Prim and proper portrait of a gorgeous redhead, this vintage Hair Style of the Month poster is as striking as it is retro.


Published in Chicago by Hair Style of the Month, this original poster was produced for display in hair and beauty salons across the United States. The poster is printed on sturdy coated paper and has an image on both sides.

This poster was displayed in a Chicago hair salon and shows wear. One side of the double-sided poster is slightly faded from the sun. The poster has some wear on the edges, light soiling, and tape residue where it was affixed to a display. The poster was stored rolled up for many years.

Measurements: 20" x 16".

I have a whole treasure trove of these marvelous hair style posters and will be listing them in my shop over the next several weeks.

U.S. Army Infantry Drill Regulations, 1935 edition, is filled with information and illustrations. An interesting historical document, this military training book has a hand drawn illustration of a rifle as well as the signatures of fourteen men who trained together. This list of names is head "CMTC 1938." CMTC is the acronym for Citizens Military Training Camp. Authorized by the National Defense Act of 1920, the camps were run in the summers from 1921 to 1940 on military bases throughout the United States.

Vintage Ukrainian pysanky Easter egg with a hand painted picture of St. Basil's Cathedral is a masterpiece of folk art.

I bought a basket full of these amazing hand painted pysanky eggs at an estate sale. They are delicate and beautiful creations.

This is a vintage egg, a real chicken egg. The insides of the egg were blown out before the shell was prepared and transformed into a pysanky. Dating from the 1970s, the Easter egg is in remarkably good condition

Vintage TAP (Transportes Aéreos Portugueses) menu has a detachable large-format postcard depicting the Portuguese folk dance Bailinho Da Madeira Camacha.

The menu postcard is No. 7 in a series of paintings by Abilio Mattos e Silva a noted artist and costume designer for the opera, ballet, and theatre.

The card is in good condition showing slight wear around the edges and at the base of the fold.

This antique veterinarian book has a beautiful decorative cover worthy of display with a gold gilt dog and title lettering and images of deer, a horse, goat, sheep, dog, fox, and rabbits around the cover boarder.

The antique book is filled with interesting information on caring for dogs, beginning with an introduction covering modes of administering medicines, exercise, and feeding and continuing on with an alphabetically arranged section on diseases and accidents. The book includes an index to prescriptions mentioned in the text, a list of additional books on dogs as well as a list of practical handbooks published by L. Upcott Gill on such varied subjects as angling, organizing bazaars and fancy fairs, raising cacti, card tricks, fancy mice, seaside watering places, and ventriloquism.

The book also has advertising for various dog related items and services including an advertisement for canine surgery, dog medicines, and Spratt's Dog Cakes.

Published in the late 1800s, the book is in good condition for its age. The cover illustrations are in marvelous condition. The cover shows wear at the corner edges and has some spots and light soiling. Pages are tanned from age with light foxing on a few pages at the front and back.

This pocket-size circular slide rule is one cool vintage math calculator and conversion tool. Made by Concise Corporation and distributed by Takeda Drawing Instrument, this vintage slide rule comes with its original plastic slip case and instruction booklet.

Concise was known for manufacturing slide rules as promotional give aways for American companies. You'll find interesting information about the Concise company as well as examples of the many varieties of slider rulers they produced on the sliderulemuseum.com website.

The slide rule is in very good condition. There is some light wear and soiling on the plastic slip case.

The vintage slide rule would make a terrific gift for an engineer or tech geek. Vintage calculating tools also make great decor accents.

Vintage group of turned wood finials can be used as furniture parts in a new project, in a restoration project, or simply displayed for their interesting urn-like shapes.

The lot includes two different wooden finial styles, four of one type, and one slightly taller and rounded. These are antique reclaimed pieces of wood salvaged long ago from pieces of furniture. The finials are made of hand-turned hard wood and show wear including some scuffs, dings and scratches.

The four smaller finials are 3 1/2 inches tall with a 1 1/4 inch base diameter.
The taller finial is 4 inches tall with a 1 5/8 inch base diameter.

