This vintage dish is a lovely example of mid-century modern copper enamel work. The colorful swirl ed abstract design on the enamel plate provides a pleasing contrast against the brown background.

The bottom of the bowl is finished in a shades of green and blue, and has an artist incised signature.

Genuine vintage copper enamel plate circa 1960 shows typical wear for a used decorative item. The surface of the enamel has some light scratches. There is a faint ring inside the bowl that looks like a watermark.

Nifty classic 1930s vintage glass door knob set made by Corbin in the U.S.A. comes in its original box along with nine screws.

The box was stored for many years, and shows wear including tears and soiling. The crystal door knobs are in good condition. The brass shows signs of age. The spindle piece connecting the two glass knobs has light rust.

Glass knobs have an approximate 2 inch diameter.

First published in 1909, Games for Playground, Home, School, and Gymnasium written by Jessie H. Bancroft, Assistant Director of Physical Training in The New York Public Schools, gives an interesting insight into the era before electronic games and the Internet when children spent time out doors playing a wide variety of games.

The volume has a beautiful decorative cover suitable for display in a child's room or as nursery decor.

The book is in very good condition. It comes with its original paper dust jacket which although torn at the top, has protected the decorative cover and binding. The binding is tight and the pages are clean. The front right-hand side endpaper has an ink stamped name of a previous owner, "Wm. L Buchner."

Included with the book are two typed sheet of bible study questions and ten small hand-written slips of paper with biblical names on them.

The book covers games for each age and grade level, brief historical information, how to select teams and who is "it," singing games, ball games, active games, quiet games, camp games, and more. The book is filled with line drawing illustrations and diagrams as well as photographs.

High-quality carpenter pencils in a beautiful shade of blue, these vintage industrial advertising giveaways from Georgia-Pacific make a cool instant collection.

Primary known as a pulp and paper company, Georgia-Pacific started out in 1927 as a lumber company.

Listing is for a set of five (5) pencils. Multiple sets are available.

Found in an overlooked corner at an estate sale, I couldn't resist the sight of the vintage blue pencils in a bright yellow box. Pencils are circa late 1960s early 1970s and are in excellent unused condition.

A stunning red head in a purple turtleneck sweater stares confidently from this cool vintage poster.

Published in Chicago by Hair Style of the Month, this original poster was produced for display in hair and beauty salons across the United States. The poster is printed on sturdy coated paper and has an image on both sides.

This poster was displayed in a Chicago hair salon and shows wear. One side of the double-sided poster is slightly faded from the sun. The poster has some wear on the edges, light soiling, and tape residue where it was affixed to a display. There is a mark on one side of the poster near the model's brow (see photographs 4 & 5). The poster was stored rolled up for many years. A good picture framer could transfer this vintage poster art into an amazing walling hanging for your home or business.


Measurements: 20" x 16".

This vintage sterling silver pin is a classic modernist jewelry design from the famed Frank & Regine Juhls Jautokeino, Norway studio.

Dating from the 1970s, the sterling silver brooch has a modern circle design and is back stamped "Juhls" and "925S."

This is a genuine vintage sterling silver pin dating from the 1970s. It shows wear consistent with age and has a lovely patina. I have not polished the sterling, but you could do so with a gentle silver jewelry cleaner for a brighter shine.

Planet flash cards from Rand McNally are super cool. These vintage school flash cards have a beautiful image of the solar system on one side with an indicating arrow to "Name This Planet," and information, circa 1960, about the planet in question on the back.

The set includes nine (9) cards, one for each planet in the Earth's solar system. The cards were once part of a Rand McNally's Know Your Stars and Planets flash card game. I will be listing other sets of flash cards from this game in my shop.

The bold solar system graphics make these flash cards ideal for displaying in an office, school, or repurposing in arts & crafts projects.

These are genuine vintage flash card from the 1960s not reproductions. They were used in a school. Cards are in good condition, but expect typical wear.

It's a toss up what's cooler, the Kenner Dolly Dressmaker doll clothes pattern sewing kit or the funky "Genuine Amen-ized Pak" from Amen "the last word in value!" which billed itself as "the world's largest merchandizer of self-service products."

Although the Amen-ized Pak seal was broken when I found this treasure, the packaging provided enough protection through the years to keep the Dolly Dressmaker pre-cut sewing pattern in fabulous condition. The kit includes pre-cut fabric, buttons and illustrated sewing instructions.

Set of three (3) Coors ceramic chemistry spoon spatulas, these vintage laboratory porcelain tools can be used as intended or as science decor accents.

The three spoon spatulas date from the 1950s and are marked Coors U.S.A. Two of them are marked with a number 2 and one of them is marked number 3. Each spoon spatula has an additional mark, F-6, E-7, and F-19.

Two of the tools are 5 1/2" inches long.
One of the tools is 6 1/2" inches long.

These tools were used in a laboratory and show typical wear. The shorter tools each have a chip on the spatula. The pottery glaze has worn off (or perhaps never covered) the area just below the spatula.

Written from the perspective of John F. Kennedy's daughter Caroline, this bit of early 1960s political satire manages to be both charming and ruthlessly recriminating. I love that a child obviously got her, or maybe his, hands on the coloring book and used a few pages as intended.

The JFK Coloring Book was conceived by Alexander A. Roman and the comedian Jackie Kannon, illustrated by Mort Drucker, and inspired by Richard Nixon. In 1962, the coloring book spent 14 weeks on The New York Time Best Seller List. All copies of the humorous political book were pulled from the shelves after Kennedy's assassination.

