Vita Sine Litteris Mors Est -- Life Without Literature is Death
This vintage metal Bradley & Hubbard bookend is the perfect gift for the lover of books, literary enthusiast, teacher, college professor, philosopher, writer, new college graduate, or anyone else who appreciates the written word.
Modified from a letter written by the Roman philosopher Seneca to Lucilius, this often quoted Latin phrase, is actually a bit of a twist on Seneca's actual words - Otium sine litteris mors est - Leisure without literature is death.
Please note that Bradley & Hubbard misspelled "litteris."
Please note that this is a single bookend not a set.
The cast metal bookend is heavy and in good condition for its age showing typical wear and a nice patina. The bookend has the Bradley & Hubbard "B&H" hallmark on the back.
