This set of prison inmate salt and pepper shakers were made by inmates at the Missouri State Penitentiary. The vintage salt and pepper shakers would make an unusual home decor accent. The prisoner figurines are sure to be a conversation starter.

A unique bit of prison history, the rare salt and pepper shaker set is featured on the cover of Mark S. Schreiber's book Shanks To Shakers, and were once sold in the prison's gift shop along with other inmate produced arts & crafts. The cast plaster shakers are in good condition for their age with some chipped paint & nicks as shown in the photographs. Each inmate shaker has its original cork stopper and is marked "Souvenir of Missouri Penitentiary."

This vintage stegosaurus dinosaur model would make a fun decor accent on your office desk or in your man cave. The miniature dinosaur figurine is heavy enough to use as a paperweight and would make a sophisticated gift for the dinosaur enthusiast.

Cast from metal with a bronze finish, the dinosaur has a wonderful patina of age.

This miniature stegosaurus is in good shape for his age. He was played with in his time but maintains a good bronze patina with just a few small worn spots.

The dinosaur statue is marked 47 SRG on his belly.


SRG (Sell Rite Gifts) made a full line of cast metal dinosaur toy figurines from 1947 until about 1955. The dinosaurs were sold at the American Museum of Natural History in New York and other natural history museum across the United States.

Originally made as children's toys, the SRG dinosaurs in my shop are being sold as display pieces and collectibles for adults as the vintage toys most likely do not meet current toy safety guidelines.

The Motor Boys Across the Plains is the fourth volume in the Stratemeyer Synidcate's popular early 20th-century adventure book series. Published in 1907, the antique book has a charming decorative cover worthy of display.

The vintage book would make a fun gift for a car lover or an interesting man cave decor accent.

The antique book is in very good condition for its age. The cover is bright showing some light soiling and wear. There is some dust soiling on the page edges. The book sat on a shelf untouched for many many years. Pages are lightly tanned with age but supple. Overall, a good, clean copy of a scarce title.

Rare C.S. Hammond world globe in beautiful condition has a sleek metal half meridian and an Art Deco bakelite base. What makes this Hammond globe extra special is its rare 9-inch diameter and the presence of its original paper time and meridian disks which are rarely seen.

The world globe is in good condition for its age with some discoloration from age, a few stains, light marks, and small spots of a paper loss. There is a small indentation near New Zealand.

The globe dates to early 1930s. The globe shows the extent of British Empire at the time in pink, the Chinese Republic (1912 - 1949), Persia, Palestine, French Indo-China, Japanese Empire, Netherlands Indies, French Equatorial Africa, French West Africa, Belgian Congo, South Rhodesia, North Rhodesia, Bechuanaland Protectorate, South West Africa (Damara Land), Tannu Tuva (Misspelled Tuwa, 1921-1949), Transjordan (1921 - 1946), Istanbul indicated with Constantinople in brackets, and various other outdated political entities.

Burke's Speeches at Bristol Previous to the Election and Declining the Poll are considered masterworks of oratory.

This book was much loved and reviewed by its former owner who wrote his name and a date in ink on the front end paper -- Joseph W. Howe A.B. 1931. The book is heavily annotated throughout and there are old paper clips holding pages 55 through 78 & pages 85 through 92 together.

The most curious personal touch found on this vintage book, is the notation inked on the page edges " Open Only On Dec. 25 Santa Claws."

Exquisite Japanese obi sash, this smaller version of a formal maru obi has an elaborate peony and butterfly design in shades of orange, a traditional color for a child's obi sash, with accents of gold and blue.

Woven from silk, the obi belt is heavy weight and rather stiff. This beautiful vintage textile would make an amazing wall hanging. This early 20th century child's kimono obi belt could also be used as a table runner.

Circa late 1800s hand-painted decorative tray is a real beauty. The round metal tray is heavy and sturdy, and the toleware floral design is artfully painted.

Painted in shades of golden yellow, the decorative tray has a bouquet of classic spring flowers including tulips and daffodils.

From the estate of the ancestors of Duncan Phyfe, the antique tray shows the passage of time and has a lovely patina. There is some chipping to the paint around the rim and some scratches and scuffs.

The Denoyer Geppert globe gores show brown spotting and discoloration typical of paper that has been pasted over metal. The browning obscures some of the globe's features. With a magnifying loupe and a close look you can identify the Japanese Empire, Constantinople in Turkey, Leningrad (changed from Saint Petersburg in 1924), and much more.