Within its pages you'll find all the members of the First Family along with Jackie's sister Lee Radziwill, the Hollywood Rat Pack, Jimmy Hoffa (being sent to the moon -- "See this nice man, Say goodbye to him. Goodbye nice man! He is going away. He is going on a nice long trip...," Bobby Kennedy, Nikita Khrushchev, and others from the Kennedy circle.

The large-format coloring book is in good condition but it has been colored in. Seven of twenty-two pages have been colored by a child in bright crayon colors. The cover is in good condition showing some wear at the edges.

Ornate silver plate sugar & creamer set will add a fancy touch to any occasion. The creamer is an ample size and the sugar bowl has a lid with a decorative finial.

The silver sugar creamer serving set dates from the 1940s. Each piece bears the Birmingham Silver hallmark on the bottom as well as a "Silver on Copper" mark.

The creamer & sugar bowl are in good condition and have a lovely patina. I have not polished them. Should you choose, you may polish them up to a high shine.

On April 7, 1942 little Daniel Shine ate vegetable soup for the first time. On June 18th he tasted daddy's cigar. On October 21st he dusted all the furniture. This memory book is filled with handwritten phrases and sentences documenting the life of a two-year old boy during 1942.

Entitled "My Calendar of Memory for 1942" & produced by Rust Craft Cards, this diary was given to customers of Morris Silver Stationery & Greeting Cards located in Jersey City, N.J. Daniel's mom managed to write an entry in this small date book on almost every day of the year turning it into an amazing child development record.

The calendar booklet is in good condition for its age. The stapled binding is intact. The paper cover is split on top down to the first staple. Pages are in very good condition.

Booklet measures 7" x 4".

The Model Speller, a vintage children's school book, has an amazing decorative cover. The wonderful scenes of children playing at the beach, building a snowman, and fishing, stand out in red against the blue cloth binding.

This 1930s spelling textbook is in good condition for a used schoolbook. The pages are yellowed, and some have rips and tears. There is some soiling. The book is marked "Property of St. Mary's Grammar School, Rutherford, N.J.," and has several students's names written on the front end paper.

Vintage Ketcham McDougall Pat Products retractable keychain pin is a nifty old-fashion purse accessory. The key chain device has a pin back which securely attachs to the inside of your purse. You put your keys on the chain holder, & voila, it's always easy to find your keys.

Rare antique wooden spooled thread from The Gardiner Hall Jr. Co Willington Mills in Connecticut, this complete & unused box has 12 spools of black cotton thread.

Each wood spool has 80 yards of thread and is marked "G. Hall Jr. Co. U.S. A. Willington, Conn." on one side and, "Willington Mills 8 80 yds" on the other side. The thread and box are in very good condition. The box has some light soiling, marks on the sides, and general shelf wear.

Willington Mills was the first cotton thread manufacturer in the United States. The Connecticut company began production in 1830. The mill was taken over by Gardiner Hall, Jr. Co in 1860. The enterprising Hall family created a thriving community in South Millington, to go along with their thriving business. According to Wade's Fibre & Fabric Vol. XL of 1890, the Hall's established "The neatest little village" for their employees.

The Willington Mills building still stands, and is now referred to as "The Mill." It has been converted into a thriving artisan and business community.

Box measures 7 1/2" by 3 1/4" by 1 1/2." Each spool measures 1 1/2" with 1 1/8" diameter.

Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket...

or, as H.H. Nininger did, find a fallen star. Many of them!

Back in the 1930s & 1940s, H.H. Nininger amassed a large collection of meteorites, which are meteoroids (the scientific name for falling or shooting stars) that eventually fall to earth. His collection, the largest personal one at the time, was so vast, he created and maintained a museum for them.

Known as the father of modern meteoritics, Nininger operated The American Meteorite Museum first in Meteor Crater, Arizona, and then in Sedona. The collection was ultimately sold to the British Museum and the Arizona State University Center for Meteorite Studies.

Out of The Sky is Nininger's introduction to the science of meteoritics. This is a rare signed first edition copy of this important science book. The book is inscribed to Paul Weber and dated April 21, 1957 from Sedona, Arizona.

The book is in overall good condition showing typical wear particularly around the cover and page edges. The tops of some pages are a bit crumpled. The pages are beginning to brown with age (light foxing), again mostly around the edges, but the paper is not crumbling. There are brown age-related spots on the endpapers. The dust jacket shows wear, including rubbing and tears, as well as extensive chipping and paper loss around the edges.

Antique edition of Murray's Handbook for Travellers in Central Italy comes with its original map of the region stored in the book's back endpaper sleeve.

This rare book is in good condition for its age. It was used as a guidebook and shows age & use appropriate wear. The cloth cover is rippling over the flexible book boards and shows soiling. The front endpaper is torn along the front hinge exposing the hinge webbing (see photograph four). The binding is tight. There are a few light pencil notations as well as a name and a few notes in ink on the front endpaper. The volume's original map of Central Italy is in very good condition having no tears. The map shows Italy in a state of transition from individual nation states into a unified country. The provinces of Tuscany, Umbria, and Abruzzo are clearly marked, present day Emilia-Romagna and Marche are marked "States of the Ch," or in other words, Papal States.

The volume has several fold-out maps:

The book also has an advertising section at the back with interesting travel information including ads for trains, steamboats, and hotels.
