Scarce first edition hardcover of Janis Ian's Who Really Cares would make a great gift for the literary enthusiast. Published in 1969 upon the release of her album of the same name, the book is a collection of her childhood poems.

Genuine vintage, not a recent reprint, this is an ex-library copy of Ian's hard-to-find poetry collection. The book is in a library mylar wrapper and has a white label at the base of the spine with the book's Dewey Decimal classification number along with a red x indicating that the book was a library discard. The book has library stamps on the bottom edge, title page, and back page (Half Hollow Hills Community Library). The page at the back of the book that had the library's due date card envelope has been torn away. There is some creasing on the dust jacket and other typical signs of wear. There is a light damp stain on the bottom edge of the book cover that does not effect the paper. The book does not have a musty odor. Pages are clean. Binding it tight.

Published in 1959, this vintage Rand McNally Space Age World Atlas was produced for AC Spark Plug Electronics Division of General Motors. The vintage space race era atlas contains color maps of the world, color maps of the moon and outer space, as well as star charts of the northern and southern hemispheres.

The over-sized vintage atlas is in good condition for its age showing typical wear. The spine has been reinforced with heavy tape and there is obvious wear at the base of the spine. The maps are in excellent condition.

Cheery vintage orange enamel tea kettle will add a fun pop of color to your retro kitchen decor. The circa 1960s orange enamel teapot has a sunburst pattern and an attached chain for keeping track of its lid.

This is a genuine vintage teapot from the 1960s. The vintage tea kettle was used in its time and shows age appropriate wear with some loss of enamel on the pot and lid edges. There are some rust spots on the interior white enameling.

Pot stands 6 1/2" tall including the lid and is approximately 7 3/4" wide including the spout and handle.

Salvaged vintage cast iron red fire truck toy would make a sweet decor accent in a child's nursery or a unique bookend in an office or library.

The vintage fire truck's red paint is in good condition with minor loss. The truck's cast iron front wheels are in good working order, but the truck is missing its back wheels.

The vintage metal fire truck is very heavy weighting approximately 3 lbs.

Although this is a vintage toy, the fire truck is being sold as a display piece not a child's toy.

The cast iron truck is marked "Iron Art JM 233" on the bottom.

Initially turned down by several publishers, A.E. Housman's A Shropshire Lad went on to become one of the most beloved collections of poetry during the 20th century. The small volume of sixty-three poems speak of youth, love, early death, nature, and the disappearing rural way of life. The poetry book was carried in the pockets of soldiers during World War I, given as gifts to young men, was the subject of school classroom recitation... "When I was one-and-twenty I heard a wise man say...."

This vintage volume of the classic poems is simply bound in brown cloth with gold title lettering on the cover and spine. The small book fits easily in the hand or pocket.

The book is in good condition. Some light soiling on the cover, wear at the top and bottom of the spine and the cover edges. The endpapers and book pages are slightly tanned with age lending a nostalgic tone to the book.

Filled with stylized line drawings, this vintage circa 1930s booklet gives a simple overview of basic self defense techniques and jiu jitsu moves. An added bonus is that the back half of the booklet is an advertising catalog with pages of ads for cheap, cool, and kitschy merchandise.

Published in 1935 on inexpensive pulp paper, it is scarce to find this title in good condition. This is a genuine vintage copy not a recent reprint. The pulp paper is heavily tanned with age but the paper is supple and not crumbly. There is damage to the spine which effects several interior pages as shown in photograph 3, but the binding is tight and there are no missing pages.

Antique set of gaming tokens, these brass coins in the shape of playing card suits where used for scoring in a variety of Victorian era card games including whist.

The vintage brass tokens have nice detailing that remains crisp despite obvious wear. The brass is fairly bright. The gaming tokens where used in their time and show light scuffs and scratches, as well as soiling. Two coins, the spade and the heart, have what look to be black ink spots on the registry side of the token. The diamond token has some red marks. I have not attempted to clean these gaming coins.

According to the Kovels English Registry Marks identification guide these brass game coins were registered on October 5, 1883.

The coins measures approximately 3/4 of an inch each.

Vintage medical science book published by Schering in the 1940s provided doctors, nurses, and other allied medical professional the latest information on sex endocrinology.

