Thorvald Marthinsen Norway silver spoons in the Dovre pattern, this lovely design has a hammered handle with a floral overlay design. This set of seven (7) small sterling silver spoons can be used for expresso or when using smaller coffee cups. They are sure to add an elegant touch your table.

Rare British made G.W. Bacon map gores on a globe produced by Weber Costello in the United States captures the world at the very start of World War II.

Some of the interesting historical indications found on the globe include:

This is a 12 Inch Political Physical Globe by G.W. Bacon & Co. London & Weber Costello, Co. The globe's map gores were printed in England. The globe was made for school use, and is marked "Time Tested School Supplies." The globe has a full iron meridian and time dial at the top.

The globe is in good condition for a school globe that is well over 70-years old, but it does have issues. There are scuffs, soiling, dings, & areas paper loss, most notably in of the Eastern United States. The globes looks as if it might have been left uncovered in room that was being painted as there are what appear to be white paint drops on the globe (most notably on Morocco) as well as on the iron base. The iron base is rusty and the globe is secure, but a bit wobbly on the base. The base could easily be replaced. There are several areas where the plaster has been dented most notably in the Southern Hemisphere in the area of Argentina and in the area of the Himalaya Mountains.

The globe has a 12 inch diameter and stands approximately 18 1/2 inches tall including the meridian and 14 1/2 inches wide including the meridian.

The Breviarium Romanum, or Breviary, contains the Latin liturgical rites of the Catholic Church including prayers, hymns, psalms, and readings for daily use. This beautiful antique leather-bound copy of the Breviarium Romanum, Pars Hiemalis was published in 1914 by the Benziger Brothers.

The Breviary, Pars Hiemalis, is the winter volume of the Catholic rites, covering Advent, Christmastide, and the Epiphany, with prayers and readings up to and including the Saturday before the First Sunday of Lent.

This is an antique book dating from 1914. It is in good condition but does show age-appropriate wear from the passage of time and use. The leather binding is worn around the edges with some tearing and loss at the top of the spine. The pages are tanned with age yet supple. There is some light soiling on a few pages. Otherwise, the pages are clean. It looks as through someone cleanly cut the last three pages from the back of the book, or they may never have been present as it does not appear that any text is missing. Included with the antique prayer book are five (5) double-side pages of additional prayers:

Fleurs de lis are stylized iris flowers symbolizing royalty and are often used in French heraldry. But really, they are just plain cool. These large vintage black fleurs de lis would look awesome no matter where you decide to hang them.

Molded from plastic, each fleur de lis has a hole for hanging.

Double deck set of Fred Harvey Indians of the Southwest playing cards is a rare find. The playing cards have bold and beautiful graphics. The vintage playing card decks come in their original slip-case box.

Each deck has 52 cards. There are no jokers. The gold deck has gold gilt edges, and the silver deck has silver edges. The aces of spades in both decks are marked "The U.S. Playing Card Co, Cincinnati, U.S.A. P 1615."

The cards are in very good vintage condition. There is evidence of light wear but no creases or tears. The cards are crisp. The box shows shelf wear and is missing it's label. I believe the label would have identified this set as Congress Cell-u-Tone Finish playing cards.

Box measures 5 1/6 inches x 3 3/4 inches x 1 inch. Cards measure 3 1/2 inches x 2 3/8 inches.

Fabulous antique Art Nouveau glass lamp shade has a hand painted tree design with brown and blue accents. The vintage hanging lamp shade is designed to cap a ceiling light fixture.

From the estate of an avid globe collector, this vintage Replogle 12-inch Precision floor globe is made from a glass orb covered with paper map gores. The vintage world globe illuminates with the pull of an old-fashion light chain. Standing on a Duncan Phyffe style carved walnut wood base, the four fluted legs have decorative metal caps. The world globe was designed and edited by cartographer Gustav Brueckmann.


The vintage world globe has a full metal meridian, a metal night & day time dial at the North Pole, and its original electrical wiring and plug.

The political boundaries on the globe date it to circa 1948 - 1949. Israel has been created (1948) and Palestine no longer exists. Jordan is labeled Transjordan (1946 - 1948). The formal division of Germany into East and West has not occurred (1949). Korea has not yet been divided into North & South (1948). Indo-China has not been separated into Vietnam, Laos, & Cambodia. Thailand is labeled Siam (1945 - 1949).

This globe is over 65 years-old. The paper gores are all intact but do show soiling and browning at the seams. There are some soil marks, a few stray pencil marks, and scratches. There is a very small piece of paper missing in the middle of Saudi Arabia.

The metal meridian and time dial have a nice patina of age. The walnut base has a few light scratches.

Made by Sell Rite Gifts (SRG) in the 1940s, this vintage cast metal dinosaur has a bronze coating and a wonderful patina. He was made as a toy and sold, along with SRG's full line of metal dinosaurs, at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.

The miniature dinosaur model shows signs of wear with some chipping to the the bronze coating. He is marked "SRG" on the bottom.

The dust jacket shows signs of wear with chipping and tears around the edges, but it has done a fabulous job keeping the decorative cover of this antique book in marvelous condition. The embossed cover illustration is clean and bright. There is wear around the hardcover edges. There is some soiling on the hardcover spine.
