Telling the tale from an American "white man's" point of view, Indian Horrors by Henry Davenport Northrop published circa 1890 is an astonishing & sensationalized account of the displacement and destruction of the Native American way of life. Filled with remarkable engraved illustrations, the volume also has duotone portraits of American Indian chiefs including Sitting Bull, Standing Bear, Red Cloud and White Eagle.
The book's subtitle captures the tone of the narrative and illustrations found throughout the work.
