Rare late 1930s pre-World War II Cram's Universal Terrestrial 9 inch illuminated globe shows Italian East Africa (formed in 1936), as well as British Somaliland, which was conquered and annexed by Italy in 1940. There are no indications of Nazi expansion in Europe.

The vintage globe has an Art Deco metal base and half meridian, and a pull chain to activate the internal light. The electrical cord is more modern than the globe indicating that it was replaced at some point. The light works, but the globe has darkened so much from age that it gives off a very very faint glow.

The globe has a lovely vintage patina. The dark blue oceans contrast beautifully against the straw tones of the continents. The globe is soiled and there is some cracking of the pasteboards, sections of the equatorial band are missing, and there is some separation at the Equator through Africa. Please look closely at the photographs. I'd be happy to send you additional photographs of this fine globe.

Colorful vinyl-coated cardboard picture records, this Playsong Records collection of wild west country western cowboy songs is in its original packaging -- truly a rare find. Depicting detailed scenes of the old west such as stagecoach depot, cowboys on the prairie, and a rodeo, the vibrant red, blue and black graphics really pop against the white vinyl background. The illustrations are absolutely charming!

Not sure if these records are playable, but they would make an awesome shelf or wall display.

Use this high-quality vintage blue, red & yellow plaid fabric in your next sewing project.

This wonderful tartan comes with a curious label from "Oz Maren Wizardry of Oz." I couldn't find any information about this textile company, but the tag indicates their business address was 180 Madison Avenue in New York City. Maren is the last name of one of the Wizard of Oz Lollipop Guild Munchkins from the 1939 film. Could there possibly be a link?

From the estate sale of woman who did a lot of sewing back in the late 1950s to early 1970s, this wonderful fabric is in "as new" vintage condition.

Fabric is over 10' (feet) long (a generous 3 yards) x 57" wide.

These small silver plate individual serving vessels were once used in Italian hotels. Dating from the 1930s, I'm not sure of their original purpose, but you could use them for as teabag holder, for lemon slices, as individual creamers or salad dressing servers, etc.

Two of the vessels are bottom marked "Hôtels Giacomelli." The other vessel is bottom marked "Albergo Tettuccio" and is also marked "Broggi." Fratelli Broggi Milano made silver plate serving wear for the hotel and steamship trade.

The vessels will come to you with a beautiful patina of age acquired over the years. If you prefer your silver plate polished, please use a gentle cleaning method as these are vintage plated pieces.

Look closely at the photographs and you will see that the vessels vary ever so slightly in size, averaging approximately 4 inches across including the handle by 2 inches across by 1 1/2 inches tall.

Don't think I could have explained the contents of this work as well as the title pages of this two-volume antique leather bound edition of this historically significant military and civil study of the late 1700s and early 1800s Europe and United States.

Thoroughly readable, these fully-illustrated antique history books would also look fabulous as props or in your home or office library.

The books are in the general condition you would expect from leather-bound volumes from the mid-1800s. The leather is worn at the edges, with some scuffs and scrapes, the corners are bumped. There is foxing on the pages throughout the books. Volume II has staining on the cover and on the lower right-hand side through approximately the first third of the book and then again on pages towards the back of the book. Heavily illustrated, each engraving is protected with a tissue-sheet cover. There are portrait engravings of many of the major military & political figures of the time including Napoleon Bonaparte, his wife, Josephine, group portraits of British Admirals, Alexander I, to mention just a few. Each volume has hand-marbled endpapers and marbled edges. Bindings are tight. Previous owner signed his name twice in pencil in the front of volume two.

The set was published in Philadelphia in 1849 by Thomas Davis. Volume I has 602 pages. Volume II has 599 pages.

Vintage beauty salon display poster shows a pretty blond with a very 1960s modern hairdo. Dressed in a green print dress, the model appears to be holding shafts of wheat.


Meant to be displayed in a hair salon window, the double-sided poster is printed on sturdy plastic coated paper.

The poster was stored rolled up for many years and is in good condition for its age. It shows signs of use and wear. One side (second photo) is slightly faded. There are a few tears and chips as well as some scotch tape residue. A good picture framer could transfer this vintage poster art into an amazing walling hanging for your home or business.


Poster measures 20" x 16".

Adorable vintage copper pot in the shape of an ancient amphora, use this tiny vase to display some pretty little posies. My imagination sees the miniature vase filled with violets.

Not exactly sure of the dating or provence of this small amphora. Bought at an estate sale, the story was that it was a tourist souvenir brought home sometime in the 1960s from Italy or Greece.

The teeny tiny vase is in good condition. The copper has a nice patina. There is a small spot of verdigris near one of the handles.

With no documentation or instructions, these vintage fortune telling cards are a bit of a mystery. Included in a lot of assorted circa 1970s fortune telling items, the tarot card deck was found in the purple tarot bag shown in the photographs.

The tarot deck has an Egyptian theme and a black spiral design on the back. The playing card deck includes the 56 Minor Arcana cards in four suits, clubs, shields, swords, & cups, as well as the 22 Major Arcana cards.

The fortune cards are in good condition showing light wear. The purple card pouch has several small holes (see photograph 5).

Cards measure approximately 4 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches.

Sweet Fenton Glass top hat can be used as a vase, planter, candy dish or general what-not organizer. The art glass has an interesting look with Fenton's French Opalescent white interspersed with clear glass giving the piece a striped look. I think the glass top hat would look nifty filled with red and green candies for the holiday season.

The glass vase dates from the late 1930s to early 1940s. It is missing its Fenton label. The piece is in very good condition. No chips. No cracks.

