One-of-kind vintage folk art nautical diorama, this tall clipper ship sails in blue green seas with a rising moon over the waves in the distance.


The shadowbox looks to have been constructed from heavy-duty canvas-backed board and has a blue cloth backing. It's wood frame shows wear, having some scruffs and dings. The piece is signed with a type-written label "Hand Made by Edwin Thoms."

The shadow box is in very good condition and has a nice patina of age. It's hanging rope has broken but can easily be replaced.

The prior owner told me the shadowbox was made by her uncle sometime in the early 20th century.


Condition: Wood frame is scuffed in places and has several dings. Hanging rope is broken. Ship is in very good condition. Painted backdrop is in very good condition.

Dimensions: 9 1/2" wide x 7 1/4" tall x 3" deep.

My jaw dropped when I came across a stash of new old stock vintage Esterbrook Penesco No 509 Medium stub italic calligraphy dip point pen nibs at a recent estate sale. Made in Camden, New Jersey, there are 144 (a gross) steel pen nibs in each box.

Each box offered in this listing is in excellent unused vintage condition and has never been opened. Some of the box seals are intact, some of them are broken.

This listing is for one box of vintage Esterbrook Penesco No 509 Medium Stub nibs. The slide-open box design and the Penesco tag dates the manufacturing of these nibs to the 1940s.

Classic 1950s Jamaican tourist souvenir doll in gorgeous island costume with yellow and red floral top and flowing cotton skirt depicting limbo dancing, drumming, musicians with maracas and guitars, islander on donkey, women bearing fruit and baskets, and hibiscus flowers--did they leave anything out? She wears a straw hat with "Jamaica" printed in black letters and flowers in her hair.

The hard molded plastic body dates her to the 1950s to early 1960s. There are a few rough spots on the plastic near her wrists which could indicate that she was once attached to a backing or incased in a plastic container. There is dried glue from the manufacturing process near her hairline which is not as noticeable as it appears in the fourth photograph.

In good vintage condition. Her dress is slightly yellowed in a small area. Her clothes are tacked on. She has amber "sleepy" doll eyes that open and close.

Do you know what this is? It's a Hazel Atlas glass Depression era 16 oz 2 cup beater jar circa 1920s. At one time it was most likely paired with an A & J egg beater that got lost along the way. Hazel Atlas patented the jar design in 1923.

You don't need the beater to make this bowl a functional tool in your kitchen. Use it to measure flour when you bake, to mix scrambled eggs, or store berries in the refrigerator. The bowl has graduated measures for cups, pints, and ounces. It's stamped on the bottom with the Hazel Atlas mark and shows surprisingly minor wear for an approximately 85-year-old bowl. There are a few small nicks around the rim. Nothing major, nothing sharp.

This circa 1970s vintage handmade granny square afghan in vibrant red and creamy white is in excellent condition. By the feel of it, I'd say it was hand crocheted from a wool acrylic blend yarn. The classic color combination will brighten any room. The throw is the perfect size for a lap or baby blanket.


Handmade vintage textiles remind me of the continuity between generations. Forty years or so ago, someone took the time to make a blanket for her family. She most likely learned the stitch she used to make the afghan from her mother or grandmother, who learned the stitch from her mother, and on it goes back into history. Crochet is an ancient art and this afghan is a fine 1970s example of that art.

This is an incredibly cute vintage miniature couple figurine set. I was told that they depict a Russian couple.

The couple is very sweet. He wears a gray suit and cap. One hand is in his pocket and the other one is holding a cigarette. She is showing off her ample cleavage in a low-cute red dress with white polka dots. She has her hands on her hips and is wearing a white kerchief or babushka as well as a black shawl which has a lovely yellow flower design on the back. They both have wide black eyes.

The figures appear to have been modeled from clay or some type of composite material. They are in good condition. He has a chip in his hat and on his shoe.

They are approximately 2" tall x 3/4" wide.

Exquisite Japanese woodblock print depicts a calm winter scene with temple gate, temples, falling snow, evergreens and an adult with child strolling by. The child is wearing a red shirt and your eye is immediately drawn to it. The temples are outlined in red and gold. I found this charming print in an old box of correspondence dating from the late 1940s through the 1950s.

The paper stock is folded in half as if the owner meant to use it as a note card. The ink impression shows through on the reverse side. Suitable for framing either folded in half or fully opened, this lovely art work is in very good vintage condition. The paper is beginning to tear at the creases.

There is what looks to be a signature and a chop stamp on the lower left-hand side of the woodblock.

This is the sweetest miniature white goose. Super tiny and as adorable, this vintage ceramic figure is a mere 1 3/8" long and just shy of an inch tall. He is in a swimming pose with his eyes shut and head held high.

Not sure where he was made, but he was part of a figurine grouping mostly from 1950s - 1960s Japan.

Condition: In very good vintage condition, the figure has no cracks, chips or crazing. It does have what appears to be glue markings on the bottom, perhaps from a removed tag. Please see photograph 4.

Lovely high-quality vintage Echo scarf with a bold orange, purple & white geometric design, this 1960s retro fashion accessory is sure to punch up any outfit.

This is a fabulous vintage circa 1930s Bell-Ans for Indigestion amber medicine bottle in original packaging with vest pocket travel tin and contents intact. Cool vintage product copy on box with dosage instructions, usage information and ingredients. This is an amazing find!

Box is in descent shape, the interior lid fold-overs have broken off (they are in the box), and there is wear around the top, but otherwise in great condition. The tiny travel vest pocket tin shows very little wear for its age and has tablets in it. Paper label on bottle is in excellent condition. Amber bottle is embossed on sides with "Bell-Ans."

The packaging copy is so much fun to read, and I've tried to show as much as possible in the photographs.

Formulated in 1897, the Bells Company Inc. of Orangeburg, New York were the manufacturing chemists. The Bell-Ans name was adopted on January 1, 1914.
