Vintage 1940s romance novel by Carol Morris, Honeymoon in Bermuda is a classic formulaic love story. A great gift for the romance novel collector, the book could also be used as an wedding engagement photo prop, or wedding decor. The book was published in 1948 by Arcadia House, a now defunct publisher of popular westerns and romance novels.

This first edition copy of Honeymoon in Bermuda is missing its dust jacket. The front & back endpapers have a library stamp from the Pilgrim Church S.S. Library in red. The front endpaper also has a hand written note "Given by Florence A Goodhue." The book has a library card pocket in the back along with the volume's Gaylord library due date loan card.

The cover shows wear including rubbing, bumping at the corners, spots and some glue residue on the back. The first few pages of the book have brown spots on the lower edge and a few pages have some smudges. Paper shows typical signs of aging.

I found this amazing U.S. Army issue Christmas Card at a used book sale in a bin of miscellaneous correspondence from the 1950s and 1960s. Look closely and you will see the soldier in the drawing is looking down on a nativity scene of Mary, Joseph, & Baby Jesus under the Star of Bethlehem. The card was sent from the U.S. Army Marne Division.

The 3rd Infantry, also known as the Marne Division and the Rock of the Marne, was stationed in Germany during the Cold War, the time from which this card dates. This much decorated U.S. Army unit has an illustrious military history going back to WW I.

The soldier wrote his holiday message on the back of the greeting card.

Cobalt blue glass paperweight commemorating the 1980 U.S. Open at the Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J. is a rare piece of golf memorabilia. The hefty glass disk has a hand-etched number "0169," and was one of a very limited number of paperweights made as souvenirs of the golf event. The glass paper weight is embossed with "U.S. Open 1980 GBC Baltusrol" as well as Baltusrol's logo.

Jack Nicklaus won the 1980 U.S. Golf Open played June 12 -15 at Baltusrol Golf setting a new tournament scoring record. It was his fourth U.S. Open win.

This is a very heavy piece of glass. The paperweight is in very good vintage condition. The piece has some scratches and scuffs on the underside. No chips. No cracks.

I love old pencils. I think they sharpen up nicer than newly manufactured ones. This instant collection of vintage pencil in shades of blue would look cool displayed in your office. The pens have an assortment of advertising on them including Sears, Roebuck Co., Tupperware Home Parties, various plumbing businesses, & Harrison Recreation Lanes in Harrison, N.J.

Most of the pencils are graphite, but the grouping also includes an Eagle "Chem Sealed" Verithin indigo blue and two Dixon Phano china markers.

There are ten (10) pencils total. Some are sharpened, some are not. The erasers feel dry and may not work. Pencils have a varying degree of wear including nicks in the wood, paint loss, & some soiling.

Pencils range in length from 7 1/2" to about 4 1/4."

An interesting bit of vintage Cold War era anti-Communist propaganda, Mind and Spirit in the Land of Soviets was published in 1947 by the Catholic Information Society.

Part of a series of Catholic booklets that professed to be "The most fearless and factual exposé of Communism ever published," the small pamphlet appears to never have been circulated. It is in very good vintage condition showing some shelf wear at the corners.

The pamphlet's cover has a photograph of a Soviet May Day military display outside Lenin's Tomb.

This antique black crochet purse has steel cut beads and an expandable gate top metal reticule closure with a fleur de lis design.

The steel cut micro beads on this chatelaine purse are arranged in a pleasing geometric pattern. I tested the beads with a magnet and they are indeed steel.

Overall, the purse is in remarkable condition for 100+ year-old lady's handbag. Some of the steel beads show rust. All beads appear to be present. The crochet work bag is in very good condition and is securely sewn to the gate-top closure. The expandable metal opening is tarnished but in good working order. The top of the closure looks as though it may at one time have had black paint or enameling.

Measurements: 5 1/2" long including fringe; 2 3/4" at its widest point;

This German language book set has beautiful brown & gold decorative bindings, an instant collection that would look handsome on any shelf. Printed in heavy Gothic typeface, the book pages are as attractive as their covers. As I don't read German, I can't comment on the content.

The five (5) books in this listing are part of a 10-volume set of novels by Gottfried Keller published between 1904 and 1911 in Stuttgart and Berlin by Cotta'sche Buchhandlung Nachfolger.

A 19th-century Swiss writer who wrote in German, Gottfried Keller is best known for his novel Der grüne Heinrich (Green Henry). Keller was one of the most popular writers of literary realism in the late 19th century. Der grüne Heinrich is included in this listing. This set includes volumes 1, 2, 6, 7 & 8.