Piece is approximately 3" tall with a 2 3/4" base diameter. The top measures about 4 3/8" across by 3 5/8".

Designed for traveling, this antique inkwell has a clever barrel shape with a push button activated lid. The inkwell has a great patina of age and comes with its original glass ink pot insert. The non-magnetic metal inkwell has a worn brass finish on the outside and a silver tone metal inside.

The inkwell dates from the 19th century and is well over 100-years old. It shows considerable signs of use and age. The interior has ink residue and some corrosion. The glass ink pot insert has a few flea bits around the rim and blue ink residue inside. There is a small dent on the front of the barrel near the push button. The push button is in good working order. A previous owner etched the number "06" on the bottom.

This copy of The New York Almanac from 1890 is in near mint condition. The advertising almanac produced by Castoria is new old stock and has never been used or fully opened.

The cover has an amazing lithograph print of New York harbor at night under a full moon showing the newly erected Statue of Liberty (1886). The bottom left-hand corner of the almanac pamphlet refers to the lithograph as "New York Harbor by Moonlight showing Statue of Liberty," but does not reference the artist. The print is suitable for framing.

Produced to promote Pitcher's Castoria oil (later renamed Fletcher's Castoria) The New York Almanac contains a calendar for 1890, astronomical information including the rising and setting of the sun and moon, and phases of the moon phases.

The antique almanac is filled with illustrations of healthy babies and testimonials from proud parents about the wonders of Pitcher's Castoria oil. The almanac's back cover has a lithograph of a beauty, healthy young girl. This copy of The New York Almanac was given away "Compliments of Geo. W. Smith, Mattawamkeag, Me. dealers in Dry Goods, Groceries and Crockery, Drugs, Medicines and Paints, Hats and Caps, Boots and Shoes, Hardware, Tinware and Stoneware, House and Farm, Utensils, & c., &c." -- in simpler terms, a general store. The George W. Smith house in Mattawamkeag, Maine is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The almanac has its original blue cord for hanging in a convenient place for easy consultation.

Measures approximately 7 1/2 inches by 4 1/2 inches.

Beautiful antique glass buttons were made the old-fashion way, glass canes cut by hand, mold pressed, and furnace fired. Genuine antiques, these black glass buttons are small works of art.

Dating from the late Victorian era - early Edwardian era, the glass buttons have a faceted floral design and a metal shank on the back.

The button surfaces are in beautiful condition. Each button is a little gem. The metal shanks show a patina of age.

Lovely leather bound copy of the Maryknoll Missal, this Vatican II Edition of the classic Catholic prayer book would make lovely gift.

The vintage prayer book is in unread condition and comes with its original cardboard presentation box. The presentation box shows shelf wear with two split corners on the lid, rubbing and light soiling. The prayer book is in very good condition. Tight binding. The missal has four attached ribbon bookmarks which are a bit crumpled from being in the box for 50 years.

Sweet set of brass bells on a rope cord can be hung on door as chimes or anywhere else you'd like to strike a chord from time to time. The small brass bells have a lovely tone when rung together, and a softer sound when each is rung individually.

Made in India, each vintage brass bell has a different shape and etched design. The group of bells would make a nice addition to any bell collection.

The vintage bells are in good condition. One of the bells is missing its clapper (see photograph 3 second bell from the left), but it stills rings with a small pleasant tickling sound. The rope cord is functional if a bit frayed in accordance with the bell set's age.

Bells range in size from approximately 1 3/4 inches to 2 inches.

Made by Idealite, in Jersey City, N.J. back in the 1930s, this rare vintage globe light fixture features a steel transfer painted orb set in a cast metal meridian lamp. The vintage world globe has gold oceans, a time dial at the top, and spins freely in its full meridian frame.

The metal globe is unmarked, but was most likely made by J. Chein, the toy manufacturer, who produced globes for various lamp companies from the 1920s to the 1960s. The early 1930s globe shows British Somaliland, Italian Somaliland (dissolved in 1936 upon the formation of Italian East Africa), French West Africa, Belgian Congo, Rhodesia, Persia, and Chosen.

The vintage lamp has its original cloth electrical cord and light bulb socket. The light fixture works, but is not up to current electrical codes. It is suggested that the electrical wiring be upgraded to current standards before using the lamp as a light source.

Globe has a 6 inch diameter.
Light fixture is approximately 11 1/2 inches tall.
Marked Idealite Inc. Jersey City, N.J. on top of metal meridian.
Globe and metal base show age approximate wear including some paint loss, soiling, dings, and general wear.

Dating from the 1960s, this vintage hair style of the month poster would make a cool wall hanging in a hair salon, boutique, or anywhere you need a little retro flair.

Published in Chicago by Hair Style of the Month, this original poster was produced for display in hair and beauty salons across the United States. Printed on sturdy coated paper, the poster has an image on each side.

This poster was displayed in a Chicago hair salon and shows wear. One side of the double-sided poster is slightly faded from the sun. There is some wear around the edges and some tape residue at the top. A good framer would be able to straighten it out and make an amazing wall hanging.

Serve your Oreos or Chips Ahoy! on this awesome retro gray smoked glass plate. Emblazoned with a gold Nabisco logo, this thick glass dish is the perfect small serving platter for a tea-time snack. The plate is a fun piece of vintage advertising.

Nabisco, formally National Biscuit Company, has one of the most recognizable logos. Its first incarnation dates back to 1898. In the 1950s, the logo got a cleaner, more modern look in keeping with the atomic age. To me, it sort of looks like a mid-century television antenna.

This listing is for one plate. Two plates are available.

Plates are in good vintage with a few minor scratches on the back behind the logo.