The small vintage book is filled with beautiful medical illustrations and has an artful graphic design layout not typically associated with medical books. The book has an eight-page glossy illustrated plate section. Given to doctors as a gift from the Scherling drug company, the volume includes a section on drug "package information" for treating endocrine problems.

This is a genuine vintage book from the 1940s. It shows light shelf wear and has some soiling on the cover. Although the binding is tight, the binding webbing shows through at the beginning of the illustrated plate section on at page 41.

This vintage copy of H. Von Michaëlis's classic bird book tells the story of how he came to know and love birds of prey after he took in and nurtured a fledgling. A well-known South African artist, the book is filled with Von Michaëlis's beautiful bird drawings in black & white and sepia along with eight color plates. This special book would make a great gift for the bird lover.

The vintage book is missing its dust jacket. The former owner cut Von Michaëlis's bio from the dust jacket flap and pasted it in the book on the back endpaper. Former owner also wrote his name and a date on the front endpaper. The cloth cover is in good condition. Pages are clean. Binding is tight.

Taken in Paterson, N.J. very early in the 20th century, this nursing school graduation portrait captures the youth and beauty of fourteen newly minted nurses.

The beautiful black and white photograph was professionally framed long ago. The antique photograph is mounted on a linen-like mat and is signed by the photographer (Busz) in pencil on the mat's lower right corner. The vintage photograph has a lovely tone and true antiqued look with silvering around the border.

The gold-gilted wooden picture frame has a carved detail and patina of age. The paper backing is torn with large areas of paper loss as shown in photograph five. The backing has a sticker from "Howard's Pictures and Frames" in Paterson, N.J. There is a wire on the back for easy hanging.

This vintage bowl is a lovely example of mid-century modern copper enamel work. The colorful swirl ed abstract design on the enamel bowl provides a pleasing contrast against the brown background.

The bottom of the bowl is finished in a shades of green and blue, and has an artist incised signature.

Genuine vintage copper enamel plate circa 1960 shows typical wear for a used decorative item. The surface of the enamel has some light scratches. There is a faint ring inside the bowl that looks like a watermark.

7 1/2 inch diameter
The bowl is heavy for its size.

Festive and beautiful vintage souvenir scarf from Spain depicts the vibrancy of Spanish culture with scenes of flamenco dancers, matadors, and bullfighting.

The scarf can certainly be worn as intended, but the vintage textile could also be hung as wall decor.

The scarf is in good condition. It has a machine-stitched hem, about an inch of which has come undone. The fabric feels like rayon.

Scarf measures approximately 30 inches long by 29 inches wide.

This vintage Lousil Manufacture gold eyed needle booklet is, well, Over the Top, not just in name, but graphically. Produced in Germany shortly after the conclusion of World War 1, the vintage needle book depicts doughboys in the trenches and charging through a horrific battle scene. The cover is clean, and bright.

The back cover shows a woman sitting at a table threading a needle with the caption "The Housewives' Delight," and that the needle "assortment contains Bodkin, Darning, Wool, Yarn, Cotton, Carpet, and Button Needles. There is a small bit of paper loss at the top right-hand corner of the back cover.

Obviously made for the American market, as the text is all in English, the antique needle booklet is in remarkably good condition for its age. And, the needle set is almost complete, missing only five (5) needles as follows:

8 size 4 (originally 10)
8 Size 3/9 (originally 10)
12 Size 1 (originally 15)

Most of the needles show corrosion.

Vintage Satellite Spin Away game by Consolidated Toy Mfg comes with all its game pins and two-part spinning top. The game board has cool atomic age cold war era graphics with rockets launching from earth towards Sputnik-like satellites.

The vintage toy comes with its original game box lid that instructs the players to "Place pins in orbits -- spin top to get score.

This vintage game would make a great decor accent in your office or man cave. It's sure to be a conversation piece. The game board is lithographed on sturdy cardboard and nailed onto the back of a 1 3/4 inch deep wooden frame.

The game is old, dating from the late 1950s - early 1960s, and shows signs of wear and tear. There is some soiling on the game board surface. The wooden game pins show wear including scuffs and scratches. The white pins show soiling from age. The two-part top is a bit tricky to put together -- you have to line up the small metal piece on the red wooden part of the top with one of the holes on the metal portion and twist the red part until it clicks it, but the top works. Photograph four shows the top in action.

The vintage game's box top is in good condition for its age. It shows fading and soiling and one corner is broken.