Written by Carla Greene and illustrated by Katherine Evans, this child's career book is part of a series published in the late 1950s and early 1960s by the Children's Press. The yellow cloth binding has blue graphics of children dressed in the clothing for various careers, such as a fireman, doctor, teacher, cowboy, seamstress, baker, and football player.

Book is in good condition for a 50+ year-old children's book that was used in a public school system. The cloth binding is fraying at the edges and has worn away completely at the top and base of the spine. Binding is tight. Pages are clean. Book has a date (May 29, 1961) and Cedar Grove, N.J. Board of Education stamp on the front right-hand side endpaper.

Solid copy of Jean Paul Sartre's classic Existential novel, The Age of Reason is the first book in his The Roads to Freedom trilogy. Concerned with Existentialist concept of what it means to be free, the book is set in 1930s Paris and is considered a fictional presentation of the ideas found in Sartre's Nothingness and Being.

This circa 1940s Modern Library Book edition of Sartre's work has an intriguing cover design, decorative endpapers, and an attractive blue cloth binding with silver lettering.

The dust jacket shows wear most notably along the edges with small tears and paper loss at the top and bottom of the spine. The pages are clean. Binding is tight. The front right hand-side end paper has been torn out and the page preceding the title page has been carefully taped into the book.

Back in the 1950s a young child colored pages in this William Boyd Star of Hopalong Cassidy Gives a Helping Hand A Book To Color, now you can own this TV Western collectible. The small-format vintage coloring book dates from the 1950s. The cover is bright and in good condition, and has the same graphic on the front and the back. Printed on cheap paper, the pages of the coloring book are tanned with age. Approximately half the book has been colored in.

Antique circa 1919 Ross of London War Department Pattern 373B brass telescope has a lovely patina of age and would make a fun decor element in a nautical themed room or man cave.

The vintage brass spyglass does not work and is being sold as a display piece. The brass has a deep patina along with some dings and scratches. You can see light through the telescope but it does not focus. The objective lens is cloudy and dirty. It's obvious that the antique spyglass was not stored properly over time.

The telescope is marked Pattern 373B Ross London and has serial No. 87940 which according to Wilkinson and Glanfield's A Lens Collector's Vade Mecum the piece dates to approximately 1919.

Sweet trio of vintage pottery chalkware figurines includes two angels and a little boy with his dog. The miniature figures make a very appealing display grouped together. The figures are reminiscent of Jean Manley's pottery and Hermione Palmer's early work. The boy reminds me of Tintin and his dog Milou (aka Snowy).

Found in a box of vintage miscellaneous pieces of California pottery, one of the figures, the angel with black wings with gold polka dots has a curious makers mark, ""Four Star Lines Hollywood Calif. Hand Made."

The circa 1940s figures show wear including chippy paint, soiling, and small chips most notably on the angels's wings.

Made by Schall & Co, the vintage pewter mold was designed to shape one serving of ice cream. The pewter pumpkin mold has the Schall "S & Co" mark along with the number "600."

The antique mold is good condition showing typical wear for a pewter mold that is over 100-years old. It has some marks, dings, and a patina of age. The vintage ice cream mold's previous owner put four green felt furniture protectors on the bottom of the piece.

Circa 1920s vintage art reproduction of Charles Bosseron Chambers "The Light of the World," a detail from the larger painting "St. Joseph with the Child Jesus," is a lovely piece of Catholic art. The vintage art print would make a special gift.

Along the way, the vintage religious art print was put into a classic 1950s gold-tone filigree frame. The frame has an easel back and also a metal hoop making it easy to hang the beautiful piece of Christian on the wall as decor.

The art reproduction is in very good condition as it has been well preserved under the frame's glass. The vintage gold-tone filigree frame shows typical age-related wear on the gold, mostly around the edges, but is still in good condition.

The original "St. Joseph with the Child Jesus" hangs at the St. Ignatius Church in Chicago.
