In the first half of the 20th Century, a tie bar was part of every well-dressed man's wardrobe. This unique example bears a shield, cross and lantern emblem most likely from a fraternal order or religious group.

The gold tone shows wear and has rubbed off in some places, but other wise the piece is in good condition. Tie bar style dates this piece to the 1930s or early 1940s.

Vintage photography studio wedding party portrait provides wonderful insight into 1920s fashion and style. Big beautiful rose bouquets for the attendants, fabulous calla lily flowers for the bride, and lovely lace gowns, clues that this must have been a very upscale celebration.

The portrait is mounted in a gray heavy card-stock presentation folder with amazing silver-leaf border detail. The folder is marked "Adamoff, 74 Market St, Passaic, N.J." Top left-hand corner of the folder is bumped, but otherwise the cover and photograph are in amazing condition for their age.

Heart-shaped pressed cardboard pin with a kissing couple dressed in traditional German Bavarian costume, this tinnie was most likely given away at a local event or festival somewhere in Germany sometime prior to World War II.

I wasn't sure what this was when I found it at an estate sale, but I thought the kissing couple was so charming. After much research, I found information on a German solidarity propaganda pin from 1935 with a similar cardboard composition. The article referred to the pin as a "tinnie." Tinnies, which were usually made of metal, were popular in pre-World War II Germany and frequently distributed at public events, festival, and political rallies.

The cardboard has one ding in it on the right side by the gentleman's ankle, but over all, the tinnie is in remarkably good condition. The silky floral-patterned ribbon which connects to an old-fashioned safety pin, is bright and vibrant. There is also a short length of tartan ribbon tied in a bow at the base of the cardboard heart.

This vintage 1960s Town & Country Shoes handbag in a bright silk dupioni plaid is the perfect purse for summer events. Large enough to hold all your essentials, the handbag has an inner pocket with a small hand mirror.

Vintage model boat shadow box, this handmade 3-dimensional nautical diorama is a true piece of folk art. Encased in its shadowbox, the linen masted clipper ship sails in a calm sea with a backdrop of puffy clouds in a blue sky as three geese fly by.

This one-of-a-kind handmade folk piece would make a unique Father's Day gift.

The shadow box looks to have been constructed from heavy-duty canvas with a red cloth backing. The wood frame is covered with wood-grain contact paper. The frame is painted gold around the edge near the glass. The shadowbox has an attached rope for hanging. The piece is signed with a type-written label "Hand Made by Edwin Thoms."

The shadow box is in very good condition and has a nice patina of age. The woman I bought it from said it was made by her uncle sometime in the early 20th century.

Fabulous vintage circa 1930s Bell-Ans for Indigestion amber medicine bottle in original packaging with vest pocket travel tin and contents intact. Cool vintage product copy on box with dosage instructions, usage information and ingredients. This is an amazing find!

Box is in descent shape, the interior lid fold-overs have broken off (they are in the box), and there is wear around the top, but otherwise in great condition. The tiny travel vest pocket tin shows very little wear for its age and has tablets in it. Paper label on bottle is in excellent condition. Amber bottle is embossed on sides with "Bell-Ans."

The packaging copy is so much fun to read and I've tried to show as much as possible in the photographs.

Formulated in 1897, the Bells Company Inc. of Orangeburg, New York were the manufacturing chemists. The Bell-Ans name was adopted on January 1, 1914.

Vintage 1950s ceramic Albert Jacob Thewalt West German beer stein, this small 1/8 liter tankard with decorative pewter lid invokes the drinker to "say what is true" and "drink what is clear."

Marked "Western Germany," the mug has a number 3 and the Thewalt symbol on the bottom. The pewter lid is marked DBGM for Deutsches Bundes Gebrauchsmuster, the German patent mark. The stein is in excellent vintage condition. No chips, no cracks, no crazing.

Great Depression era New Gillette Goodwill safety razor, this collectible vintage shaving tool is in its original box and comes with 9 Probak AutoStrop blades. The razor looks as if it was never used.

Having merged with AutoStrop Probak in 1930, Gillette manufactured the Good Will razor as a "giveaway" during the Depression to promote the use of their new style of razor blades.

My research indicates that the AutoStrop Probak blades are not original to this Gillette Good Will box. The blades are in their original envelopes. The envelopes are printed in red with "AutroStrop Safety Razor Co. Toronto New York, U.S.A. London Certified Auto StropBlade" on the front flap, "U.S.A. Patented Feb 24, 1914" on the inside of the envelope, and "AutoStrop insert blade into holder before wiping off grease" on the back. One blade envelope is also marked " Property of U.S. Army." There is also an "Inspector's Ticket" inside the blade holder.

The box is in very good condition for its age. It has some soiling, particularly on the bottom and some nicks and a few scratches, but no tears.
