also has designs for decorative borders, a train, dirigible blimp, hot air balloon, a ship, race car, fishing scene, and bicyclists.

This antique fold-out booklet is well over 100 years old. The leaflet shows signs of wear including light soiling and splitting along the crease lines.

Antique Japanese porcelain box from the late Meiji early Taisho period (circa 1910s) has a delicate hand-painted floral design. The small decorative trinket box can be used on a dresser for jewelry or as an elegant and practical organizer for small items on an office desk.

The vintage ceramic trinket box is approximately 100-years old and shows wear from the passage of time and use. These is some paint loss, a tiny flea bite on the box rim, and some soiling on the bottom. The antique box is signed in red Japanese characters.

This Chase Hand Painted Japan ceramic angel figurine was originally part of a larger set of choir cherubs. The angel is robed in white and has a 1940s hairstyle. The angel holds a scroll of music.

Made in the late 1940s - early 1950s, this angel is a classic mid-century Christmas decoration produced in Japan for the American market.

The angel statue is in good vintage condition showing typical wear including some paint loss. She has her original Chase Hand Painted label and is marked "Japan" in red.

Approximate Measurements:
5" tall x 2" wide x 1 1/2" deep

Colorful vintage world globe attributed to J. Chein, the tin toy maker, has a full meridian with degree marks, a time dial at the top, and a base indicating the seasons, months, and the zodiac signs. The vintage globe shows the path of the Graf Zeppelin flight of 1929, and has mileage indicators along major trade routes.

This scarce metal globe dates from the early 1930s. The lithograph colors are bright. The globe is in good condition showing age appropriate wear including dings, scratches and some paint loss. There are two dents in the globe, a small one in the Pacific Ocean and a larger one (best seen in photograph five on the right-hand side) below Japan.

The toy globe has a 7 inch diameter, and is 9 inches wide including the meridian. The small globe stands approximately 12 inches tall including the meridian.

Stop staring at me!

This vintage eye model will have everyone staring at it. Made in Germany by Somso, the famous anatomy model maker, the eye is a work of art. Somso models are individually hand assembled, and painted with exacting detail and anatomical accuracy. The science model is sturdy and in great condition. The anatomy model comes apart revealing the inner structure of the eye.

From the estate of an ophthalmologist, the model eyeball dates from the late 1950s, and was designed for use by medical students. The model is clean and shows minimal wear. All six original parts are present. Various points are marked with numerals, but the corresponding guide is lost to time.

The eyeball model would make an interesting prop or decor accent no matter where you choose to display it.

The eye model stands approximately 7 3/4 inches tall fully assembled.

This rare astronomy star finder device was invented by James Collin Dong and made by the Millar Instrument Company in Newark, NJ, circa 1946.

The rare astronomy instrument comes in its original box along with an instructional leaflet and a list of constellations and navigation stars.

Made from hard plastic with metal fittings, the vintage star navigation instrument has a latitude scale, date scale, hour scale, sidereal hour angle scale, and delineation scale, along with a bubble level built into the base.

The vintage astronomy device appears to be complete and in very good condition. All adjustments move smoothly.

The rare astronomy instrument has not been tested and is sold strictly as is.

Lovely vintage Hungarian Matyo dolls in traditional regional folk costumes would make an amazing addition to any doll collection. Rare to find in a set, the dolls have plaster faces and fabric bodies.

The detailed costumes include aprons with classic Matyo embroidery designs. The female dolls wears a traditional pompom headdress indicating marriage, as well as a costume with exaggerated puffed sleeves and a peplum adorned with lace.

The dolls are in good condition, but please note that the dolls are vintage and do show age appropriate wear. The man's hat is attached to his head with two pins which are loose. He has some paint loss on the back of his head.

Trio of vintage lab glass bottles will lend a scientific touch to your home decor. Vintage chemistry glass bottles make unique vases. Fill the vintage apothecary bottles with flowers and line them up on your holiday table, or fill them with small colorful buttons or beads.

Made long ago by the T. C. Wheaton Glass Company in Millville, N.J., the old glass bottles show wear but have no chips or cracks. The vintage bottles were once very dirty and were soaked and then cleaned in a delicate dishwasher cycle. Despite these cleaning efforts, some soiling remains in the bottles.

Two bottles are approximately 5 1/2 tall and are marked "T.C.W. Co. U.S.A." on the bottom.
The third bottle is slightly taller and is marked "Vitro U.S.A." on the side and "Wheaton U.S.A." on the bottom. The apothecary bottles have approximately 2 1/2" base diameters.

Bottle hold approximately 250 ml of liquid.
