Along with New York City walks in this vintage guide book, you'll will find amazing maps, descriptions, and rambling notes for walking and hiking trails covering much of the New York Metropolitan area, including Westchester County, Putnam, the Hudson Highlands, Northern New Jersey, the Wawayanda Plateau, Nassau and Suffolk County, and the New Jersey South of the Raritan.
Published in 1923 by the American Geographical Society, many of the routes and landscape descriptions no longer exist, having been built over and developed over the last century.
Packed with illustrations as well as historical and geographical information, this vintage book will take you back to a time before the dense development of the New York Metropolitan area.
The vintage volume includes eight maps, several of which fold out and are suitable for
framing.
This is a vintage book published back in 1923. It has a previous owner's name (Dorothy W. Brace) and the date (1923) written in ink in the front of the volume. The front hinge is beginning to split but the binding is tight. The cloth cover shows wear. Paper is tanned with age. Maps are in very good condition.
