The European Recovery Program (ERP) or Marshall Plan (1948 - 1951), conceived by George C. Marshall, Army Chief of Staff during WW II & Truman's Secretary of State, sought to politically stabilize & rebuild the economies of war-torn European countries while hindering the spread of Communism.

Held in 1950, the Intra-European Cooperation for a Better Standard of Living poster contest, drew over 10,000 entries. A panel of graphic artists from the countries benefiting from the Marshall Plan selected 25 winning posters. The posters are graphically stunning pieces of political propaganda and historically interesting bits of ephemera from the early Cold War era.

This poster is an original poster, not a reproduction. The poster is in excellent vintage condition with just some minor wear around the edges. The poster has been stored flat.

Beautiful example of California pottery made by Wade of California in the 1960s. The fabulous modern spiral shape is predominantly avocado green with swirls of mint green.

Originally intended as an ashtray, the dish can be used to serve tidbits or candies. Imagine it filled with orange goldfish crackers!

The bowl is in very good vintage condition. No cracks. No chips.

Wade Ceramics produced pottery in North Hollywood between 1965 and 1967. This piece is marked "Wade of Calif. U.S.A." along with the number "700."

Dish measures approximately 91/2" x 7 1/2" at its widest points and stands 1 1/2" high.

An amazing document of a vanished time, this circa 1900s souvenir photography album of Köhn and the Rhein shows the city and surrounding area untouched by modernization and the devastation of World War II.

The streets scenes capture city life, showing the marketplace, monuments, gardens, shops, and churches. The large-format photography book also has a beautiful fold-out panorama photograph of the city. The hardcover red cloth binding has a beautiful gold gilt Art Nouveau floral motif with the shields of the city and the Dom. The book has lovely an Art Nouveau design endpaper.

This is an antique book published circa 1904. The book is in very good condition showing wear at the top and bottom of the spine and along the cover edges, particularly the lower edge. Previous owner wrote the names of family members along with dates:

This unique mid-century inflatable globe is a super rare find. Made by the Ideal Toy Corp., the inflatable world globe was produced for the toy & school market. The vintage globe has a cool black wire mid-century modern mount.

The globe is in exceptional condition for a plastic inflatable item from the 1950s. The globe spins freely in its stand. Other than some light wear and a bit of rust, the black wire stand is in very good condition.

This antique Bible verse sign is a rare find. The pressed cardboard sign is embossed with a Bible quote, and has a religious print depicting Jesus comforting a follower. The print is surrounded by beautiful embossed and hand-colored lily of the valley flowers. Dating from approximately the 1920s, the sign has a burgundy flocked finished on the front and its original cord at the top for easy hanging on a wall.

The antique sign is in good condition. There is some wear and rubbing to the flocking, wear around the edges, and light staining on the reverse side. Sign is marked "Made in U.S.A. No 5390."

The antique religious plaque measures 13 inches by 6 1/2 inches.

Beautiful vintage fabric samples manufactured in the U.S.A. by Seneca Textile have an amazing red & green silkscreen print depicting a Mexican village.


From the estate sale of woman who did a lot of sewing back in the late 1950s to early 1970s, this wonderful fabric is in very good vintage condition. One sample has its original Seneca Fabrics label. Someone pulled off the label on the other sample leaving behind glue residue.

I found these vintage cocktail party invitations irresistible when I found then at the estate sale of a graphic designer.

Sporting a red rooster weathervane design, these classic 1960s party invitations will set the right tone for a retro-inspired cocktail party. The invitations come in their original box which also has the red rooster art work on the lid.

These are vintage invitations from the 1960s. Although they have not been used, the paper shows signs of aging. One of the twelve invitations is darkly tanned with age. The remainder of the invitations show some light tanning mostly at the crease. The cards are blank inside. The twelve envelopes also show some light tanning.

The invitation box is in good condition. The box lid is tanned with age.

Published in 1887, the Italy travel guide Rambles in Rome has a decorative green cover and detailed information on walks through the ancient city. Much has changed in Rome since 1887, and yet much has remained the same. This charming antique book can help you compare and contrast the 19th century city with that of the 21st century.

