The weathervane is in good condition for its age showing age appropriate wear with some chipping to the paint and soiling. The wooden mounting block is very weathered and worn. You may prefer to remount the weathervane on a new wood base.

A.T.A. Standard Type Book published in 1951, also referred to as the A.T.A. Perpetual Type Book, was developed by the Advertising Typographers Association of America between 1925 & 1948. This set was printed by William Patrick Co., Inc in Newark, N.J.

Publishers, printers, lithographers & graphic artists used this reference to select type face from hundreds of type specimen sheets. The binders are filled with type specimens in their available points and weights.

The Forward in binder number 1 of this four volume set states "This set of A.T.A. Perpetual Type Book, comprised of three volumes, is No. 107 and is presented to Multi-Color Lithographers Newark, N.J." The fourth volume may have been added over time as the Standard Type Book was designed to be expandable as new type faces were developed and published.

This 4 volume set of type specimens is a typography gold mine for an artist or crafter.

Housed in very sturdy brown loose-leaf binders with gold stamped titles, the volumes are in good over-all condition. The binders were obviously used day to day and show wear. Some of the pages are soiled. Volume II has pink paint on the edges of the pages and binder (see photograph 3). The binders appear to be near full but there may be pages missing. There are about 50 additional type face pages that are separate from the volumes.

Each binders measure 11 3/4" x 10" x 1 3/4".

The wartime booklet advises women factory workers on sleeping, eating, dressing, and playing. The small pamphlet has charming illustrations by Mildred Wetmore.

This genuine World War 2 era booklet is a fascinating piece of labor history and women's history.

This 1960s portrait of a woman holding an umbrella was produced by Hair Style of Month, Chicago, as beauty salon decor. Artfully photographed, the honey and apricot colors enhance the model's light auburn hair.

This is an original poster. It was displayed in a Chicago hair salon and shows wear. The poster is doubled sided. One side of the poster is faded from sun exposure. Printed on heavy plastic coated paper, the poster has some chipping around the edges. The poster was stored rolled for many years in a protective sleeve. A good framer could transform this vintage poster into a cool retro wall hanging for a modern hair salon.

I have a collection of these amazing hair style posters. Several of them would look phenomenal grouped together for a retro hair salon decor display.

Vintage sci fi pulp fiction paperback has a cool space age cover graphic perfect for display in your office, workshop, or man cave.

Published in 1954, The Explorers is the first collection of science fiction stories written by C. M. Kornbluth. This is a good display copy of the sci fi classic showing typical aging for a pulp paper book.

This book is for display and not reading. The paper is tanned with age but not brittle. The front hinge is beginning to crack. The spine is not cracked, but it would crack if the book was fully opened. The cover is in good condition with some visible wear around the edges.

This vintage deck of Nintendo hanafuda cards comes in its factory-sealed paper wrapping and a wooden presentation box. This is a super rare Marufuku Sakura deck made by Nintendo.

The "Marufuku" label was only used between 1947 and 1951. What makes this hanafuda deck even more unique is that it has US playing card tax stamp dated June 1960. US Playing Card Tax Stamps were used until 1965. Playing card packages were stamped at the time of distribution not manufacture.

The paper wrapping is in excellent condition. The wooden presentation box is in very good condition. The box is stamped "Made in Japan" &"Black." The paper label on the box has paper loss on the bottom left-hand side. The tax stamp is torn.

Box measures 3 inches long by 2 inches wide by 1 13/16 inches deep. The packaged card deck measures 2 1/8 inches long by 1 3/8 inches wide by 1 5/8 inches deep.

Today, we know Nintendo as a giant in the electronic game industry, but the company has roots dating back to the late 19th century when Fusajiro Yamauchi started a small hand-made hanafuda playing card company in Kyoto.

Rare black leather bound copy of Malyj zborničok ili sobranije molitv i pisnej compiled by Aleksander Duchnovič, the nineteenth-century priest, poet, writer, and social activist.

This small prayer book has gold gilt decorations on the cover and spine, gold gilt edges, and a metal clasp. The religious book was printed in Czechoslovakia in the Czech language. It has beautiful endpapers and illustrations.

The prayer book is in good condition showing age appropriate wear. The leather on the spine has a small tear and some chipping. The base of the spine has a small tear on the front side. The metal clasp is in good working order. The pages are browned with age yet supple.

