The first volume in John Gunther popular Cold War era Meet Soviet Russia series introduced the land, people, and sights of the U.S.S.R. to the young American reader. The vintage book has a colorful dust jacket as well as a pictorial cloth cover and is filled with intriguing drawings by Grisha Dotzenko.

This is a genuine vintage first edition of Gunther's Meet Soviet Russia not a recent reprint of this title. A former library book from the Glen Ridge Middle School Library, the volume has a library mylar protective cover over the dust jacket, library stamps on the page edges and title page, Dewey Decimal classification number on the spine, and library due date card in a due date envelope on the back endpaper. There are a few nicks and tears to the mylar cover. Over all the book is in good vintage condition.

Vintage from the 1950s, this rare piece from Hull Pottery is a deep purple-red with green fish. The pottery vase is in good condition with no cracks and no chips, but it does have a few minor manufacturing imperfections typical for these pieces.

This beautiful vintage heart-shaped Elgin American powder compact expresses "I Love You" in a multitude of languages. Made from gold-tone metal, the vintage powder case has a charming engraved image of cupid and winged hearts. The vintage powder compact would make a special gift or wedding day accessory.

A genuine vintage powder case from the 1950s, the compact shows some wear and the passage of time. There is some discoloration on the back as shown in photograph two, as well as a patina on the inside of the case as shown in photograph four. The mirror is a bit cloudy.

These vintage Jesus, Mary & Joseph figures would make a great nativity scene starter set. The plaster cast high-quality figurines are beautifully rendered with nice detailing. These are the larger size nativity with Joseph measuring 7" tall.

As these are genuine vintage, expect the nativity figures to show signs of age. Mary has a small chip on her hair. Joseph has some dark spots on his robe and a chip near the base. He has his original wire staff.

The Christmas figurines are marked "Italy" on the bottom.

Vintage custom-made little black dress is big on style. This striking cocktail dress has a beaded and sequined bodice, peplum skirt and back zipper.

The dress was tailor-made for its previous owner and does not have maker's, sizing, and fiber content labels. The fabric feels like wool crepe. The dress fits like a small. Zipper begins at the middle of the back not at the neckline. This is a beautifully made dress!

The dress is in very good vintage condition. It has a few missing beads & sequins in a small spot near the underarm on the left-hand side. Dress was attic stored & would benefit from a professional dry cleaning. Garment is priced accordingly.

Dress is shown on a 36 1/2" bust, 25" waist, 35" hip dress model.

Vintage playing cards made by Modiano for Italia Societa di Navigazione (Italian Line) come in their original box with a stylized art deco deer on one side and ocean liners on the other.

The bridge deck has 54 cards total including two jokers.

The cards, made of "siliconi" plastic are in good condition, but it is obvious this deck was used in play perhaps on one of the decks of an Italian Line ship. The gold gilt on the edges is almost completely worn away and the cards show typical wear, although they remain fairly crisp. The packaging box shows wear including worn corners, a few tears, and light soiling.

This is a scarce vintage card deck with a great art deco look.

Rare and interesting title edited by Alice Dunbar Nelson, The Dunbar Speaker and Entertainer contains poetry, drama, and prose specifically for an African American audience.

Published in 1920, the book includes selections by Paul Lawrence Dunbar, W.E.B. DuBois, Frederick Douglass, and Phyllis Wheatley, as well as line drawing and intriguing photographs of a young girl in various postures.

Alice Dunbar Nelson was an American writer and political activist, and prominent member of the Harlem Renaissance.

This is a genuine first edition copy of this rare title not a recent reprint. The book is nearing 100-years old and shows wear from age and use. The cover shows wear with light fraying at the corners, a few black ink spots on the front cover, white spots on the spine, and general soiling from age. The front hinge is weakened but intact, pages are tanned with age, there is some very light soiling on a few pages. Overall this is a good copy of a rare book.

Vintage Hair Style of the Month poster captures the essence of 1960s chic in this gorgeous portrait of a stylish woman. The interesting vintage poster would make an amazing wall decoration in a modern beauty salon.

Published in Chicago by Hair Style of the Month, this original poster was produced for display in hair and beauty salons across the United States. The poster is printed on sturdy coated paper and has an image on both sides.