The antique book is filled with illustrations and maps as well as an interesting "guide to useful information" which includes a list of American, English, "Native", and "Foreign" artists living in the city at that time along with their addresses, a chart of carriage tariffs, practical information on galleries, museums, and villas, hotels, public libraries, and omnibus routes. There are also several pages at the back of the book advertising other titles by S. Russell Forbes.

The book is in good condition for its age with obvious signs of wear and evidence of the passage of time including bumped corners, a scratch on the cover, fraying of the cloth binding at the edges. Pages are lightly tanned.

Rare find for the collector of Annie Benson Muller's baby art, this vintage advertising fan shows the artist's Madonna and Child. The triptych cardboard fan advertises Sister's Flower Shop in Jersey City, N.J. on the reverse side. The print is marked "Annie Benson Muller."

The vintage fan would make a lovely mother's day gift.

The advertising fan is marked by the printer "U.O. Coulson, Co., Paris, Ill. U.S.A." on the reverse. There are two patent numbers 1655229 & 2435446 dating the folding fan to 1940s.

The hand fan is in good condition showing typical wear around the edge and slight creasing at the top rivet.

Pysanky, an incredibly intricate and beautiful Ukrainian folk art, requires patience and a steady hand. This vintage pysanky Easter egg was made many years ago by woman who obviously mastered the art.

I bought a basket full of these amazing hand painted eggs at an estate sale. They are delicate and beautiful creations. This one has a green, red, & purple geometric design with what looks to be a black snowflake motif.

This is a vintage egg -- a real chicken egg. The insides of the egg were blown out before the shell was prepared transform it into a pysanky. The egg is in good condition.

The young women's faces in this 1929 New Jersey College for Women at Rutgers University, New Brunswick yearbook radiate beauty and intelligence.

Quair, which means book in Scottish. The yearbook has an Arts & Craft Movement style with a textured cover resembling a wooden door with decorative metal hinges and pine tree embellishment. The college yearbook is filled with whimsical illustrations and beautiful photographs documenting the class of 1929.

The large-format book is very heavy and shows wear and tear from handling and the passage of time. The top and base of the spine are fraying and there is wear along the length of the spine. The pages are lightly tanned with age.

The yearbook belonged to Ruth Slavitt class of 1931 who signed her name and wrote the year "1928" on the front right-hand side endpaper.

A vintage tartan fabric covered edition of G.F. Maine's A Book of Scotland would make a great gift for the Scottish enthusiast.

This older edition of the classic collection of Scottish history, poems, and tales, has a red, green, & blue plaid fabric cover. There is a stamp on the back endpaper indicating that the cover is MacDuff tartan. The vintage book has a gift inscription to the previous owner on the front endpaper, "From Jenny Tennant 1950 to Ina Murray Campbell." The volume has a color print of the poet Robert Burns facing the title page.

The book is clean and in good condition. The cover shows a bit of wear at the top and base of the spine and at the cover corners. Endpapers are lightly tanned. There are a few pencil notations on the table of contents and a few more notations throughout the books.

Blast off with Colonel Bleep!

This is no ordinary atomic age space travel guide advertising premium from the late 1950s, this is a rare bit of Colonel Bleep! ephemera.

Colonel Bleep was the first color cartoon made for television. Created by Robert D. Buchanan and illustrated by Joe Barbera, Colonel Bleep! aired as part of Uncle Bill's TV Club from 1957 to 1960.

Made of two pieces of cardboard, the vintage space age toy has an internal spinning wheel that rotates and reveals information on the planets in our solar system. The advertising premium has fabulous atomic era graphics including rocket ships, sputnik, outer space, as well as a graphic showing the relative size and diameter of space bodies compared to the earth.

The advertising toy was a premium for Table Queen Bread, a sponsor of Colonel Bleep! on WBRE-TV Channel 28 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The space travel guide is in good condition for its age showing typical age and use related wear. The cardboard is tanned with age with light soiling. The corners are not sharp. The most notable wear is on the "Table Queen Bread" side of the piece on the bottom right-hand corner where the guide was most likely held when in use. There is light pencil shading on Mars.

The space travel guide is marked "SA-132 Corp 1958 Specialty Advertising Service Inc. N.Y."

Set of two vintage glasses with etched quails would make a fun addition to a bird motif glassware collection. The low ball glass tumblers are very heavy and are marked "France" on the bottom.