Scarce vintage globe from 1938, this Rand McNally Indexed Terrestrial Art Globe shows the world on the brink of World War II. Austria has been consumed by Germany (Anschluss, March 1938), Czechoslovakia does not exist, Slovenia (shown as "Slov") is marked Germany (annexation of Sudetenland, 1938), and Albania has been invaded by Italy (April 1939). Poland's borders stand. As Germany invaded Poland on September 1, 1939, this globe can be dated between 1938 and the summer of 1939.

This is a beautiful old globe with a deep and warm patina of age. The oceans are a very pale green with nautical distance indicators. There are eight masted ships shattered through the seven seas. The political boundary colors are muted shades of pink, green, and yellow.

The globe shows wear including general dust, soiling, spots, and areas of paper loss. Most of the Equator line is missing revealing the globe's center seam. The metal base and metal half meridian (marked with degrees) show wear including some scratches and paint loss.

Adorable and tiny vintage pin cushion, this carved and embroidered sewing accessory has two holes through which to draw a cord so that the pincushion could be tied around your wrist or neck for safe keeping while sewing. The pin cushion is so small, it could also be used in a dollhouse.

This charming miniature pin cushion appears to be carved out of some type of nut or plastic. It is covered with fabric that has been embroidered with a single tiny flower.

The pin cushion is in very good vintage condition with a few tiny chips at the edge of the rim carving. The piece appears to have been carved from a hard nut.

This is a 12 Inch Political Physical Globe by G.W. Bacon & Co. London & Weber Costello, Co. The globe's map gores were printed in England. The globe was made for school use, and is marked "Time Tested School Supplies." The globe has a full iron meridian and time dial at the top.

The globe is in good condition for a school globe that is well over 70-years old, but it does have issues. There are scuffs, soiling, dings, & areas paper loss, most notably in of the Eastern United States. The globes looks as if it might have been left uncovered in room that was being painted as there are what appear to be white paint drops on the globe (most notably on Morocco) as well as on the iron base. The iron base is rusty and the globe is secure, but a bit wobbly on the base. The base could easily be replaced. There are several areas where the plaster has been dented most notably in the Southern Hemisphere in the area of Argentina and in the area of the Himalaya Mountains.

The globe has a 12 inch diameter and stands approximately 18 1/2 inches tall including the meridian and 14 1/2 inches wide including the meridian.

Neely's Parliamentary Practice is a historically significant vintage law book outlining government and organizational procedures or rules of order. Starting with a detailed definition of a parliamentary body, the book gives succinct guidance on parliamentary assembly, procedure, questions, precedence, committees and commissions, meetings, laws, business, rights, duties, and powers. The book also includes a section on parliamentary practice in ecclesiastical organizations.

The contents of Bishop Thomas B. Neely's small book of parliamentary rules is important enough to warrant availably in digital e-book format. But why not own a physical copy of the original 1914 edition?

The slender volume is in very good condition for an 100-year-old book. The red clothbound cover has a lovely art nouveau floral decoration on the cover. The author's name and book title are gold leafed on the cover and spine. The corners show typical age-related wear around the edges. Several of the front pages look as if they had been paper clipped together at one point as you can see the clip imprint in the paper. Pages are clean. Binding is tight.

The book comes with a typed copy of a "Summary of Robert's Rule of Order" that I found tucked inside the volume.

The book would make a great gift for a lawyer or government official.

The Breviarium Romanum, or Breviary, contains the Latin liturgical rites of the Catholic Church including prayers, hymns, psalms, and readings for daily use. This beautiful antique leather-bound copy of the Breviarium Romanum, Pars Hiemalis was published in 1914 by the Benziger Brothers.

The Breviary, Pars Hiemalis, is the winter volume of the Catholic rites, covering Advent, Christmastide, and the Epiphany, with prayers and readings up to and including the Saturday before the First Sunday of Lent.

This is an antique book dating from 1914. It is in good condition but does show age-appropriate wear from the passage of time and use. The leather binding is worn around the edges with some tearing and loss at the top of the spine. The pages are tanned with age yet supple. There is some light soiling on a few pages. Otherwise, the pages are clean. It looks as through someone cleanly cut the last three pages from the back of the book, or they may never have been present as it does not appear that any text is missing. Included with the antique prayer book are five (5) double-side pages of additional prayers:
