Large chalkware parrot statue makes a big statement without uttering a word. Beautifully sculptured from chalkware plaster, the parrot has wonderful detailing, and would make an amazing decor accent in a tropical themed room or sun porch.

The parrot is heavy, and measures approximately 17 1/4 inches long and 5 inches across at its widest point. The bird statue has a long indentation along the bottom of the perch as well as a hole as if it was made to fit into a stand. The parrot is old and shows the passage of time. It has some nicks and dings and some spots of paint loss.

A Northern Christmas by Rockwell Kent chronicles his stay on a remote Alaskan island during the winter of 1918 with his son in a one-room cabin.


The charming Christmas story is beautifully illustrated with Rockwell Kent's artwork. The vintage volume would make a great gift for the Christmas lover.

This is a genuine first edition of this book not a recent reproduction. As such, the book shows wear from the reading enjoyment of its previous owner, and evidence of the passage of time. The cover is worn at the edges and there is some soiling and brown age spots on the front. The endpapers and pages are tanned. The previous owner, Susan Wagner, wrote her name in pencil on the front right-hand side endpaper. There is a notation in pencil on the title page.

Cool assortment of vintage wood-handled natural-bristle paint brushes make a great display. Use them as decor in your craft room or art studio, or as a photo prop.

The lot includes eight (8) paint brushes. Six of these high-quality paintbrushes (including the large pure bristle Grumbacher, Red Sable Round, El Greco, & White Bristle Flat) may also be used as intended if you wish, as their bristles are still supple. Two of the brushes have harden bristles.

Paint brushes all have wood handles with metal plates holding the bristles in place. The brushes have a nice paint-splashed patina. These are vintage brushes and show wear.

Largest brush, the Grumbacher, measures just over 13 inches long.
Smallest brush, No. Red Sable Round Japan, measures approximately 9 1/2 inches long.

Beautiful green on green rayon cotton blend gimp trim will lend the perfect touch to your vintage - inspired sewing projects. The sewing trim has a braided looped edge & is suitable for draperies, pillows & lampshades. Would look great on display in a sewing or art & crafts room.

The trim is on its original spool which is marked "Rayon Cotton." The color is marked "Gooseberry." According to the label there are 36 yards on the spool. The spool is almost full. I measured a generous 32 yards of trim.

Trim is approximately 3/4" wide and it is in very good condition.

Use this high-quality vintage blue red & yellow plaid fabric in your next sewing project.

This wonderful tartan comes with a curious label from "Oz Maren Wizardry of Oz." I couldn't find any information about this textile company, but the tag indicates their business address was 180 Madison Avenue in New York City. Maren is the last name of one of the Wizard of Oz Lollipop Guild Munchkins from the 1939 film. Could there possibly be a link?

From the estate sale of woman who did a lot of sewing back in the late 1950s to early 1970s, this wonderful fabric is in "as new" vintage condition.

Fabric is over 10' (feet) long. It is 57" wide.

This Chase Hand Painted Japan ceramic angel figurine was originally part of a larger set of choir cherubs. The angel is robed in white and has a 1940s hairstyle. The angel holds a scroll of music.

Made in the late 1940s - early 1950s, this angel is a classic mid-century Christmas decoration produced in Japan for the American market.

The angel statue is in good vintage condition showing typical wear including some paint loss. She has her original Chase Hand Painted label and is marked "Japan" in red.

Measurements: Approximately 5" tall x 2" wide x 1 1/2" deep.

Miniature wood rocking chair handmade by A. Nadeau can be used in a large-scale dollhouse or displayed with other pieces of miniature furniture. The wooden rocking chair has its original "A. Nadeau Fait Au Quebec" label under the chair seat.

This vintage wood chair dates from the 1970s and shows some wear. There is a chip on the chair's wooden headboard and an tiny chip on the back base, but overall this the chair is in very good vintage condition.

Rocking chair measures approximately 5 1/2 tall x 2 1/4 inches wide x 3 3/4 inches deep.

Found in a basement antique shop in the old section of Shanghai, these adorable vintage pig baby shoes are hand made from cloth with beautiful embroidered accents. The pig is a classic Chinese motif symbolizing prosperity, wealth, & abundance.

These charming shoes would be best used as a decor element in a nursery or Asian influenced display.

The shoes are very small measuring approximately 4 1/8 inches from heel to toe. Dating from the early 20th century, the shoes are in good vintage condition showing expected wear mostly on the inside and around the opening particularly at the back of the heel.

Vintage 1969 Replogle moon globe would make a unique gift for just about anyone on your holiday gift list.

The metal lunar globe has a 6 inch diameter, shows great surface details including craters and seas, the landing sites of unmanned moon landings, as well as the first manned Apollo 11 landing on July 20, 1969.

The small moon globe is in good condition having no rust and just two very small dents. The plastic cradle stand has a small missing piece (see photograph 3).

This is a rare first edition copy of Making Corn Pay by S.M. Jordan part of The Practical Farm Library published in 1913 by The Phelps Publishing Company not a modern reprint.

The illustrated small soft-cover book gives an interesting insight into the development of corn production and farm practices. The beautiful cover graphic is worthy of display in your library.

The book was not printed on the highest quality paper and shows signs of use and the passage of time. The paper is tanned, the edges are worn with some small tears. There is evidence of some water staining around the edges. The sewn binding is tight. Over all, this is a good copy of a very rare title.

Don't think I could have explained the contents of this work as well as the title pages of this two-volume antique leather bound edition of this historically significant military and civil study of the late 1700s and early 1800s Europe and United States.

Thoroughly readable, these fully-illustrated antique history books would also look fabulous as props or in your home or office library.

The books are in the general condition you would expect from leather-bound volumes from the mid-1800s. The leather is worn at the edges, with some scuffs and scrapes, the corners are bumped. There is foxing on the pages throughout the books. Volume II has staining on the cover and on the lower right-hand side through approximately the first third of the book and then again on pages towards the back of the book. Heavily illustrated, each engraving is protected with a tissue-sheet cover. There are portrait engravings of many of the major military & political figures of the time including Napoleon Bonaparte, his wife, Josephine, group portraits of British Admirals, Alexander I, to mention just a few. Each volume has hand-marbled endpapers and marbled edges. Bindings are tight. Previous owner signed his name twice in pencil in the front of volume two.

The set was published in Philadelphia in 1849 by Thomas Davis. Volume I has 602 pages. Volume II has 599 pages.

Adorable vintage copper vase in the shape of an ancient amphora, use this tiny vessel to display some pretty little posies. My imagination sees the miniature vase filled with violets.

Not exactly sure of the dating or provence of this small amphora. Bought at an estate sale, the story was that it was a tourist souvenir brought home sometime in the 1960s from Italy or Greece.

The tiny vase is in good condition. The copper has a nice patina. There is a small spot of verdigris near one of the handles.

Measurements: 1 1/2" tall x 2 3/4' wide including handles.

This copy of The New York Almanac from 1890 is in near mint condition. The advertising almanac produced by Castoria is new old stock and has never been used or fully opened.

The cover has an amazing lithograph print of New York harbor at night under a full moon showing the newly erected Statue of Liberty (1886). The bottom left-hand corner of the almanac pamphlet refers to the lithograph as "New York Harbor by Moonlight showing Statue of Liberty," but does not reference the artist. The print is suitable for framing.

Produced to promote Pitcher's Castoria oil (later renamed Fletcher's Castoria) The New York Almanac contains a calendar for 1890, astronomical information including the rising and setting of the sun and moon, and phases of the moon phases.

The antique almanac is filled with illustrations of healthy babies and testimonials from proud parents about the wonders of Pitcher's Castoria oil. The almanac's back cover has a lithograph of a beauty, healthy young girl. This copy of The New York Almanac was given away "Compliments of Geo. W. Smith, Mattawamkeag, Me. dealers in Dry Goods, Groceries and Crockery, Drugs, Medicines and Paints, Hats and Caps, Boots and Shoes, Hardware, Tinware and Stoneware, House and Farm, Utensils, & c., &c." -- in simpler terms, a general store. The George W. Smith house in Mattawamkeag, Maine is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The almanac has its original blue cord for hanging in a convenient place for easy consultation.

Measures approximately 7 1/2 inches by 4 1/2 inches.

Beautiful antique glass buttons were made the old-fashion way, glass canes cut by hand, mold pressed, and furnace fired. Genuine antiques, these black glass buttons are small works of art.

Dating from the late Victorian era - early Edwardian era, the glass buttons have a faceted floral design and a metal shank on the back.

The button surfaces are in beautiful condition. Each button is a little gem. The metal shanks show a patina of age.

Buttons have approximately 1/2 diameter.

Antique metal storage box with lots of character has a primitive, handmade appearance that would fit into a rustic setting or industrial decor. The old steel box has a few dents, nicks, rust, dust, chipping paint. The interior is divided into three compartments.

Found at an estate sale at one of the oldest houses in Newark, N.J., the antique box brings with it the dust of time and use. The box has been given a light dusting, but not a deep cleaning.