The books are in good vintage condition with typical wear for their 100+ years. Covers show some rubbing and wear mostly at the edges and along the spines. Der grüne Heinrich has a stain on the back cover. It looks like a few of the books had silk bookmarks which have broken away.

Books measure approximately 7 3/4" x 5 1/4." The book stack takes up about 5 1/2" of shelf space.

Small, decorative metal pot hand-wrought from copper with a red and black enamel interior was made by the famed Nekrassoff studio. Beautifully formed and finished, the copper pot has a subtle hammered appearance.


This is a hand-made piece of metal art made in the late 1940s - early 1950s. The piece is signed "Nekrassoff" on the bottom.

A former Russian imperial guard, Serge Nekrassoff fled the country during the Russian Revolution, traveling through Germany, France, and Argentina before settling in the U.S.A. in 1925. Having learned the art of metal-smithing in Paris, Nekrassoff established a studio in New York City working mostly with pewter. In the late 1930s, he moved his studio to Connecticut. With the scarcity of copper during World War II, Nekrassoff turned to smithing with copper and finishing the pieces with an enamel overlay.

This small copper pot is old and shows signs of age. the sculpted handles do not appear to be copper but possibly pewter. You can see the pewter coming through mostly at the points were the handles were soldered to the pot. The soldering at the base of one handle has broken free, but the handle is secure. The interior enamel has three areas of noticeable wear.


The small pot measures:

Rare Tammis Keefe Greenwich Village MacDougal Alley handkerchief from the 1950s, this is a beautiful example of the legendary textile designer's work. Part of a series of handkerchiefs she designed with scenes from major cities and sites across the United States, these hankies are becoming harder and harder to find.

Made from cotton, the handkerchief is in exceptional condition for a 60 year-old textile. Having been gently used once, or twice by its previous owner, the colors are bright. The hanky has no holes or tears. Hand rolled hems are in excellent condition.

These pocket-size vintage science books are packed with the most up-to-date science information circa 1926. The Popular Guide to Science, Vol 1 & Vol 2 edited by E.E. Free have decorative green cloth bindings with a textured "leatherette" look.

The questions range from common everyday occurrences of weather, to geology, the human body & mind, astronomy, electricity, chemistry, workings of radio, & questions (along with answers) that would be socially unacceptable by today's standards. The clear & concise answers are written in a breezy style. Reading the answers shows how far science & society have advanced since 1926.

This rare antique Gambrell Bros Ltd. London electronic voltage meter is a work of art. I'm not sure if this antique piece of scientific equipment works, but it sure would make a cool and unique decor accent in your office, workshop, library, studio, man cave, or anywhere you want to show off your quirky good taste.

Encased in a small, beautifully made dovetail wood box, the meter is in very good cosmetic condition. The wood finish has a few dings and scratches and there is a screw missing from the back which does not compromise the integrity of the box (see photograph four). The meter reading gauge as well as the equipment device number, and other notations on the gauge face appear to be hand lettered and numbered.

Classic green antique seltzer bottle has Victoria Bottling Co New York on the glass and part of an Excelsior Beverages, Newark, N.J. paper label. The metal siphon cap is engraved "Excelsior Bev. Inc. 14."

The glass seltzer bottle is in good condition, but as it is genuine vintage, it does show wear. I did not remove the metal siphon cap. The interior of the bottle has condensation. The siphon straw is present. Bottom of the bottle is marked "137" &"M-14," as well as "21" at the base which is barely noticeable.

Vintage paper Christmas napkins in their original decorative "Happy Holidays" box can be used for cocktails, luncheon, or for craft projects, including decoupage. Napkins have a red and green holly leaf and berry motif with gold embellishments.

These beautiful vintage paper napkins were made in Denmark and date back to the 1960s. The box is in very good condition and has an interesting shape. The box contains fourteen of its original twenty napkins. One napkin is slightly yellowed from age, the other thirteen are in very good condition.

When opened, the napkins are approximately 13" in diameter. Folded, the napkins measure approximately 9 1/4" x 7" in a fan shape.

Ornaments not included.

Published in 1947, this early Cold War era pamphlet is an interesting political history document. This vintage booklet is part of a series of anti-Communist pamphlets distributed by the Catholic Information Society which advertised itself as "The most fearless and factual exposé of Communism ever published."

Without a shred of irony, the vintage pamphlet outlines the Soviet imperialistic "Red Drive" against the colonies of the former imperialistic Europe countries.