There are some spots of paper loss most notably on the Southern Hemisphere just below the Equator in the Pacific Ocean.

The miniature hollow metal orb easily comes off its metal spindle which is mounted on a what appears to be a heavily vanished wooden base.

There are a few coins rattling around inside the globe bank. To maintain the integrity of this antique globe bank in its found condition, I have not tried to separate the orb to retrieve the coins.

Scarce vintage world globe Thorne's Toffee tin has a great patina and shows the world's political boundaries in good detail as they were before World War II.

The small tin globe can be released from its meridian, and opens to reveal a great place to stash candy, money, or any thing else you'd like to conceal.

Although not marked "Chad Valley," the globe looks identical to those produced by Chad Valley during the same time period. The globe is marked "Made in England" at the base of the stand. The bottom is lithographed with "Thornes Leeds, England The World's Premier Toffee."

This globe dates from the early 1930s and shows signs of age and use with dings, marks, and soiling. There are traces of tape residue on the black base. The globe has some light rusting on the surface as well as rust inside the hollow cavity. There is a large dent between China, Korea, & Japan. The base is slightly off kilter.

Stands approximately 9 inches tall.
Globe has approximately a 4 1/2 inch diameter.

Beautiful artist-signed antique Limoges plate has Bawo Dotter Elite Works stamps dating its creation between 1900 - 1914. Made in France, the gold-rimmed serving plate can be used as a cake plate or displayed in a breakfront.

The plate has hand-painted red tulips outlined in gold.

This is an 100-plus year-old plate. It is in very good condition for its age. There is some wear on the gold around the rim. If you run your finger around the plate's footing - not the gold rim - you might detect two tiny flea bites.

Vintage set of eight (8) children's activity books by Saalfield Publishing have amazing lithograph covers suitable for framing. They would make lively & colorful nursery decor or decorations in a child's room.

The activity books are in good condition. The booklets includes coloring books, connect the dots, puzzles, mazes, games, and other typical activities. Each booklet has a colorful decorative front and back cover, a stapled binding, and approximately 8 double-side pages of activities. The covers are in very good to excellent vintage condition. The interior pages are beginning to yellow with age. A few booklets have some pages filled in. I noticed a few tears on some pages in a few of the booklets that appear to be from the manufacturing process.

Insects, a perennially favorite reading subject for children, are rendered in beautiful lithographs in this vintage children's book. The charming book provides a colorful introduction to entomology.

A Child's Book of Insects by Sy Barlowe published in 1952 by Maxton Publishing is filled with information along with detailed bug art in color and in black & white. The front cover binding is quite decorative with a dandelion and various bugs including a dragonfly, butterfly, & bees. I could envision the volume displayed cover out on a shelf in a nursery or child's room.

The book once belonged to the Cedar Grove, NJ School system and has a stamp on the inside front endpaper "Aug 1960 Property of Board of Education of Cedar Grove." Other than the stamp, it is free of marks. It does has a ripped page (see photography 4). Several other pages have small tears near the bottom that do not interfere with the insect pictures. The spine shows some wear most notably at the bottom and at the edges.

Made by Aero Products Research, Inc., Culver City, California, The E6-B2 aviation calculator comes with its original vinyl case and instruction booklet. The slide-rule aviation calculator is in very good condition. Former owner worked some of the instruction booklet's problems in pencil.

This vintage Sanford ink bottle and wood dip pen holder with nib would make a cool display in a high-tech office.

The glass ink bottle and vintage dip pen with nib show well and would make a nice decor element in your home or office.

The aqua glass ink bottle is bottom marked "Sanford's" along with the numbers "39" &"15." The glass bottle is very old and shows wear consist with its age and use. It has a few flea bites, a small chip on the rim and a crack about the shoulder point of the bottle. The vintage wood pen holder has a metal off-set nib holder and is marked "Pat'd" with what looks to be the numbers "1869." The pen nib is an Eagle 370 made by the Eagle Pencil Company.

Vintage set of to do list calendar notebooks cover the months from January through November. I guess that means you get December off!

Dating from 1986 and given away by the Parke-Davis pharmaceutical company, the small calendar date books can be used as intended, as vintage office decor, or a photography prop.

Each notebook has a table of apothecary doses at the front and a comparative temperature scales chart at the back.

The small note books come in their original slipcase.

The lot includes 11 notebooks for the months January through November. December is missing.