This poster was displayed in a Chicago salon and remarkably shows very little wear. One side of the double-sided poster is slightly faded from the sun (see photographs 2 & 4). The edges are in good condition showing minor wear. There is type residue on the each side of the poster near the top. The poster was stored rolled up for many years. A professional picture framer should be able to transform this poster into a beautiful wall hanging.

Poster is marked "Hair Style of the Month, Chicago, Illinois."

Measurements: 20" x 16".

This pair of beautiful antique gesso picture frames are the perfect accessories for shabby chic decor style.

These are genuine antique frames circa 1910. Each wooden oval frame looks to have been carved out of a single piece of wood.

The frames are in very good condition. The painted gesso finished has a few small chips, most notably on the wider frame. There is an old wire hanger attached to the wider frame. Neither frame includes glass.

Outside measurements are approximately 10 inches x 8 inches.

Inside measurements are approximately 8 5/8 inches x 6 3/4 inches.

Cool 1950s Replogle Play Tray is just the right accoutrement for the digital age. It makes a perfect laptop tray or breakfast serving tray.

Intended as a child's sick bed tray, or for use in front of the TV, the metal tray has two folding legs that make it comfortable to use in many situations, as a computer stand, portable craft table, breakfast in bed, reading, writing, homework, eating a meal, etc.

The tray has a lithograph road trip map game of the United States. You'll find iconic images depicting American scenes and culture along the game route.

The tray is in good vintage condition. It shows wear and has light rust spotting. The folding game tray comes with its original box which shows considerable wear and soiling.

Tray measures approximately 20" long x 13 1/4" and about 7 1/2" tall with the legs open.

Vintage candle holder vase in the shape of a pitcher is an interesting mid-century glass piece made by L.E. Smith for their Fayette line of decorative glassware.

Designed in the late 1950s and manufactured into the 1970s, the glass vase has mid-century modern look. The vintage glass vase has a candle holder inside giving the piece a dual purpose. It can be used as a traditional vase or with a candle taper as a lantern.

The glass is a lovely, classic mid-century shade of blue turquoise.

The vintage glass vase candle holder is in good vintage condition. The piece has no chips and no cracks. There are a few bubbles in the glass from the manufacturing process.

Approximately 13" tall x 5 1/2" at its widest point.

This vintage cold war era Soviet cigarette dispenser is the perfect hiding spot for your secret stash, extra cash, small valuables, or anything else you'd like to store stylishly out of sight.

Made in the Soviet Union in the late 1960s, the metal faux book cigarette holder commemorates the USSR's space race accomplishments.

Each faux book is marked in Russian which translate to English as follows:

World's First Sputnik
USSR October 1957

First Man in Space
USSR April 1961

First Lunar Satellite
USSR April 1966

The vintage cigarette dispenser is in good condition showing typical wear with some light scuffing, patina, and spotting to the metal. Each book compartments holds ten cigarettes.

The vintage cigarette holder is also a vintage wind-up music box, but the musical device is not working as it should. When wound, the music plays very, very, very, very slowly and with stops and starts. I cannot identify the tune.

This Florenza jeweled vanity pen is a rare and beautiful find. The jeweled pen is made up of individual gold beads separated by faux turquoise and faux ruby rings. Vintage pen is topped with a fleur de lis embedded with a faux ruby. The highly decorative pen comes with its original gold-tone stand.

Founded by Dan Kasoff, the legendary Florenza Jewelry Company was an expert designer and producer of high-quality costume jewelry, decorative vanity items and purse accessories. Florenza designed jewelry for many major 20th-century jewelry companies including Hattie Carnegie, Weiss, and Coro.

This is a genuine vintage Florenza piece circa 1960s. The pen and stand are in very good condition. The pen's ink cartridge has dried out and the pen does not write. It might be possible to find a replacement cartridge. The pen is made up of individual beads and which can be unscrewed and taken apart to change the cartridge.

Pen measures approximately 5 1/2" long and stands approximately 6 inches tall including the stand.

These cute white & gold vintage angel candle huggers will add a touch of whimsy to your holiday table. Popular in the 1950s, candle huggers, or climbers, were made to fit on standard taper candles.

This set of angel candle huggers are unmarked but are identical to Howard Holt climbers that I've seen over the years.

Angel candle climbers are in very good vintage condition. No chips. No cracks. The figurines do have crazing typical of Japanese made ceramics of the period. Figurines show some wear on the bottom.

Measurements: Approximately 4" x 2 1/2" x 2 1/3"; Candle loop is approximately 1/2"
